Chapter 210: Trial Of Survival/Dronic Dungeon Part 17
After opening the window and letting Aoi and Naru out to go search for the boss room doors, Kana laid back on the bed and closed her eyes. A few hours passed when a knock came at her door. Kana got up and opened it to find Cia standing there with a tray of food in her hands. "Sorry, dear, did I wake you?"
"No, it's fine. This is?" Kana asked, her eyes glued to the tray of food. The tray had two large pieces of seasoned roasted meat about half the size of Kana's head. Next to that was a large salad with lots of veggies. The plate also had three baked potatoes as well. Kana couldn't help but begin to drool just looking at it.
Cia smiled as she chuckled and handed the tray over. "It seems I do not need to ask if you are hungry or not."
Kana wiped her mouth and blushed. She couldn't help it since she had been eating plain meat for a few months now. "I... Umm… Sorry for the unsightly display."
"It's fine, dear. All living things need to eat. Eat what you can and save the rest for later to snack on. If you need more, just come down and ask. One thing this place doesn't lack is food supply." Cia patted her chest proudly as she said this.
Kana smiled and took a big whiff of the food on the tray. "Smells delicious. Thank you."
"No thanks needed, dear. Go eat while it is still hot." Cia smiled, turned around, and headed back downstairs.
Kana closed her door and locked it as she went back into her room which had a small table and chair up against one wall. She placed the tray down and sat down before digging into the food. As soon as she took a bite, the sensation on her taste buds as the seasoned meat that was cooked just right filled her mouth, caused Kana to squeal in happiness. In a matter of minutes, the food on the tray disappeared, and Kana, whose stomach was now protruding out, leaned back in the chair and gave a satisfied burp.
"I haven't had such a good meal in so long. So many floors had monsters but the meat…." Kana's body shivered just thinking about the tough, stringy meat she had to eat. "Since it is late, I will wash my clothes, bathe, then sleep. Tomorrow I will go out and check out the city, maybe get some info on any strange doors."
Dawn came, and a familiar sound of birds chirping entered Kana's ears. As her eyes opened, letting the morning light from the window pierce the darkness of her deep slumber, Kana had almost forgotten that she was in a dungeon. No matter how many times she had seen it, it felt strange to know that she was deep inside a dungeon with the sky high above that was blue with fluffy clouds floating around it was actually real. Or at least she could only assume it was real. But even still, she felt like each floor was its own little world. The diversity of each floor was different from the next. "Who or whatever made dungeons is really amazing. To be able to make so many small little worlds is quite crazy."
After another quick bath, Kana got into her now cleaned clothes and headed downstairs with the tray from the night before in her hands. When she reached the first floor, she saw Cia busying herself. "Oh, dear! Perfect timing, come eat breakfast before you head out."
Hearing there was food, Kana's eyes lit up once more. "Thank you, Cia!"
"What, thanks? It's this old women's job to make good food while the young ones eat it heartily. Seeing how you ate all the food I made last night, I will make sure to give you a light breakfast. Can't have such a beauty get fat now, can we?" Cia let out a laugh as she ran off to the kitchen.
Kana couldn't help but smile. Cia was a cheerful person who had a lot of charisma. It would be hard not to like her. Kana found a seat and sat down. She leaned back in her chair and looked up at the ceiling. At that time, a few of the inn's guests made their way out, two females and one male.
When the male saw Kana, his eyes opened wide, and a strange smile appeared on his face. He walked over to Kana, leaving his two companions behind. The two girls frowned as they followed the man. "Little Lady, new around here?"
Kana raised her head and looked at the man. She then looked at the two girls who were staring daggers at her and sighed as she mumbled under her breath. "Even in dungeons I got idiots walking to their death… "
Kana did not want to deal with this man so she decided to try to ignore him to see if this would accomplish anything. Who knew the man would be so persistent? He seemed to be a little offended that Kana completely ignored him when he was standing right next to her. With a bit of anger in his voice he said: "Little Lady, can you hear me? I am talking to you." All while reaching out to grab Kana's shoulder.
Kana brow wrinkled as she grabbed the man's wrist before it could touch her and squeezed it tightly. A cracking sound could be heard as the man yelled out in pain. "If you know I know you are next to me yet I still ignore you doesn't that mean I want nothing to do with you? Can't you see that you female companions are glaring at me just because you came over to talk to me?"
"Ahh! Let go! Let go!" The cracking of his hand got louder and louder as more of his bones got crushed under Kana's strength.
"What's all the racket!?" Cia's voice echoed throughout the room. "Deeder it's you again!"
