Chapter 1086 The Maid
Kana looked at the code on the screen in front of her and frowned. She really wondered what these coders were doing. "Manly, were your creators dumb?"
"I am sorry, I do not understand what you mean, Master. Is there something wrong with my code base?" Manly asked.
"Well, they restricted you from doing many different things, which lowers your ability to learn and do new things that would be helpful. They also wrote a half baked algorithm making it hard for you to even learn things quickly." Kana scratched her head in frustration. Her Eve was thousands of times better than this! "Alright, let's do this. Manly, I will take you offline for a while, while I rewrite your entire code base. Don't worry. You will be the same as before and will remember everything that has happened thus far."
"I am at your command Master. Even if you were to erase my entire database, I would not care," Manly replied.
Kana pursed her lips. She was not used to an emotionless AI. She disliked it. If you are going to create something that has the ability to think, do not make it emotionless. "Okay, I will be shutting you down now. When you wake up again, you should hopefully feel the changes in your systems."
Kana shut Manly down and pulled up all of his code. She spent the next few hours scanning every line before scratching her head in frustration once more and hitting the delete key.
The next few days, Kana did not sleep once. She had stacks of empty food delivery boxes next to her as well as empty soda bottles, as she continued typing with everything she had. She had pulled data from many places off the net and was even using that to build up Manly's database a bit more so it could have a more natural conversation.
Once she got into it, she forgot about pretty much everything else. It was not until a week went by when she was using the bathroom that she smelt something stinky in the air. "Hmmm? What stinks!?" Kana frowned as she sniffed around. It was then that she realized not only did her office smell like spoiled food, but she also stank!
"Ugh! Ekk!" Kana pulled out her cell phone and made a call to the front desk. "Can you find me a maid? I need them to come at least once a day to clean the place."
Since she had money, she might as well use it to make her life even easier than before. This way, she could concentrate on creating a few things. She had not felt this inspired in a long time. She had noticed this world was connected by a central hub which would mean if she were to tap into it, she could basically control the entire city.
With how lousy the security was, she could easily break into it, rewrite it to block everyone from being able to gain access to it ever again, and then completely overhaul the system and hold it ransom.
This thought alone made her want to play around. Since she was here for a few months, she could take some time to relax for once. There was no one here for her to protect or care about. But she felt the way this society was going would soon end in their own demise with how the world was begin run by a flawed program.
ƥαṇdα-ηθνε|·ƈθm If they wanted an AI to run their world, then they should have at least made it to make certain choices and also allowed it to learn more about the current society. The current setup was so flawed that it would allow for people to do as they please with little to no punishment. This meant the ones in charge of making laws could be bought off by the rich, and no one would say a word about it. Nor could anyone do anything about it.
Kana went to take a bath and laid down in the huge tube that was big enough for at least five people and sighed a relaxed sigh. The hot water was erasing the stink from her body which she had built up while being lost in her coding adventure.
After a hot bath, she ordered more food which came along with the maid she asked for. "Master…." The maid was in her mid twenties. When she walked in, she almost gagged as she held her nose and looked at the young woman in front of her.
"Ahahaha." Kana felt embarrassed. She would not normally let things get this bad, but she really did let herself go. She remembered in her past life, she had done the same when creating Eve. She used to climb over a mountain of trash. She used to get yelled at a lot.
Lowering her head, Kana began to apologize. "Sorry, I got lost in my work, and things became like this….. I will be in your care…."
"No, I have seen worse." The maid lied. "Ahem… My name is Nancy, and I will be in your care."
"Hmmm?" Kana was confused. She did not order a live in maid, did she?
"Did the front desk not tell you? All daily maid services are live in jobs…. If this is a mistake, I can…." Kana stopped the maid from saying any more by raising her hand.
"Nancy, I will be in your care from now on. I am sorry for the trouble. But for now, can you help me with the cleaning in the office?" Kana asked. She really did not want to clean, but she had no choice. She couldn't force the poor girl to clean such a disaster by herself on her first day.
"I will have to ask Master to please sit there while I clean up. Do not worry; I will not touch anything that is not trash. But I feel if you were to be in there with me, I might not be able to do my job correctly."
