Chapter 372: The Klipriron Continent
[AN: Bonus Chapter 4/5]
When Kana finally opened her eyes, she was met with a set of innocent looking golden eyes blinking back at her. But instead of being surprised, Kana's lips curled up into a smile as she reached out and hugged the young girl in front of her. "It's good that you came back safely."
"Mmm..." Aoi hummed as she felt Kana's warmth.
"Since you are back, we can finally set off. " Kana stretched and stood up. She walked over to where everyone was chatting away and said: "I will be taking off. Camlia, Mel, Old Sa. Thank you for everything. Old Dan, Milie, thank you for helping my daughter."
"Always so serious!" Camlia said with a smile. She got up and gave Kana a hug. "Take care of yourself. I will make sure my little niece gets all kinds of good perks out of this old man."
"Hehe… Then I will be counting on you. Do me a favor and tell Sei and Yuthia thanks and that I will visit them when I get back." Kana felt lucky that the people around her cared so much for her. She had built a circle of friends and family that were very important to her.
"I will. I will also tell Yana what is going on so she won't worry." Camlia replied.
"Thank you." Kana then turned to the others and bowed. But before she could take off, Milie walked over and gave Kana a big hug as well. "Hurry up to the soulist realm so we can pick on master together."
"I will. Take care of yourself until then. Make sure that old man is not peeping on me." Kana said, hugging Milie back. "Alright, everyone, I am off!"
With that, Kana, along with Aoi and Naru, flew off into the sky. Her destination was the Klipriron continent. From the directions she got from Old Dan, the Klipriron continent was the most southern continent and was far, far away from the other continents. As she flew out over the water, she saw a familiar figure sitting on top of a massive monster swimming along, patrolling the waters. She chuckled when she saw him look up and then, in a panic telling the monster under him to dive down.
Her new flying speed was much faster than before. As a goddess, she no longer felt tired. She could fly for days or months without issue. But Kana still liked to take small breaks to take in the sights around her. This was because soon, she would be moving on to the realm of gods.
After flying for six months, Kana finally spotted a landmass surrounded by thick fog. "This should be it."
Kana flew down to the shore and landed softly. She looked around and saw that the whole place seemed devoid of life. Dead trees filled the landscape, but at a second glance, she could see monsters roaming around, but they looked very odd. "Kana, I do not think those monsters are technically alive in a normal sense."
"Mmm.. they are more like zombies the devils used but not mindless. They seem to have their natural instincts and intelligence. My guess is that this is what the Lich race is able to do. This is a good sign." Kana's eyes grew excited. The Lich race was definitely the race that could help her with Lysairths soul. "Let's go. We need to find the settlement that Old Dan told me about. That should be where the higher intelligent liches are."
Kana took a step forward, and for some reason, he felt at home in this place. She was not sure if this was because she was the goddess of death or not, but this land felt at one with her entire being. It was a dead and desolate place filled with undead creatures, but it was like she had returned home.
"This place is very peaceful..." Naru suddenly spoke up. He also had the same feeling about this place as Kana did. Aoi stayed silent. She could feel through her connection to Kana that Kana felt the same way. To her thought this place was creepy and filled with death.
Surprisingly no matter how close Kana got to any of these monsters, they all lowered their head to the ground. Kana, step by step, made her way deeper into this unknown land. Her bare feet allowed her to feel the dry and cracked surface of the land. After almost two hours of walking, Kana felt someone powerful heading her way. She stopped her steps and waited. Old Dan had said that the lich race would most likely seek her out once she stepped onto the continent. And it seemed his words were true.
Ten minutes later, a tall male skeleton with tattered red robes and a rusted silver crown on its head was standing in front of her bowing to her as he said: "To think my lich race would have the pleasure of the goddess of death to make a visit here. My name is Keniil, and I am the current Lich King."
"It is nice to meet you, Keniil. My name is Kana, and I have come to request help from your people. But I am not sure if you will be able to help." Kana explained politely. On the outside, she showed no change in her expression, but on the inside, she was very anxious. All her hope was relying on this race's ability.
Keniil looked up at kana in surprise, but when he took a closer look, he finally understood. "If it is the soul within you, my people can help. Although we can not give her a real body, we can at least revive the soul inside so that it can take its former shape."
Kana's eyes lit up when she heard this. She bowed her head and said, "Thank you."
"No thanks needed. It is my lich race's pleasure to be able to help the new goddess of death. If you will follow me." Keniil motioned with his hands for Kana to follow before taking the lead.
Naru floated up to kana's ear and whispered: "Be careful. Do not let them touch your soul. I have a feeling it would be very bad."
