Chapter 431: The Past: Intertwined Fates Part 4
"You finally admitted your feelings for me..." Ar'en's lips curled up into a broad smile. "Now that you have admitted it, I will never let you go! You are the only girl I will ever love in this life and any other after that. And I do not plan to let you die here without marrying me first!"
The old man who was standing in front of Ar'en was red with anger with how he was so blatantly ignoring him. "Ar'en, get out of my way! That scourge needs to die! Only when she dies can the balance be restored! We only started this war in order to find and kill this girl!"
"You take me for a fool? Do you really think I would believe such bullshit coming from your mouth? You say you started this war to kill my beloved? How would you even find out about her when she has spent over fifty years hiding away in the deepest and most dangerous parts of my kingdom! You are just trying to make excuses for this war you have started. I will say this now. Not only will you not take my beloved's life, but you will die for hurting her!" Ar'en was mad. He saw the injuries on Kana's body, causing his rage to overflow. No one was allowed to hurt his woman!
"Ar'en, don't get too full of yourself! You alone can not stop me and the other alliance members!" The old man yelled. But he still did not dare attack. Behind him, one after the other, more old men appeared in the air.
"Hahaha! You are not enough to stop me!" Ar'en let out a laugh as he let his power surge out of his body. He suppressed the entire area leaving only his people unaffected. The old men in the sky all frowned. They were not as bad as those who were weaker, but they were still pressured by Ar'en's power. Although he was strong, Ar'en did not dare to attack now since more had shown up. He could not risk one of them hurting her.
The old man turned to look at his companions, who all shook their heads and snorted: "We will end this here. But hear me, Ar'en, in the future I will kill that woman! No matter what, she can not live!" After that, he turned and disappeared along with the other men. The human army was then given the signal to retreat.
Ar'en turned his head and grinned at Kana. "See! Your husband is amazing."
Kana, couldn't help but blush slightly. She wanted to tell him in your dreams, but she was in too much pain. She could only watch as he carefully scooped her up into his arms and held her against his chest. That faint scent of mint entered her nose, causing her to unconsciously relax. She closed her eyes to rest, but before she knew it, she was in a deep sleep.
Ar'en looked at the girl in his arms that was badly wounded and frowned. "Why do you have to rush headlong into things? Why couldn't you have found me first?"
A few hours later, on the human side of the sea of stars, a meeting was being held with the most powerful figures of the human domain. "Are you sure she was one of them?"
"Isn't my hand proof enough!? My right hand is now crippled! If it wasn't for me, we would have all died by now!" The old man who punched Kana yelled.
"What good was it to sacrifice your hand if you let her go just like that! Now she is in Ar'en's hands!"
"You were not there, so you can not look down on us. That man has grown much stronger. Even if we had fought together, there is no telling if we could have defeated him. We will need to figure out a way to take him out or a way to keep him busy while we deal with the girl. But now is not the time since he would be expecting us."
"Then we should work on growing stronger ourselves. If we can figure out a way to take Ar'en down, then the woman won't be an issue."
"Then let's focus on gaining the resources we need to build our armies. We will set a deadline of one thousand years. How does that sound?"
"I agree."
"All in favor, raise your hands." Every person in the room raised their hands. A new push to grow stronger was formed within the human domain.
Back in the demon domain, Ar'en brought Kana back to his palace. He swiftly brought her to his bed chambers and gently placed her on the bed. He used his power to check the extent of her injuries to find that most of the bones in her body were either cracked or broken. He frowned and immediately cast a healing spell.
A week passed, and Ar'en had not left Kana's side once besides when he had the maids bathe her and put clothes on her. And even then, he stood outside the door guarding it. He wanted to be by her side as soon as she woke up. He had already healed all of her injuries. She now looked just as beautiful as she did before. When he first brought her back, she was covered in massive burns all over her body that cooked her skin down to the bone in some places. But after a day and night of healing, he was able to heal everything back to how it was before.
On the eve of the seventh day, since he brought Kana back, Kana's eyes fluttered as she softly muttered: "Stop trying to steal my meat..."
Ar'en chuckled and walked over to the bed and squatted down next to it as the girl on the bed slowly opened her eyes. She stared into his, and he stared into hers. "Good morning, my sleeping beauty."
"You! Why are you here!?" Kana asked, feeling confused.
"It is natural for me to be here. This is my bed, after all." Ar'en gazed at Kana with a big teasing grin on his face.
"You! What did we do!? Did you!?" Kana's heart began to beat fast. She had yet to understand the situation.
