Chapter 703 - Meeting And Planning Part 2
A while later, Kana, Liu Na, Fei, Fan Sengya, and Zhong Liuxian were all outside, sitting in the middle of the courtyard. "Let's all reintroduce ourselves as things have been very hectic since we all first met." Liu Na suggested since she only knew two of the other four.
"Since I suggested it, I will start first. My name is Liu Na, and I am Kana's bestest, best friend." Liu Na stated probably. Kana smiled as she rocked back and forth while holding the flat of her feet together, giving a silent acknowledgment as the two were close friends.
Fei pursed her lips as she did not like the sound of that. Ever since meeting Liu Na, she had felt a slight hostility towards her when it concerned Kana. Rolling her shoulders, Fei spoke next: "I am Fei, and I am also Kana's friend!" She did not dare say a best friend of anything of that sort as she did not want to overstep any lines that might have been drawn.
"I will go next!" Kana raised her hand. She felt like she was in school, which brought back some memories from one of her past lives where she would sit in class all day listening to the teacher discuss topics that bored her. Kana sat straight up and lifted her head as she said: "My name is Kana! I am… Friends with all of you!"
Everyone began clapping. Fan Sengya was clapping so hard it was a wonder that his hands did not break. "Amazing introduction!" Both Fei and Liu Na narrowed their eyes. They then looked at each other, and a tactic agreement was made without them speaking a single word: 'Keep Fan Sengya away from Kana.'
"I will go next!" Fan Sengya suddenly stood up and bowed in a princely manner. Something one would normally not do in a cultivation world. "My name is Fan Sengya, and I am pursuing my love for Kana, who is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. One day I will make her realize my love for her is real."
Kana lowered her eyes and wrinkled her brow. 'Sadly, this wish of yours will never happen.' When she raised her head, Fan Senghya beamed her a smile and sat down. It was now Zhong Liuxian's turn. "Benefactors, my name is Zhong Liuxian. I am a monk that has set out on his journey to experience the world. I hope we can all get along. I also wish to thank Benefactor Kana for her help through the sect entrance tests. I am not sure I would have passed without your help."
Kana gave Zhong Liuxian a smile as she spoke while waving her hand back and forth: "It was nothing. I was doing what I felt was right. I just happened to figure out each of the tests' meanings before the others. I hope we can also get along as well. We will all be a team from this moment on."
"Well said!" Elder Ning's voice came from the sky as he landed in the courtyard. "I am glad you five are all here. I would like to tell you all something. The sect master has interrogated the only person we know that might have been the culprit behind the incidents during the tests, but it was not fruitful. It turned out that it was not them."
The Sect Master had gone all the way to the back mountain to integrate Elder Ye as he seemed to have been the only one who had the motive to try anything during the exam. But when the sect master asked if he could test his spiritual qi for demonic qi, Elder Ye quickly obliged, and nothing was found. It seemed Elder Ye was very upset about this because he himself was a victim to devil cultivators who killed his entire family, leaving him the only one alive. But now, the trail had turned cold.
"With this said, I would like to ask has anyone had any run-ins with any devil cultivators recently? And Kana, not including the time you killed the Wu siblings." Elder Ning asked. He was hoping for any leads he could get. As he looked at the five disciples in front of him, Kana's hand began to raise.
"Does killing the disciple of some old man with an ugly face count? I at least think he was a devil cultivator. The man in black kept saying something about using my blood to cultivate. When I was just about to kill the man in black, there was a big ugly face that came out of his body and began yelling at me. Something about letting his disciple go, or he will give me a death worse than death or something along those lines. So I ended up crushing his disciple's soul and then destroying the soul fragment of the old man." Kana answered.
"This…." Elder Ning did not know what to say. He did not understand how Kana, who was at the first stage of qi gathering, could accomplish such a thing. But putting that fact behind him, he fell into thought. "That may be the case. If you injured his soul at all, then he would not be able to make a move personally, but that would not stop him from using others to do you harm. I will speak to the sect master about this. Kana, you need to be extra careful when you go out… Actually, now that I think about it, where is your contracted divine beast? What was her name again…?"
"Oh, Ako? She was hurt by a strange energy. She is currently still trying to purge this energy out of her body. Speaking of that, Elder Ning, do you know of a village that can only be entered when it's foggy. There are no humans as far as I could tell around and only a tall black pillar in the center of the town? It was a strange pillar that let out a black energy and tried to suck both Ako and I into the pillar." Kana had forgotten to ask about this and wondered just what it was or if anyone else had heard about it.
"A village in the fog…. This… Wait.... I may have heard a rumor a while back…."
