Chapter 191: Trial Of Survival Part Nine
In a void separate from the known universe. "Grandpa, will she be okay? I mean, you dropped her right on top of the warring races there."
"She will be fine look how quickly she can kill those stupid people. She seems to be using this as training plus a way to gain experience. With her current level, it will take a while to level up. Those soldiers are barely a fart's worth of experience. Plus, this is a trial of survival. I need this young lass to go through life and death experiences. Because her next reward is something, she desperately needs and wants." Old Sir replied to his grandson's quarry. The two had not moved from their spot and only watched Kana's progress. Old Sir may seem cold hearted, but that is only on the outside. On the inside, he is hoping Kana can make it through. Only then will he know she will be ready for the next trial. The hardships of the trial of survival are nothing compared to what was to come.
"Let's hope she can pull through then. But isn't this world's technology pretty high? Won't a higher grade weapon do some real damage to her?" Old Sir's grandson asked.
"She probably already knows this. This is why she is in her dragon form. She decided to be a smaller target than a bigger one. Plus, she can get better bursts of speed using all four limbs and be able to make use of her rear claws and her teeth. Whereas in her humanoid form, it would be much tougher. Although she is pretty adept at fighting, I can see she had undergone some basic hand to hand combat." Old Sir answered.
His grandson nodded as he watched Kana fight her way through the halls avoiding beams of light with ease while at the same time countering and killing anyone who was in her range. He had to say that he was pretty impressed with her ability to adapt and preserve even under the threat of many. "That commander guy is there. It seems the real battle is about to begin."
Back where Kana was, Kana and Mary were now standing tens of meters from the exit but in front of them was Commander Branson and a group of about fifty soldiers. "Miss Kana, I did not think you would want to leave so soon, even after being so hospitable to you. Did you find something to your disliking?"
"Your face. Your voice. The nose hair you got hanging out fluttering in the air. Oh, and this whole place. I dislike it all. But what I dislike the most is people trying to scheme against me." Kana grinned, showing her sharp teeth that were stained in blood. "You can only blame yourself for trying to keep me here and send me to your higher ups. But I will say this no matter what kind of weapon you have, I can still leave this place, and you will not be able to stop me."
"Oh? Well, what if we disable your little friend Mary? Fire!" Commander Branson did not like wasting time. He was here to finish this mess, and that was what he was going to do.
Fifty beams of light, all aimed at Mary, shot forth but were quickly blocked as Aoi appeared out of nowhere, creating a barrier around Mary. "Smelly man can't touch this!" Aoi yelled out while shaking her fist at Commander Branson.
Seeing how easily his men's weapons were repelled, Commander Branson frowned as he raised his own weapon and fired a shot. The beam of light from his weapon was much denser and reddish blue compared to the soldier blue beams from the other weapons. The beam of light smashed into the water barrier Aoi made, penetrating it slightly before dispersing. "Hehe... Baldies should know when to quit. Baldy!" Aoi started shouting baldy over. She seemed to have found calling Commander Branson baldy to be quite fun.
"It seems I truly underestimated you. Your little water monster is truly capable. But too bad you will never be able to leave this place." Commander Branson flicked his fingers, and a blue barrier suddenly dropped down from the ceiling blocking Kana and the other two inside it. They could no longer retreat or move forward.
"This is..." Kana looked at the blue barrier. It was the same barrier that blocked Aoi from leaving the cell to take a look around outside. Kana flicked it with her claw before bringing her paw back, balling it up and thrusting it forward.
*Boom!*
The whole base shook as a shattering sound was heard. The blue barrier that was in front of Kana had shattered into balls of blue light. "Seems the barrier was not all that strong after all. Hey baldy, Looks like you will die today since in order to trap me, you trapped yourself."
Kana smiled as she stretched her arms and legs a little before hopping up and down. "Time for you to die!"
Commander Branson did not expect Kana to be able to break the barrier since it was a top grade barrier, one of the few that were just recently created with the best technology. "You! Quick, Kill her! Kill them all!"
"Sir, didn't you say..."
"Shut up and kill her or do you wish to die!?" Commander Branson no longer cared about his reward from the higher ups. His life was more important. He could only watch helplessly as Kana charged towards him.
As for Mary she was currently having the time of her life due to Aoi protecting her with ease. She could stand in the line of fire and kill anyone she aimed at. She was making sure to prioritize all those who had looked down on her and picked on her.
Commander Branson was using his own people as shields as he tried to get away from Kana. But how could he out run someone who had such high agility. Before he could get far Kana was already above him reaching out with her paw straight at his neck!
