Chapter 346: A Life To Renew A Life
[AN: Bonus Chapter 1/5]
Kana's eyes never left Shamile for even a second. She touched her stomach, and a gentle smile formed on her face. She took a step forward and then another. The magic circles around her followed her every step of the way. Each step was withering the area around her in a greater range.
Shamile was shaking her head back and forth. Everything that was happening was beyond anything she had expected. This was not how things were supposed to go. She was supposed to come here and use the people of this world to kill off the woman she hated most. Who would have thought that not only did she fail to kill this woman, but that she would be trapped herself? Her power was almost completely drained from her body. She had no more ability to cast any spells. She could only sit and wait for her death. "Stay away! I don't want to die!"
"You should have thought of that before you came down here and harmed my kin..." Kana's words once again spread across the two realms. With each step, Kana could feel the energy she was taking from the plants nourishing her body. Giving it new life. Most importantly, this nourishment was affecting her little one, whose thread of life had been rekindled. She could feel it beginning to heal within her. But plants were not enough. She needed a stronger energy to fully heal her little one.
Kana stepped in front of Shamile, who seemed to be so weak that a gust of wind would blow her away. "You should never have done that..." Kana reached out with her dragon claws and grabbed Shamile by the head. The power of withering surged from her body and began sucking the life force from Shamil'e body.
"No! No! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!" Shamile was flailing left and right, trying to release herself from Kana's grip. She could see the arm that was once missing was now regenerating at a speed visible to the eye. Her eyes opened wide in shock, reluctance and unwillingness. She could feel every ounce of her life force being drained at a rapid pace. Her body slowly shriveled up. Her screams became weaker, and her strength fell until she hung limply from Kana's grip.
Kana touched her stomach with her newly regenerated arm and smiled. Tears streamed down her face as she let go of Shamil'e body which was nothing more than a husk. Both of her hands touched her stomach, gently rubbing it. "Mother is sorry. She did not protect you well enough. But luckily… You both will be okay..."
After saying these words, Kana closed her eyes, bent over, and opened her mouth. She gagged a few times before a black ball came out of her mouth. The magic circles that were surrounding her disappeared, and the death element that surrounded her also dissipated. Her body swayed as she felt the power holding her up, leave.
"Kana!" Creige rushed forward and caught Kana as she fell. He held her in his arms, looking her over to make sure everything was okay. Kana weakly smiled at him and touched her stomach. "The baby is okay now... "
"That's good..." Creige's hand trembled. He held Kana tightly in his arms as he slumped to the ground. He lowered his head and pressed his forehead against hers. He had just been given so many shocks he thought his heart was going to stop.
"It seems I was right." Camlia walked over and picked up the black ball on the ground, and tossed it to Aoi. "He needs to rest a while. Kana had to use his energy to become a placebo goddess of death."
"Huh?' Aoi was confused as she struggled to catch the black ball, but when she felt the energy coming from it, she Hugged it tightly. "Naru..."
"What Kana did was not something many could do. She actually forced herself to become a goddess even though she had not undergone the baptism. Creige, her body is weak, so she will need to rest for a while. The good news is that everything turned out fine." Camlia walked over and touched Kana's stomach. "Mmm… both healthy and stronger, in fact, they will start off in their third evolution. It seems like that bitch was good for something."
Camlia felt guilty. Her little sister would never have had to deal with this if she had not kicked the woman onto the planet. She just never thought the woman would move so fast and decisively. "Creige, take Kana back to hell to recuperate. I will deal with the issues here. With me here, no one will be able to do anything."
"Thank you. I will head there now." Creige gave a nod before waving a hand and teleporting away.
Camlia turned her eyes skyward at the few old men in the air. "The show's over. If any of you dares to lay a hand on her, I will find you and hunt you down." Camlia left this warning before heading towards the desolate race.
The old men in the sky looked at each other before nodding their heads in some kind of silent agreement. Once again the area became calm. All that was left of the battle was the marks left on the terrain.
In the same room that Creige and Kana stayed before when they visited hell, Creige gently put Kana down on the bed. Her eyes were closed and she was in a deep sleep. He knelt beside the bed and held her hand. He had truly thought the worst of everything. This time things had worked out but next time… "We need to be stronger..."
Creige placed his hand on Kana's stomach and could feel two strong heartbeats coming from within. He understood now just how delicate life can be. "Once these little ones are born I will wait a year… Then… I will ascend..."
Creige wanted to be stronger, strong enough to be able to protect his family. He never wanted anything like today to happen ever again. Even if it meant temporarily leaving her side he would do so in order to become strong.
