Chapter 803: Into The Void Of Oblivion Part 1
Hearing the booming voice overhead made Kiliffia freeze for a second before feeling very confused. She did nothing but step on the stairs and passed the trial, if one could call that a trail. With mixed feelings as she tilted her head to the side before rotating her shoulders a bit and stepping on the next step. "Trial Passed!"
Hearing the same thing once more, Kiliffia once again, she wondered if this was just how the test went. But with each step, Kiliffia kept getting the same response. No questions, no nothing. She climbed step after step until she was high in the sky.
Finally, when she reached so high that the ground below her was masked out by billowy white clouds did, she stop and mumbled: "Is the test broken?"
"No. As this test is a test to test the mortals of this world to see if they are worthy of ascending to the realms above, and as you are already a goddess, there is no reason for you to be asked a question. You can climb the stairs freely." Kiliffia almost fell off her step when the voice that kept saying trial passed suddenly echoed in the air with a long explanation.
But the voice's words brought up another question. "How do you know I am a goddess?"
"You are not hiding your divinity. It is quite easy to tell if one looked close enough." The voice answered.
Kiliffia pursed her lips. She had no idea that she was excreting divinity. "Then what are you?"
"I am everything…. And everything is me." The voice answered.
"Then what are the realms above? This planet is not supposed to have any more realms." Kiliffia had made sure to ask the old man all about this planet, so she had as much information on it as possible, and he told her straight out that there were no other realms on this world. It was not like her old planet. The universe she was in was a whole different one altogether.
"Oh? Someone told you that there were no realms above? Now, this is truly interesting. I have no idea why they would lie to you." The voice seemed confused as it spoke. But at this moment, Kiliffia was unsure of what to think.
She tapped her chin for a few seconds before looking up into the sky. The stairs continued forward as far as the eyes could see, as if they were going out into outer space. "The one who sent me to this world is the god of creation himself. He would not lie to me. So what proof do you have that there is another realm on this world and not just a set of stairs that goes into outer space? I mean, it's not like the void of space can kill me. So what is the point of making me continue upwards?"
"Proof, you ask?" The voice question before going silent. "If it is proof you seek, then I will allow you to peek into the void….."
Kiliffia's eyes grew wide as the sun seemed to disappear from above her, replaced with a tear into the sky. In this tear was sparking lights like stars, but they moved along a liquid surface. While it was a stunning sight, Kiliffia had no time to admire the space in front of her. The pressure coming out of the tear was so heavy that her whole body was already soaked in sweat, and she was already kneeling down. "What you are seeing is the Void of Oblivion. If you enter this place, the power you seek to overwhelm all those of this lower heaven will come true. But only enter if you wish to grow strong. While you will not be able to stay there for a long period of time. You will be able to gain enough power to reach your goals."
Kiliffia bit her lip. The pressure coming from within was indeed that of a higher power, something she had never felt before. She wondered if the old man knew about this or not. Kiliffia clenched her fist and looked at the stairs leading up. She needed power. She needed real power to stand by Kana's side. "Then I will continue…."
"Mmmm… You may climb without worry. Once you reach the top, you will see the door to Oblivion. I wish you a safe jour….. So you have come…." The voice sounded a bit displeased.
"You opened the gate to Oblivion and expected me to not appear?" An Old man appeared in front of Kiliffia.
"She asked for proof. So I gave your proof." The voice replied.
"It's fine. I actually sent her here because of this. I need you to assign one of your most powerful watchers, a female one, to guard her during her trials in the other realm."
"Oh? Is she to be your successor?" The voice asked, seemingly intrigued.
"No. She is not. She is the helper to the one who would succeed me. You know more than anyone time is limited for us beings of the lower heavens when we cross into the upper heavens. Most can't even move under the pressure of the upper heavens." The old man replied while turning around and placing his hand on Kiliffia's head. "I will temporarily give you part of my power. It will help you to overcome the trials ahead of you. You will have a maximum of one thousand years of training there. Go and train. When you feel you are ready to leave, ask your watcher. They will help you return."
"One thousand years….. Can you…." Kiliffia was having some misgivings about this. She wanted to see her family once more before she left.
"Take this and record a message onto it. I will deliver it for you." The old man handed Kiliffia the same orb that Kana received from the old man that she used to send her daughters messages.
"Th-Thank you….." Kiliffia looked at the orb before activating it and began leaving a message to all her loved ones. She wanted them to all know that one day she will return no matter what and that she loved them all as well as another threat to her husband about never cheating on her or else.
