Chapter 364: The Land Of Souls
Kana, couldn't help but feel Yana was just too loveable. Old Sa smiled seeing this. "You are truly a unique girl. I can tell why the little punk loves you so much."
Kana frowned as she thought of something after listening to Old Sa's words. It was something Creige said a long time ago when she accidentally married him under Lysairth's coercion. "Isn't it just mainly because he is a demon? I know Creige probably loves me now, but at the start, it was because we got married."
"Ahh… Such a fool..." Old Sa shook his head. "That brat knows you can break a marriage bind. It's not a hard thing to do. He probably decided to wait and see how things went. That is just the kind of guy he is. He would also not slack on his duties of being your husband. You can say that he and you were destined to be together. So never think it was just because of his heritage. Heritage can not force anyone to do anything. Even if it is blood bound. You have to remember he was a demi god for so long that it wouldn't have mattered what you did. He could have canceled it after the fact. But he didn't."
Kana smiled softly after hearing this. She felt very warm and fuzzy inside. "I am glad he didn't. I do not think I could ever meet a man who would be better than him. Now we have a family together as well, which makes it even better. I hope our love can last all eternity."
"And I am sure it will. But Kana, are you sure you want to go to that place?" Old Sa asked. He knew what she would answer, but he still had to ask once more.
"Mmm… I will go, and I will return. I have to. So I will have to ask you to keep an eye on Yana for me." Kana asked, bowing her head slightly.
"Mama going someplace?" Yana asked.
"Mmm… I need to go to a dangerous place that I can not take you to. So I need you to stay here and be a good girl, okay? No matter what, do not use your ability for anyone, okay?" Kana hugged Yana tightly. Before looking at Old Sa for his answer.
Old Sa sighed and chuckled. "You're not letting me say no to keep you here, are you?"
"I already said I must go. And I can only trust you with my new daughter." Kana replied with a grin.
"You have my word. She will stay here in my space, and no one will be able to harm her. I will even teach her a few things that she can use for protection that do not require a system." Old Sa replied.
"Then I thank you. Yana, I promise to be back, so wait for me, okay?" Kana said as she planted a kiss on top of Yana's forehead.
"Okay, be careful, Mama!" Yana felt reluctant to let Kana go, but she knew Kana had come to this continent for one reason, and that was to find an item to help someone special to her.
Kana waved goodbye before leaving… A month later after flying for many days and nights and resting every so often. She was now standing on the border of a completely black land. This was the most western part of the Pleqoth continent. And the area in front of her was called the land of souls and was a place where the souls of even the old gods themselves were said to still roam. Not even the sun reached this place as the sky was always covered in dense black clouds.
"Naru, Aoi what do you think?" Kana asked. As she stood at the very edge of where the green grass met the black grass.
"I will follow you anywhere Kana." Aoi answered and flew to sit on top of her head.
"I feel something from deep within these lands but I can not tell what it is or where it is..." Hearing this Kana's eyes lit up slightly. If Naru could feel something then it must have something to do with the death element…
"It seems I will be looking for two things now." Kana said with a smile. "Naru, Aoi, let's go! Let's see what awaits us here in this place."
Kana took a deep breath and took her first step into this place known as the land of souls. Her first feeling when her foot landed on the black grass was a bone chilling cold. Kana looked down at her bare feet and used her fire magic to warm them. Feeling the chill ward off enough to be bearable, Kana smiled and took another step forward. "Seems to work. Aoi, Naru, tell me if you get too cold."
"We will." Aoi said as she stared straight ahead. Now that she entered this place she also felt something calling out to her. And she was intensely drawn to this something. She turned to look at Naru and then at Kana before biting her lip and flying off Kana's shoulder and stopping in front of her. "Kana!"
"Hmm?" Kana was surprised by Aoi's sudden outburst and serious look on her face. "Aoi what's wrong?"
"There is something here. I have to find it… I don't know what it is but I must go. And I must go alone. So please let me go..." Aoi clenched her little fist as she bowed her head.
"Aoi if you go alone what if something happens to you and I am not there to protect you!?" Naru looked at Aoi, his eyes full of worry.
"Even so I must go. Like how Kana must go, I also must go and I must do this alone." Aoi answered. Her will and determination was strong enough for all to see.
Kana sighed and reached out and poked Aoi in the forehead with her finger. "Go, But if I feel you're in a bad spot I will summon you back. We are connected no matter where you go, so if I feel that you are on the verge of death whether you are close to getting whatever it is that you are going to go seek I will summon you back. Remember you are my family so no matter what your safety is important to me. "
