Chapter 464: Diving Into The Enemy’s Domain Part 1
"How was it?" Creige asked as he saw Kana and Aruya coming out of the hut. He knew Kana had found something due to the gloomy expression on her face.
"The hut itself seems normal, but I found this inside. There is a strange language on one side while on the other was the world help etched into it and a tuft of Kiliffia's hair." Kana handed the slab over to Creige, who took it and looked at it. When he saw the language, he frowned slightly. "Devils…. "
"Hmm?" Kana raised an eyebrow. "You understand the words?"
"Mmm… It is a magic spell that affects the mind. When someone reads this, they will think they are reading something else. It will drag out their heart desires and tell them what they want to hear. For Kiliffia to break the spell on her mind and still carve the words help on the other side means she has a strong mind. Normally this is laid out as a trap. But in order for this trap to work, one must be led here. This swamp itself is probably a large magic array that will lead a certain amount of people to this location. Since it led us here, that means that there are enough devils to capture us. Normally what happens is once the slab is read, you do not go anywhere. You think you are in your mind, but in truth, you are just standing still in front of the object that has this spell written on it.
"From there, it could be days before the devils will turn up to take you back. This is because they want you to be so weak that you will not be able to resist. Because once you are touched, the spell wears off, and they have to capture you. But this time, since Methiesee was here with Kiliffia, they had bit off more than they could chew, which is why she was probably able to leave this one message." Creige explained.
"Hmmm…. So that means they should be in the area, no?" Kana asked.
"Yes, but for them to be able to snatch that high god along with Kiliffia means they have some strength." Creige warned. He wanted to make sure Kana did not rush in.
Kana rolled her eyes as she said: "Am I not the one weakness devils have? They can't even get close to me without me sucking up all the death elements they have. Once their death element are gone, they are nothing more than a human."
Creige smiled and chuckled. "This is true! Alright then, let's put a tracer on the magic inscribed into this and rescue Kiliffia."
"Mmm… But Creige, be warned, if something bad has happened to her, I might go a little crazy." Kana was not sure if she could contain her anger if she came to find out that Kiliffia was harmed in any way.
"Mm… If it happens, I will take the kids and leave." Creige knew it would be best not to let the kids witness their mother's wrath. He didn't want them becoming scared of her.
"Thanks." Kana also felt the same way as Creige. She wanted her kids to know her as the happy mom who would always smile for them.
Creige cast a spell on the wooden slab causing a small magic circle to appear on it. After that, a large blue transparent arrow formed in front of him, pointing deeper into the forest. "We just need to follow this arrow. Whoever inscribed this did not put any defensive measures in place, and the feeling I get from this seems to be less like a devil and more human. I could be wrong, though."
"It doesn't matter who it is. They touched people they shouldn't have, and now they will need to pay for it." Kana said in a low voice. She really did not care if it was a human, devil, or even beastkin. They have touched one of her friends so they will have to pay.
The group traveled through the swamp for almost a week as they followed the arrow that Creige had floating in front of them until they came to a large old tree with a large opening carved out by the roots. "This seems to be the place. How do you want to handle it? Do you want me to wait outside with the kids? There is no telling what may happen once we enter."
Creige was worried that something out of their control would cause one of the kids to get hurt. Although he had witnessed their ability in the trials he was still reluctant to let them endanger themselves outside a controlled environment just yet. As for the girls they seemed to have other ideas. "Mama let us go too! We are not so weak that we need to be protected all the time!" Rain protested.
"Yes, Mama let us go! We will stay together so no matter what we will not be alone." Yana added.
"Mama, what they said is correct. We are no longer little and have more experience now. Although it was in handsome papa's trials we were still faced with adversaries that were much stronger than us and still overcame the strength difference and we were alone at the time. We can protect ourselves if we get split up from you." Angelica the more logical one gave proven facts in order to be able to get this real life experience. She and her sisters all needed true experiences.
Kana wrinkled her nose and fell into thought. She then looked at Creige who only sighed in resignation. He couldn't say no when the girls put things like that. "Alright. But if we end up getting split up you girls must not die on me. Otherwise, Mama will kill herself and come spank your butts in the afterlife!"
"Mama! Never say you will kill yourself! We will always be careful. Trust us." Rain yelled.
Kana smiled and pulled her babies into a hug. "Mama will never do anything to make you girls sad. I am just worried is all."
