Chapter 371: The Lich Race
"Hump! I am only doing it, so those damn old men don't laugh at me when you break more of my system..." Old Dan waved Kana off, causing Kana to chuckle. She was now in a good mood knowing one of her two issues was now resolved.
"Now I just need something to heal a soul..." Kana sighed. She wondered if she would be able to find what she needed any time soon.
"Then why are you on this continent?" Old Dan asked with a confused expression.
"I have been told by many that there was a plant here that could heal a damaged soul." Kana answered.
"If you are talking about that sliver of a soul that is within you, then you will not find what you are looking for on this continent. You will need to head to Klipriron. It is one of the only continents that is untainted by any battles. Now that I think about it, it should be uncharted altogether because the only living residence there is an ancient race that specializes in healing injured souls. It is just that the place itself is very dangerous. Much more dangerous than here.
"Who told you that you would find what you need here?" Old Dan asked.
"Sei And Yuthia and..." Kana's eyes landed on Old Sa, who involuntarily shivered.
"Well, it is not wrong that you can heal the little soul in you a little bit with a plant you can find here, but it won't be enough to bring her back to full strength. So you can't really blame them for not knowing unless they have in depth knowledge of souls. Camlia, shouldn't you know this?" Old Dan asked.
"Hmm? I specialize in destroying souls. Why would I need to revive them?" Camlia said with a snort.
"Ahh... That's true too... Anyway. I would go to Klipriron and look for the lich race. They are very talented at healing souls. After all, this is how they expand their race." Old Dan suggested.
"Then I will head there after Aoi returns. So Old Sa, I will need you to protect Yana for me until I return. Do you mind?" Kana asked. She did not want to take Yana anywhere where it was not safe for her.
"No problem, I will not let any harm come to her." Old Sa answered.
"Good… By the way, Old Dan, can I ask that with the system you give to Yana that you tweak it a little more to help extend her life faster?" Kana went on to explain her reason for asking, causing Old Dan to frown.
"What bastard makes a little girl use such a power that will shorten her life! I will string him up naked and dip him head first into a sun!" Old Dan roared. "Humph! Just you watch, I will make a system that will allow that little girl to reach the sky! Little girl, let me handle this. I will make sure to give that little girl justice and reclaim her lost years of life."
Kana chuckled, seeing how determined Old Dan was now. She also breathed a sigh of relief. She was glad that Old Dan was here to answer these questions and share his knowledge with her.
"What should I know about this lich race?" Kana asked. She figured she would get as much information as she can about them, so she is not walking in blind.
"Hmmm, They will probably try to make you their queen. You are the goddess of death, after all. You need not worry. They will most likely seek you out when you arrive on the continent." Old Dan replied. "Now, let me be. I am working on some things. Camlia, come help me with this." Old Dan had some kind of transparent window open and was taping on it.
"Hmm? Again!? Fine, but only because it is for my niece!" Camlia brows furrowed. She hated working alongside this old fool.
As the group camped outside the city of the dead to keep Kana company while she waited for Aoi, two months passed by when a young girl appeared in the air. She looked down at the sleeping dragon girl who was sprawled out on the ground without a care in the world and smiled. "It is good she is safe."
"She has waited all this time for your return." A black figure appeared next to her. He gazed up at the young girl feeling a bit jealous. But when his eyes rested on the crown upon her head, his eyes shot wide open. "The empress's crown!"
"Mmm… The one who was calling me was the previous empress." Aoi said softly as she reached out and pushed her finger on Naru's lips to keep him from yelling out any more and disturbing Kana. "Naru, you are the only elemental who is not to treat me special okay? You are my man, so you can not act differently than you normally do."
"Ah… right..." Naru lowered his head and then looked at his body and pouted. "I will need to hurry up and evolve again..."
"Hehe… You are still cute even at that size. Plus, what is the point of rushing things? We have all eternity. I am sure you will encounter many things in the future that will allow you to grow stronger faster." Aoi put her hand on Naru's head and leaned down, planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Mmm... I will work hard so that I can protect you no matter what." Naru said with determination flashing in his eyes.
"I will look forward to it." Aoi said softly as she floated down and sat next to Kana. She reached out and tucked a lock of Kana's hair behind her ear. "It's good to know nothing had happened to you while I was away..."
"Seems like you are here." Camlia walked over and smiled. "To think the water elemental my little sister contracted with is actually the future elemental empress. You will be in good hands following her around."
"I do not care about being an empress, I only want to be with my family. Naru, Kana, her husband, her kids, they are all my family. Kana taught me the importance of family." Aoi smiled as she said this. Kana had never treated them like objects. She had always treated them with care and love. Aoi felt lucky to have met Kana, the kind young girl who stumbled upon her deep underground that day.
"This is why you will make an excellent empress. Take care of my little sister when I am not around. She can do some crazy things sometimes." Camlia said as she laid back down on the ground and closed her eyes.
Aoi looked at Camlia and then back at Kana and smiled warmly. "You can count on it."
