Chapter 875: Am I Part Of Some Chicken Race?
"Oh?" Kana's eyes lit up. She never thought that before she even reached the mainland, she would meet someone who would know where she could find demonic qi.
"Yes but…. This may be rude, but you do know divine beasts and humans are at war, right?" The old goat was sweating, but he had no choice but to ask this question to figure out this powerful being's intentions.
"Then wage war? I do not care about that." Kana yawned. She really did not care about the war on the main land as it had nothing to do with her.
When the old goat heard Kana's answer, he let out a sigh of relief. "Then please follow us. I will lead you there. Although we must be careful, the area we are heading to is within the newly conquered land of the divine beasts. If they detect my disciple and me, they will definitely come to kill us."
"Don't worry if anyone comes, I will make them leave." Kana was not going to let something happen to the old man who was willing to help her find what she was looking for. "Put your boat away. We will take mine. It has better defenses." Kana could sense that the flying boat they were on was a lower quality than her own.
"Alright." The old goat nodded while his disciple, Little An, stood there in silence, trying to comprehend what was going on. The girl, although a divine beast, seemed to be much more powerful than anyone she had ever met. And to top it off, she did not look much older than herself.
In just a few minutes, the group was on Kana's flying boat, headed in a new direction. Kana went back to her spot on the edge of the boat and sat down. The other two stood further away, looking out over the water. "Master, should we really be doing this? If she turns against us, we will both die!"
"Don't worry, Little An, even if things turn sour, I will protect you." The old goat replied with a warm smile. This was his only and last disciple. He raised her from a young age like his own daughter and taught her everything he knew. She was his pride and joy, and he had long ago decided he would give his life to protect her.
"But Master, what about you!?" Little An's eyes were filled with worry. She did not wish for her Master to die either!
"You both can be reassured that I could care less about some war that does not involve me. Let's just say if the divine beasts of this content try to stop us, I will deal with them even if it means making them disappear. Neither of you will die with me around." Kana could hear their whispers, and to try to put them at ease, she said what she said. The two looked at Kana before letting out small sighs. They wondered just how things would turn out. They really hoped the divine beast in front of them would keep her word.
The group flew for two days before finally reaching land. It was here that the old goat asked Kana to change directions. "The large mountain valley to the east is where there is a large quantity of evil qi. Although I am not sure how much is enough for you."
"Hmmm… It depends on how much there is. Can you tell me if this is the only place on this plane with such a spot?" Kana asked.
"As far as I know, there are no other places on this lower plane." The old goat answered.
"Then let's hope it is enough, or else I will need to go to the next plane," Kana muttered while pursing her lips. She looked at the mountain range that was far off and sighed. She then waved her hand, opening a rift in front of her big enough for the whole flying boat to fly through. Before the old goat and his disciple could say a word, they were already hovering above the mountain range.
Kana sent out her senses to scan the area but frowned when she felt hundreds of objects heading in her direction. "You two stay put. Do not move from this pot." Kana quickly put a barrier around the master and disciple pair and stood at the front of her flying boat with her eyes staring off into the distance. Soon many black dots could be seen flying towards her gradually getting bigger as they did.
"I can help you if you need it." The old goat offered. But Kana shook her head. She saw no need to even do anything. She watched as the hundreds of divine beasts all came to a stop in front of her.
"Who are you?" A divine beasts with fire feathered wings on his back yelled out as he looked at Kana with suspicion. He then looked at the humans behind her and frowned. "What are humans doing here? Are you a traitor of our kind!?"
"Huh? Why is meat yelling at me? Are you not just a chicken in human form?" Kana asked while tilting her head to the side. She slowly flew up into the air, and her body began to slowly expand and change form. Before the eyes of everyone there, a massive dragon the size of a city suddenly appeared. She opened her mouth, and a mighty roar that shook the lands was heard across the whole main land continent.
*Roooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!*
"What right do you have to question what I do? Traitor? Am I part of some chicken race? If you do not want to be turned into grilled chicken and have your bones to pluck what is left of you out from between my teeth, then I suggest for you to turn around now and go back to what every war you are raging. I have nothing to do with you divine beasts of this continent or of any other continent. If you do not want me as your enemy, then leave now. As of now these mountains are my territory."
