"Well, what should we do?
The three masters of the spiritual race—Mordechai, Sergio, and Briar—looked extremely pale. They
were using their telepathic link to communicate with each other.
After talking for a while, they finally reached a decision.
"Humph!
Tell me, do you really think you're qualified to be the chief just because you have the spiritual heart?
If that's the case, then we're not convinced.
If you want to be the chief, you have to defeat all three of us first!" Mordechai roared.
"Ha-ha!
You make me laugh. I know you three old men won't easily admit defeat.
Well, then. Let me start with you," Kerwin laughed wildly.
Boom! Thump!
Above his head, the spiritual heart was emitting strange rhythmic rumbles as it beat so strongly and
forcefully.
Not too far away from him were countless runes of the spiritual race, moving quickly like a school of
fish swimming in the deep sea.
Now, the whole Spiritual Mountain was illuminated by the bright and strong spiritual light.
"Come on! Let's fight him together!"
Mordechai, Sergio, and Briar charged at Kerwin at the same time.
Boom!
Mordechai grew taller and taller. In an instant, he turned into a giant as tall as the sky itself. His eyes
were blazing with fire as he attacked Kerwin.
In each of his hands, he held a huge ax. Every time he swung them, the heaven and earth would
shake, and most of the creatures' spiritual souls would tremble in fear.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Beside him, Sergio drew out an old, sharp sword. An endless piercing aura spurted out from his sword.
Since the sword aura contained terrifying spiritual power, it could crush the spiritual souls of his
enemies with ease.
Swish!
A huge ancient book was constantly ruffling above Briar's head. Runes representing the history and
civilization of the spiritual race burst out from its pages.
"Go to hell, you brat!"
The three powerful cultivators of the spiritual race attacked Kerwin from different directions.
"Ha-ha! You all look so cute with your little tricks!"
Kerwin did not even try to suppress his laughter as he faced the attack of all three masters.
Meanwhile, the spiritual heart above his head kept spitting out intense spiritual soul energy, along with
runes of the spiritual race.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
All of a sudden, three huge fists which condensed in front of Kerwin blew up without warning.
Each fist packed an extremely violent spiritual power. Wherever it passed, it wiped out everything with
baleful momentum.
Splash! Crack! Bang!
Due to the attacks from both sides, endless shock waves of spiritual power rushed and crashed
randomly, drilling holes in the void.
The calamitous fighting power spread in all directions, almost causing the entire Spiritual Mountain to
collapse.
After a while, the fighting took a toll on them.
"Ahhh!"
Screams then filled the air.
Thud!
Three figures got thrown far away into the sky. Not long after, Mordechai, Sergio, and Briar, who
sustained injuries, all dropped to the ground.
At that moment, the battle finally came to an end. Kerwin put his hands behind his back, and his eyes
looked fierce and cold.
The black spiritual heart over his head was still beating vigorously, emitting a menacing aura that could
shake the entire cosmos and suppress every creature.
Dead silence then enveloped the entire Spiritual Mountain.
"Oh, you poor little things. Are you all right? Why don't I give you one last chance, hmm?
Tell me, would you prefer to surrender willingly and admit your defeat? Or should I just kill you?"
Seriously injured, the three masters remained in a trance.
"Oh, no! Please spare my life, Prince Kerwin.
I'm convinced!
I'm willing to recognize you as our new chief!" Mordechai cried out.
"I am willing to support you as our chief as well, Prince Kerwin!"
Sergio and Briar echoed in panic.
"Ha-ha! Of course, you are!"
Kerwin beamed in utter satisfaction and pride. He felt so appeased that his chuckle slowly turned into a
guffaw.
The silence throughout the Spiritual Mountain got perturbed with his roaring laughter.
He cracked up so hard that he needed to catch his breath before he spoke.
"Everybody, listen! I now declare that I, Kerwin, will be promoted to patriarch today!
If anyone else here is still not convinced, speak up now and let me beat him to death as well."
Kerwin's tone was incomparably arrogant and smug. He obviously looked down on all the members of
the spiritual race.
Although he had already issued the challenge, the surroundings remained quiet. Given his strength, no
one would dare to stand up and seek death.
Suddenly, in the dead silence, someone said, "I'm not convinced."
The others turned to look at the person in absolute shock.
"What the— Who's this guy? I don't think I've ever seen him before.
He seems to be working for Prince Rondo."
"How dare he talk back like that to Prince Kerwin? For sure, he's going to be dead meat!"
The crowd stared at the young man by Rondo's side in disbelief.
"Oh? Ha-ha! You're bold. Who are you? Tell me. Are you not afraid of death?
How dare you challenge me?!" Kerwin asked coldly, looking askance at the man.
Austin didn't even need to respond, since his slaves snapped back at Kerwin for him. "How dare you
talk to our master that way?!"
"Anyone who's rude to our master deserves to die!"
"Apologize now! Get down on your knees and kowtow to our master!"
Kerwin's insolent and condescending eyes had offended Austin's slaves. In their fury, they pointed at
Kerwin and cursed.
A while ago, the power Kerwin had definitely overwhelmed everyone. Hence, no one dared to oppose
him or say no to him.
However, the way Austin's slaves pointed and cursed at him angrily had caused a turmoil in them.
"How does he have the audacity to barge in here? Who the hell is he?!"
"Prince Kerwin is now the patriarch. How dare you be rude to him?!"
"It's you who should be apologizing and kowtowing to Prince Kerwin! You should all be beheaded!"
Kerwin also had quite a lot of slaves, so they cussed back at them as well.
None of them allowed others ridiculing their own masters.
As a result, the once quiet Spiritual Mountain had now been filled with loud, angry curses.
"Enough!"
Kerwin bellowed.
The spiritual heart over his head rippled vigorously, shaking the whole void as it spurted out rolling
power and spiritual soul runes.
It was evidently powerful in all respects.
In the blink of an eye, the curses stopped, and the Spiritual Mountain fell into dead silence once again.
"For you to dare to contradict me, you really are quite feisty.
Before I kill you, here's what you're going to do.
Tell me why you're so eager to challenge me," Kerwin asked coldly as he looked at Austin with
contempt.
After all the furor Austin caused, Kerwin made up his mind to kill him.
"Oh, that's simple.
It's because I don't like you.
I've decided to let him, instead of you, be the patriarch," Austin replied indifferently, pointing at Rondo.
He spoke as though he needed to spell everything out for Kerwin.
"Huh? What's he talking about?"
Austin's reason baffled the creatures all throughout the Spiritual Mountain.
"Seriously, who is this guy?
Why does he think he could just decide who the patriarch would be?
That's ridiculous!"
"You want him to be the patriarch? Ha! Young man, you've got to be kidding me!"
Even Kerwin couldn't believe what he had just heard from Austin's mouth. For a moment, he shifted his
scornful gaze from Austin to Rondo.
"That's right. I've made up my mind. Only he can be the patriarch, you hear me?
So, here's the deal. If you give me your spiritual heart right now and treat me politely, I will let you go.
What do you think?" Austin offered, making sure he spoke slowly and gently as though Kerwin was a
little child.
"Well..."
Austin's words dumbfounded most of the creatures around him.
Some even picked their ears, doubting if they had heard it right.
Obviously, such words had offended Kerwin.
However, what irked them the most was the fact that Austin didn't seem at all worried about Kerwin
killing him in his anger.
They all stared at him in shock and bewilderment.
