Chapter 418: Yana’s Trial Part 1
Creige felt helpless when he looked at Kana's current expression. He pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head. He took a deep breath and said: "Let me tell you why I know they will be okay..."
Yana looked at the dead monsters around her and scratched her head. "Handsome Papa really likes to play for keeps… These things keep coming out of nowhere. If my other me was out right now, we would have already been dead."
When Yana got her system, and when Camlia changed her DNA make up in order for her to live a long life like her sisters, Yana formed a second personality. There was her original personality that was sweet and innocent, then there was the Yana who was out now, cold and bloodthirsty, unafraid of what laid ahead. This Yana only cared about her family and keeping her more timid personality safe from the hardships of the world. In a sense, she was able to keep her pure and innocent side while her other wild side took care of the dirty work.
"Now then, this place is nothing but a pool of blood I should continue on."Yana spoke her thoughts out loud as she took a step forward, only to stop. She looked over at a certain spot and smiled. "Handsome Papa, next time, make it harder, or I will not have any fun."
With these words, she raised her hand and waved as she continued towards the red flashing light off in the distance. In the spot that Yana was staring in before, a figure appeared. Creige watched as the little figure got further and further away and chuckled. "Although she does not have Kana's or my blood in her, she is just like her mother with her attitude. But what she thinks is easy is not as simple as she thinks." After saying this, Creige'sfigure slowly disappeared.
Yana had walked quite a ways, and a path of death laid behind her. The strange dog like monsters were never ending. After walking almost a day, Yana found herself at a cliffside. She stood at its edge and peered down at the black abyss below. She then looked out across the large expanse that she would need to cross to get to the other side. "Hmm? It seems Handsome Papa was not going to make things easy for me then. But this... Feels a bit strange..."
Yana picked up a stone and tossed it out. But as soon as the rock passed a few meters off the side of the cliff, it did not continue to soar through the air like how a rock should if thrown but instead stopped midair and dropped straight down. "Looks like flying is out of the question."
After thinking for a minute, Yana picked up another rock and dropped it right over the edge of the cliff. This time the rock did not fall straight down but tumbled down its sides. "Really?" Yana felt like her easy mode just skipped a few levels.
Letting out a big sigh, she searched the edge for the best way to get down before climbing over the edge and slowly making her way down. She could see in both directions, and there was no bridge or anything that would allow her alternate route, so she had no choice but to climb down. She did not dare fly down in case whatever was making the rock drop down as it did, reached closer to the cliffside the further down she got.
Yana carefully and slowly scaled her way down the cliff. Every so often, she would kick some rocks to test the area to make sure it was still normal. She had to shift her positioning on the cliffside many times now due to the gravity spots she liked to call them were spotted along with the cliffside as well. If she was not being as careful as she was now, she would have fallen to her death many times now.
When she grew closer to the bottom, she could hear the sounds of monsters and feel an immense pressure coming from the darkness. Her lips curled up as her eyes glowed with excitement. "Hehe… Handsome Papa really went all out. Not only will I be fighting in absolute darkness, but these monsters might even pose a challenge for me."
"Creige, you bastard! Why did you hide it from me!?" Kana yelled as she threw a punch, hitting Creige right in the eye. He did not try to dodge. He stood there and let her hit him over and over. He let her vent all her frustration out on him, not moving a single inch.
It was not until she calmed down did he finally speak. "If I had tried to explain this to you before, you would not have let me do this."
Kana snorted and turned away from Creige, not wanting to speak to him. She knew this very well, but she still did not care. Those were her babies. What was wrong with her sheltering them for the time being? But now that she knew what was going on, she was able to rest at ease that she knew where her babies were. After mulling over everything for a while, Kana finally turned around and looked at Creige: "I will let them go through the trials, but if any of them get killed, I will never talk to you again. But let me say this now, you just lost some trust points with me. If you do something like this ever again, I will never trust you again. And for the time being, stay away from me. I am going back to our house." Before Creige could say a word, Kana already opened a gate back to Eie's lab. She didn't even want to see Creige's face. She was truly mad. She never thought she could be this mad at him. But he went and did something so stupid with out telling her.
