"Arrrgh!
Damn it!
Warner! Emmet! I will never forget this!"
Rollins' spiritual soul materialized from his battered and bruised physical body. He fled at full speed.
"Ha-ha! Do you think you can escape from us?" Warner mockingly glared. He had a sinister and
amused look as he raised his eyebrows scornfully.
Warner and Emmet were an iconic pair. They were known for being downright wicked and
ruthless―showing mercy to their victims was never an option. Their corrupt morals propelled to
summon the black sword and the red sword at once. They headed straight to Rollins' spiritual soul.
"Stand down!"
Alarmed, the other governing gods quickly dashed to save him.
However, to their dismay, they were already too late.
Before they could even reach his position, Rollins' spiritual soul was cut in half. He screamed in agony.
"Ahhhhh! Help me!" Rollins' broken spiritual soul frantically cried for aid.
He realized that his life was hanging on by a thread.
If his spiritual soul received another blow, he would die for good―he could no longer resurrect his
physical body.
One misstep could cause the old man's eternal demise. Timing was essential―they had to act fast or
suffer the consequences. The leader of the Long Sword Sect took out an orange gourd cask.
"Rollins, get inside!" he shouted at the battered spiritual soul.
Rollins' spiritual soul quickly transformed into a wisp of smoke. It then went straight into the gourd cask
and found its safety inside.
It was a high-level magic treasure, especially designed to imprison the enemy's spiritual souls. Putting
the spiritual soul inside was a quick-witted way to remedy the dire situation. Through this, Emmet and
Warner couldn't do any further damage.
"That was close! That guy almost got killed,"
Austin exclaimed and sighed in relief.
Irked that their victim escaped their grasp, Warner and Emmet madly roared, "All of you must die!"
They both dashed towards the other governing gods.
The governing gods also went in for the kill―they were not going down without a fight.
As soon as they were engaged in the battle, it immediately became violent and ferocious.
However, without Austin to assist them, the governing gods were once again at a disadvantage.
It was evident since they were forced to step back when they collided with Warner and Emmet.
The abyss violently shook as they continued with the bloodshed―it was like an earthquake of high
magnitude.
Thankfully, the great cosmos force was protecting the abyss. Hence, no damages were going to be
sustained.
Watching the violent encounter unfold before his eyes, Austin was deep in his thoughts―he was
brewing a plan.
'I need to find a way to significantly weaken Warner and Emmet until they can't fight back. Then, I'll
figure out a way to control them and make them explain how to absorb the great cosmos force here,'
Austin thought to himself.
His proficiency in swordsmanship would be a great asset to whichever party he chose to side on. With
an ally as potent as he was, it would spell immediate victory for them.
Since he had decided to subdue Warner and Emmet, he wasted no time and immediately intervened.
Austin started to perform the Mind Sword Skill again.
The sharp mind swords wreaked havoc inside Warner and Emmet.
"Ah! There it goes again!
Damn it! Who the hell is assaulting us?
What exactly are these attacks?"
Warner fumed.
"I got it. It's the mind power!
We are being attacked by the mind power!"
Emmet exclaimed.
"There is a master with extraordinary mind powers secretly attacking us!
Arrgh! It's too strong! I can't resist it!
I can't believe that there is someone who has such strong mind power!"
Emmet complained to Warner through his spiritual sense.
They had finally realized what was assaulting them.
The mind power was one of the rarest powers,
and only a few could master it.
Only a handful of cultivators who could be recognized as experts in it.
The mind power was so rare that some eras had no mind power experts at all.
As a result, most of them had forgotten about its existence. For the same reason, it took Warner and
Emmet a long time to figure out what was happening to them.
"You are right. It must be the mind power!"
Warner responded as he finally put two and two together.
"But who on earth is attacking us with the mind power?
Is he one of these governing gods?
I doubt it. I don't think any of these buffoons is good at mind power,"
Warner growled furiously.
"If it's not the governing gods, then it must be the other guy who has been here watching us fight the
whole time.
He has been hiding nearby,"
Emmet suggested.
"You mean Austin?
I can't believe that this brat can summon the mind power! Let alone cultivate it strong enough to hurt
us!"
Warner blurted out.
He was skeptical that Austin was the one using the mind power against them, but it seemed to be the
only reasonable explanation.
Except for Warner, Emmet, and the governing gods they were fighting against, Austin was the only
option left.
All the governing gods present were well-known in their origins, and they had earned their reputation
for an era in the Sword Cosmos.
Warner and Emmet knew them very well.
If one of them had strong mind power, it would have already spread throughout the cosmos. By
process of elimination, they were certain it was Austin.
"We underestimated that guy. Who knew that he is good at mind power?"
Emmet cursed through gritted teeth.
On the other hand,
Austin was preoccupied performing the Mind Sword Skill to attack Warner and Emmet repeatedly.
Just like the first time, they received terrible damage.
Their insides had been turned into a pulp by the mind sword.
Warner and Emmet felt the sharp pain from the inside, their faces closed in a grimace, and their skin
was starting to look pale and clammy. They roared loudly, consumed by a pain that knew no end or
limit.
The fact that they did not know how to handle the attacks was adding fuel to the fire. They didn't know
how to resist the Mind Sword Skill Austin unleashed.
As a result, the mind sword kept hurting them―it felt like it was going to last forever.
This made it harder to endure.
"Austin, get your ass out!"
Warner was on the verge of breaking down.
"Come out and face us fair and square, you brat! Stop using these dirty tricks."
Emmet was livid. Contorted in excessive pain, he furiously screamed.
Distracted by Austin, Warner and Emmet found it hard to deal with the governing gods, and their
fighting power had drastically decreased.
"What's going on?"
Albeit surprised, the governing gods were very pleased to find that the pair had a hard time pouring
their full attention upon them.
The same thing happened a few moments ago.
"Are they talking about Austin?
Could it be that..."
"Is Austin causing a distraction?"
Hearing Warner's and Emmet's angry roars, the governing gods were confused.
"Whatever his reasons are, that's none of our business. But we need to take this opportunity to take
them out.
If we let this chance slip, it will be difficult for us to kill them,"
an elderly governing god advised his allies through his spiritual sense.
"You have a good point.
It doesn't matter what Austin is up to or what games he is playing. Let's get rid of Warner and Emmet
while we still can."
The other governing gods nodded.
At this point, Warner and Emmet were significantly weaker compared to their full potential.
It was the perfect opportunity to finish them off.
"Kill them!"
All the governing gods surrounded Warner and Emmet, and they poured forth their best abilities. The
void around them collapsed and turned into oblivion.
"There we go. Let me help you!"
Austin was very satisfied with the cooperation of the governing gods. Their attacks were also beneficial
to his objective.
He activated the Mind Sword Skill,
and it kept attacking Warner and Emmet.
"It's such a pity that cultivating the mind power is very difficult!
I have made little progress in it.
I could only wound the governing gods using the Mind Sword Skill.
In actual combat, the best I can do is distract the governing gods with it.
I need to improve my mind power.
I have to work hard to cultivate it further, and try to turn it into one of my trump cards once I'm backed in
a wall during my fights,"
Austin swore to himself.
