"Let me at it!"
Cayden stepped forward, his jaw set in determination. With a roar, he unleashed massive energy
pressure and launched a series of rapid-fire cultivation methods and martial arts skills at the arrays.
The gods of chaos, however, remained unimpressed.
"Do you really think you can break the arrays with your puny strength?"
they called out mockingly.
They chortled smugly amongst themselves.
They were so certain their arrays would hold.
"See? Didn't I say not to worry?
These cultivators from the outside worlds are no match for us at all!"
"Unlike them, we aren't just all talk.
We're the real deal!"
The sixteen gods of chaos burst out laughing as they continued to watch Cayden struggle with the
arrays in vain.
"Who do these outsiders think they are?
They're obviously way in over their heads!"
they hooted.
Anakin grunted in frustration.
"Let's try breaking the arrays together!" he called out to his companions.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As one, Anakin, Cayden, and the water source beast simultaneously launched attacks strong enough
to make the air tremble.
Crash! Boom!
At the force of the attacks, space-time started to ripple, as if it would break asunder at any moment.
But it was futile. The three gave everything they'd got but they didn't make even a dent on the arrays.
The arrays were far too powerful.
There were far too many of them, too.
The sixteen gods of chaos had arranged the arrays together so that they overlapped densely in
complex formations.
This was why even the combined efforts of Anakin, Cayden, and the water source beast weren't
enough.
The three were starting to get desperate.
They started to get the sinking feeling it was impossible to break through the arrays.
"Austin, it seems we're trapped!
We may get stuck here just like Braden,"
Anakin finally blurted out, abject worry in his voice.
Austin snapped out of his reverie.
"Hm? What was that?"
He hadn't been paying attention to the exertions of his companions all this while. He had been focusing
his energies on closely studying the arrays.
"I said even if we all work together, we can't break through.
These arrays are just too strong!"
Anakin said exasperatedly, throwing his hands up.
Austin smiled.
"Not to worry, Anakin.
I think I've figured it out.
Give me a moment.
I can get us out of here,"
Austin told him calmly.
Anakin's brows shot up.
"Really? Are you serious right now?" he asked with a small glimmer of hope in his eyes.
Austin nodded.
"Yes. Trust me.
These arrays aren't as tough as you think."
Austin smirked.
Relief washed over Anakin.
He broke out into a grin.
"I believe you. Do what you must."
At this, the water source beast let out a chuckle, too.
"You have my faith, too, Austin.
You've never let us down!"
he said, smiling while shaking his head.
Seeing Austin so sure of himself dispelled any doubts he had about their situation.
Throughout the course of their journey, Austin's array cultivation base had never failed them.
Cayden started beaming as well.
"For sure!
Why should we doubt your ability now?"
Cayden whooped in triumph.
The sixteen gods of chaos frowned as they saw the group suddenly cheering up.
"How arrogant! You think you can break the arrays set up by the sixteen of us?
Dream on!"
one of them snorted.
"That's right!
It'd be impossible for one human to break all of the arrays we set together!
Just give up!
Stop bluffing!"
another one exclaimed, rolling his eyes.
The others likewise just shook their heads and smirked.
They were, after all, the gods of chaos from the Array Cosmos. No one could beat their array skills.
They had always been the most powerful array cultivators in this cosmos.
Austin shrugged.
"I'm not bluffing.
Just watch me."
Indeed, Austin already had a preliminary understanding of the arrays after closely observing them for a
while.
He knew it wouldn't be long before he'd break through all the arrays trapping Brayden.
The gods of chaos howled in disbelief.
"You have our attention, brat!
Let's see what you've got!"
the sixteen gods of chaos challenged.
They trained their eyes on Austin expectantly.
By this time, Anakin, Cayden, and the water source beast had ceased their attacks and stepped aside.
They patiently waited for Austin's move.
Austin continued to sit cross-legged, releasing his spiritual soul force and array energy to analyze and
study the arrays in front of him.
As time went by, he gradually developed a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the
arrays in front of him.
He kept studying the arrays one after another.
In time, he had thoroughly studied every array.
He was pleased to find that his array skills had gotten sharper again.
'I didn't expect my array skills to be improved so much after I entered the Frigid Continent!'
Austin thought to himself.
He made one last sweep of observing the arrays.
Finally, his head snapped up.
'Done.
I've got it.
I can now break the arrays with a wave of my hand,'
Austin thought to himself, a smirk pulling at his lips.
He rose steadily to his feet.
"Well, Austin? Can you do it?
Can you get Braden out?"
Anakin and Cayden asked Austin anxiously, rushing forward to his side.
Austin let out a barking laugh.
"Absolutely.
These arrays are no problem at all."
Upon hearing that, the sixteen gods of chaos just sneered and howled in derision.
They didn't believe Austin's words at all.
