Chapter 547: Spirit Body
"Ahhhh!" Rain yelled out in pain. There was nothing stopping the pain as it shot through every nerve in her body, causing all her muscles to spasm at the same time.
Gale was currently using a special spirit magic-infused knife to carve runes into Rain's body. Rain's blood dripped onto the floor non-stop, causing her face to be pale. Rune after rune was being carved at a quick speed. Gale knew just how much this process hurt and wanted to quickly get this over with. She felt bad for making Rain suffer like this, but this whole process was necessary in order to allow her body to go from being a mortal body to a spirit body.
Hours passed, and half of Rain's body was now covered in glowing blue runes. Gale looked at the blood pooling on the floor and frowned. But this was also necessary. To gain a spirit body, one must replace the blood flowing within them with spirit energy. These runes were doing just that while at the same time reforging all her cells and infusing them with spirit energy as well.
Rain did not ask for Gale to stop. Since she started this process, she would continue it until the end. She would endure no matter what happened. Even as her vision blurred due to blood loss, she would bite her tongue to make her wake up. No matter what, she had to see it all through until she was able to gain the right to enter the realm of spirits. She wanted to gain the power needed to stand next to her sisters.
A day and night passed, and Gale carved the last rune on the middle of Rain's forehead, causing all the runes on her body to flash brightly. A pain unlike any of the ones before shot through Rain's body as if her entire body was being ripped to shreds down to the cellular level. "AHHH!" Rain's ear-piercing scream echoed through the room she was in before she finally collapsed to the floor. If anyone were to see the sight of her body right now, they would probably vomit. It was as if her body had melted to slush. Even her bones seemed to have liquified.
Even though Rain was in a grotesque state, Gale did not flinch or seemed worried one bit. The slush that was once Rain slowly began to take shape once more, first the bones, then the brain and nervous system. Following that were her veins. Her muscles and ligaments all began to reform, followed by her organs. Finally, her skin began to form, and the runes that were carved into it had disappeared.
Her appearance did not change except for two things. First, her veins now glowed faintly under her skin, and as she opened her eyes, they were filled with spirit power that made them glow with a fiery blue. Her purple eyes were no longer visible behind the fiery blue of spirit energy.
But because of these changes, Rain was now able to see the ley lines that only spirits were able to see. "How is it? Any changes in your body besides the obvious?"
"Except my eyes that are ablaze with spirit energy and the fact that I feel ten times stronger than before, everything else is fine. But Gale, please do not make me go through that kind of pain again..." Rain whined. Not that it was over, she had to complain once!
"Haha! No, that was all the pain you needed to undergo for this time now, it is just training your mind. To read ley lines, you will need to train your mind to be able to take in large amounts of information which if you do not want pain, you will need to train hard. " Gale replied. She had her misgivings at first about Rain but seeing her tough through the whole process that many would not be able to endure really changed her mind. She now saw Rain as someone who truly wished to gain strength. Her drive to catch up to her sisters is strong.
Gale flew over and landed on Rain's head, sitting right behind her front horn, and leaned her back up against it as she said: "Don't worry. By the time you take the throne, you will be no weaker than your sisters."
"I hope so..." Rain could hope she could pass the trials. She felt this would be the only way for her to truly gain the strength she needed to break through to the sea of stars and beyond. Her goal was to meet up with her family and once again be together with them all like they used to be. She missed her Mama very much.
"Alright, enough rest. Let's get some spirit clothing on you and get you started with training. Spirits do not wear normal clothes. We wear what is called spirit clothing which is formed from our spirit energy." Gale flew up into the air and flew in front of Rain. She made her clothes disappear, leaving her floating there naked. "Now, as you just saw, my clothes turned back into spirit energy and flowed back into my body. This is because they are a part of me. Now watch."
Gale once again reformed her clothes. She was now wearing a pink floral one-piece dress. "As you can see, not only did I create a dress. But also the proper underwear." Gale lifted her dress to show her underwear underneath. "Your first task is to form your own spirit clothing and maintain it until you can wear it without even thinking about it. The best way to get started is to picture the clothing you want to wear in your mind then think about it forming on your body from your body. This may sound confusing so let's just start with something simple. Let's start with the underwear."
"Okay… here goes nothing…" Rain pictured a pair of plain white panties and bra in her mind and tried to picture it forming from her body onto her body. She felt a slight tingling sensation on her chest and crotch area but when she opened her eyes what she saw was nothing but white strings. She frowned as she looked at her first attempt. "Harder than it looks."
Rain did not seem to see the look on Gale's face that showed a hint of astonishment as she mumbled: "First try…"
