Chapter 975: Invasion Part 1
With that close call, Kana decided she would need to add something to her disguise or she really might give away who she really was. Thinking of this, Kana entered the forest. She walked down the familiar path and smelled the fresh, clean forest air. She really did feel at peace inside the forest. "One day, I will walk through a forest with my Mother. Once I get her a proper body."
She would always make trips back to the ship where her mother preferred to stay. Eie had somehow tapped into the intergalactic network, and now her mother was addicted to a game called CyPunk Online.
Kana was actually kind of happy since her mother was able to play the game and have a body of her own within it. She had checked it out herself, but she knew she did not have so much free time. Bell and her kids, including her new grandbaby Francis also played it as well. However, Lysairth's headgear was specially made with the help of Angelica who used parts from the land of the dead to make it so that Lysarith could use it.
At least this way, those on the ship were no longer as bored. And could do as they pleased with ease. Knowing they were just fine even on her ship, Kana was happy. But she was surprised that the game they had been playing was so good that it had been the top deep dive game for a few thousand years now.
Scratching her head, Kana pursed her lips as she walked down the path, moving to the spot where she knew would have the herb she was looking for. She normally only did the request that had the same herbs each time she had time to come out to do things like this.
As Kana reached her location, she suddenly smelt a thick scent of blood. She sniffed the air and frowned before going in the direction the scent was coming from. When she was close, she could hear the sounds of fighting. "Someone go quick! Tell the guild to alert the empress!"
"You can't hold them off on your own!" Another voice yelled out. It sounded like two young men.
"It doesn't matter. Someone needs to notify the empress!" The young man yelled out.
As Kana made her way to the opening, she saw a large black portal on the ground, and skeletons were charging out of it in the thousands. There were two young men fighting them, both wearing Devan college uniforms. They were both in the immortal realm. "But…."
"It's fine. I heard you already." Kana's voice rang out, causing the two boys to turn their heads to look at the woman who was walking over. Kana had taken off her most perfect disguise since there was nothing she could do about this kind of situation. She looked at the skeletons and frowned.
But as she was inspecting the situation, because of her sudden appearance, one of the young men was stabbed through the shoulder by a pike. "Ahhh!"
Kana looked over and waved her hand, causing the two young men to fly back and land softly on the ground. She then waved her hand, creating a barrier around the skeletons who were in front of her. Only then did she turn to the young man who was stabbed and take out a pill from her space and hand it to the young man. "Pull the pike out and eat this."
"Thank you, Your Majesty. But what are you doing here?" the injured young man asked.
"On a stroll to clear my mind. But it seems instead of clearing it. More problems have arisen." She then turned to the uninjured young man and said: "Take him back and get the city. I will try to do something about the portal here." Kana had no idea what was going on, but she could feel these skeletons were quite powerful.
While Kana was inspecting the skeletons and trying to figure things out, inside the portal, deep within the dark recesses of the dark red lit realm, a skeleton sat on a bone throne and rested his head on his hand as he listened to the reports. "We have broken into the Ascended realm on this planet, Your Highness."
"Heh….. One of the sealed off worlds. It should have remnants of the ancient Telerian race. Once we have the key they hid in this universe. I can finally control the power of chaos. This little bit I have now is nothing. I will teach everyone in the void of oblivion that I, The Undead Emperor Kalos, am the only supreme being in existence!" Kalos's boney face showed no expression, but it still held an air of arrogance.
In another realm in the garden of Eden, the old man looked at what was going on with a frown on his face. "It seems there are still many things I did not know were being hidden in my own realms. But since that girl is there, this will be good training for her. I am sure she can overcome this challenge. I need to make a trip to the void of oblivion and get an explanation on this." The old man stood up and tore a hole in space before disappearing.
Kana turned the skeletons into nothingness before destroying the portal that had appeared on the ground. She had no idea if more of these were open or not, so she knew she needed to head back. But before she left, she quickly headed to the guild to turn her quest in. Only then did she run back to the palace. Only…. She forgot her mask and walked in bear faced. But yet, everyone still called her Sophia, not daring to say otherwise.
When she returned to her office, Xue walked up and bowed her head to her. "Xue, good timing. Tell the officials to gather. There had been an incident. The Devan Empire will now be going under lockdown procedures." After saying this, she reached out into space and grabbed Angelica, who was in the middle of bathing once again. "Mama!"
"Angelica, put something on and go to every surrounding kingdom and tell them we will be holding a joint meeting soon." Kana had a bad feeling that that portal was not the only one. And those skeletons were only on the immortal level, but those seemed to be an advanced squad and were meant to be weak to test them.
