Chapter 881: The Days Count Down
The other two men in black both charged at Kana at the same time with swords drawn. But…. "AHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Kana clapped her hands together and nodded her head. "As well that ends well. Okay, Little An, let's finish looking for my Handsome husband's souvenir. " Kana completely ignored the two black dots she had just sent flying to only god knows where.
Little An nodded absentmindedly as she followed after Kana. She was still trying to understand what had just happened. As the two left the area, another man appeared at the scene and looked up at the sky. "Those stupid old fools. I was a step too late…." The old man let out a long sigh before disappearing once more.
Kana finally found something that suited Creige. It was a small chain with a hammer on it. When she saw it, she fell in love with it almost immediately. With a happy smile on her face, she returned to the tower with Little An. "I will be leaving now," Kana announced.
Little An, and the old goat were standing in front of her out in the garden where the pavilion is. "Kana, it was fun." Little An was a bit reluctant to see Kana go, but she knew this time would come.
"It was. Little An, you should go out and see the world more. Maybe even find someone to love. Life is only so long for most." Kana replied with a smile. She already knew her fate was a long one. She knew she could only die at this point if someone killed her.
Little An blushed at Kana's words but nodded her head. She also wanted to see more of the world. "Good luck, may our paths cross again."
As Kana tore a hole in space and disappeared, the old goat who was standing there with a sour face did not like the words Kana said. No man was good enough or his disciple! "Forget about meeting any man!"
Little An turned to see her master's expression and laughed as she said: "Who said anything about me falling for a man?" Leaving these words, she turned and walked away. The old goat was left standing there, trying to figure out what her words meant.
Kana reappeared in front of her home. She was met with Nana's smiling face. "Welcome back. How was it?"
"I home! I found a spot and took it over." Kana answered as she sat down at the stone table.
"Took it over?" Nana did not understand what Kana meant.
"Well, there were a bunch of divine beasts in the area, so I told them to leave very nicely. And they agreed." Kana replied with a smile. Nana chuckled. She understood now that her 'nicely' was basically a big threat of some kind.
"That's good. So now you are just waiting on the others? How much longer do you think it will be?" Nana asked.
"MMm… if I am right, maybe another two years. I stayed there for a while, after all, looking after them before I came out. I had reached my current level about twenty years ago." Kana answered.
"Then let's hope it will be soon." Nana smiled as she made some tea. The two girls sat and chatted like old times.
---
The days passed and just as Kana predicted everyone finally reached their peak stages within two years' time. Now they were all standing above a large mountain range. "Mama this is the place?"
"Yep, this is the place where I found demonic qi. We now just need to cultivate here before leaving." Kana replied.
"Are you sure about not saying goodbye to the others?" Rain asked. She was wondering why Kana just up and left after packing everything away in her storage box.
"Yes…. I hate to say it but I have no real attachment with anyone there except for one person. I left a note for Nana, which is enough." Kana replied with a smile. Nana had been a good friend. She would miss her, but no matter how much she asked, Nana said she did not wish to leave. It was a sad thing to say goodbye, so Kana left her a message. She hoped Nana would have a good life.
---
Outside Kana's immortal cave, Nana looked at the note stuck to the door and pulled it off. She opened it up and began reading it: 'Nana. I know it is not right for me to be up and leaving like this, but. Well. If I were to say goodbye to you face to face, I would probably break down. You were my best friend on this world. No... More like a sister. We went through a lot together, and I wished we could have gone through more.
'But you wished to stay on this world. I will respect your wishes. But let me say one thing. Find your happiness. Live a life for yourself and not others. You are able to find happiness once again. So sister. Until we meet again.'
"You…. You really know how to make people cry. You know that!?" Nana looked at the letter and read it over a few more times. It was only on the third read through that she noticed a small arrow at the bottom pointing to the right. With the words 'turn over' on it. She turned it over and saw more text. 'Ps: there is meat inside, so eat it quickly!'
"Pfft! Hahaha! Even now. You only think of meat. Was this your parting gift?" Nana had tears rolling down her cheeks as she laughed. She opened the door to see a number of statues sitting in a circle in the middle of the room. Each one was a depiction of her and Kana during the times they had spent together. When Nana saw this, she burst into tears and knelt on the ground, both laughing and crying at the same time. "You really are… Where was the meat?"
---
Time quickly flowed, and the demonic qi in the area faded quickly. Kana and her family all stood outside a small cave, looking up at the sky. "So it's finally time…."
"I kinda wished we could have raised our demonic qi cultivation a bit more. It just seems lacking compared to the rest." Yana complained.
"We will eventually get there. The next plane might have a bigger abundance of it." Rain answered.
"Rain is right. I just need to call Aoi and the others back, and we can move on."
