Faced with Austin's incomparable powers,
the maternal tree was both frightened and angry.
Now that it had realized that it was no match for the young human in front of it, it didn't know what to
do.
In its panic, it went berserk and shrieked,
"I'll fight you to the death, human brat!"
Its branches shot out and pierced through the void one after another,
constantly aiming for Austin and trying to attack him.
At the same time, green chains of law zoomed towards Austin like a swarm of locusts,
intending to bind him.
However, Austin was continuously shooting chains contained the power of the law of reincarnation that
were densely packed, attacking the maternal tree.
Compared to the green chains released by the maternal tree, these chains were much more powerful.
In fact, Austin had cultivated the law of reincarnation to such an extent that it was only slightly inferior to
the level of the ultimate law, which was almost unthinkable for anyone else.
Therefore, he was by no means weaker than the maternal tree. Even though he was fighting against
such a powerful ancient being, he was not at a disadvantage. In fact, he had the upper hand in this
battle.
The maternal tree knew this as well, and grew more and more hysterical.
"Get out of here!" it shrieked helplessly.
The governing gods of the wood puppet race who were watching from a distance became restless as
well.
"Damn it! The maternal tree is in trouble. Let's go and help her," one of them yelled before charging
forward. The rest of the governing gods followed as well.
Although the maternal tree was in trouble, the governing gods could barely get over the astonishment
of their sacred tree being overpowered by a mere human being.
After all, the maternal tree was basically the mother of all the members of the wood puppet race.
But despite their shock, the governing gods quickly leaped into action. If their maternal tree was
destroyed, the entire wood puppet race would be annihilated and would not have any descendants
from now on.
This universe would never see a new member of the wood puppet race again.
Therefore, keeping the maternal tree safe was of the utmost importance for them.
"Let's go over and help the maternal tree fight against the enemy!
We can't allow anything bad to happen to our maternal tree,"
one of the governing gods roared as he rushed towards Austin from afar.
"Fuck off," Austin said lightly without even looking at the horde of governing gods approaching him.
He simply swatted them away like flies.
In an instant, all the governing gods of the wood puppet race were flung away.
From here, it was impossible to see where they landed.
Seeing that Austin had defeated all these ordinary governing gods in a single move, the rest of the
members of the wood puppet race were shocked.
"Damn it! We have to do something. The maternal tree is in trouble," one of them said anxiously.
"That's right.
If anything bad happens to our maternal tree, our wood puppet race will be doomed," another agreed.
These remaining members of the wood puppet race also rushed towards Austin together.
Although they knew that Austin was a formidable opponent that they could never defeat, they couldn't
stand by and do nothing either.
After all, the fate of the maternal tree, and in turn, the fate of their whole race, was at stake.
This was a cause worth laying down their lives for, especially because they were going to die either
way.
As such, it wasn't just governing gods who rushed towards Austin, but also ordinary members of the
wood puppet race. They charged at Austin one after another like moths darting into the fire.
Austin was still as unperturbed as ever.
"Fuck off," he said nonchalantly,
shooting out steaks of sword light in all directions.
Several of the wood puppets were sent flying back into the void.
Then, Austin slapped the governing gods of the wood puppet race one at a time,
sending them flying as well.
None of them, not even the strongest of their governing gods,
was able to resist his attack even a little.
It seemed that Austin could annihilate an entire race without so much as lifting a finger. How could one
person have that much power?
"No way!
How did you become so strong, human brat?
It has only been a short while,"
the maternal tree exclaimed, shaking its branches madly.
As the mother of an entire race, the tree had seen several miraculous things during its lifetime, but
none so shocking as the young human in front of it.
"Humph! How dare you lie to me back then?
It's time for you to pay for what you did in the past,"
Austin sneered with a merciless glint in his eyes.
The maternal tree froze, not knowing what to do. The truth was, it was so overpowered that it was
difficult for it to hold on any longer.
Never in its wildest dreams had it imagined that this human would reappear in front of it, let alone with
so much power.
"What do you want, brat? Tell me," it said, trying to hold on to the last shred of its pride even as it
attempted to negotiate with him.
However, Austin was well aware of the reality of its situation.
"What do I want?
What I want now is to beat you up. If you're still alive after that, I'll slowly settle the score with you,"
Austin sneered.
"Arrogant boy!
Don't think that I'm afraid of you," the maternal tree retorted, fuming.
It couldn't believe the impertinence of this mere human. However, it had no way to punish him or make
him learn a lesson. After all, it was now much weaker than him. As Austin continued to attack it, it had
no choice but to retreat bit by bit.
Bursting into laughter, Austin asked,
"Why do I feel that you are afraid of me now?"
Getting impatient, he used the law of reincarnation and the power of reincarnation to firmly suppress
the maternal tree.
At the same time, he continuously punched and kicked the trunk of the maternal tree without leaving
any gaps for it to relax.
All the while, the maternal tree kept retreating with no other means of defense. All the members of its
race had been defeated by Austin already.
The most powerful skill it possessed was a trace of the ultimate law.
Unfortunately, this advantage had already been offset by Austin.
Moreover, Austin was much stronger than it in all the other aspects.
Therefore, the maternal tree was literally cornered by this human.
As Austin's fists kept hitting the trunk of the maternal tree,
the latter slowly felt itself losing all its power.
"Is our wood puppet race really going to be annihilated today?"
In the distance, the remaining governing gods of the wood puppet race watched the one-sided battle
with desperate looks on their faces.
They knew that if the maternal tree was destroyed, the whole wood puppet race would be doomed.
"Stop!
Human brat, stop!
I admit defeat,"
the maternal tree shouted all of a sudden. Although it wanted to uphold its pride, the continuity of its
race was more important to it.
"Oh?"
Austin stopped attacking and shot the maternal tree a curious look.
"I admit defeat. Young man, I'm at your disposal.
But please let our wood puppet race go.
We don't have a large population as it is. If you annihilate us, we will go extinct,"
the maternal tree explained humbly.
But Austin sneered in response.
"Do you think I care whether your race goes extinct or not?
All I know is that your wood puppet race provoked me first."
Feeling helpless, the maternal tree asked,
"Fine, then what do you want? I'll give you anything."
Austin's face relaxed, and a smirk appeared at the corner of his lips.
"Tell me, why should I let you go?"
After a moment of silence, the maternal tree solemnly declared,
"You want the secret of mind power and the law of life of our wood puppet race."
"Not bad. You're smart at least,"
Austin said with a faint smile.
"The secret of mind power and the law of life are the inheritance of our wood puppet race,"
the maternal tree stated hesitantly. Naturally, it was reluctant to give the inheritance to Austin, even if it
was its last resort.
"I'm not forcing you to do anything.
But you have to pay the price for provoking me one way or another,"
Austin said flatly.
The maternal tree fell into silence again.
Then, it looked into the distance at the wood puppets. Slowly, its face hardened, and it turned back to
Austin with its mind made up.
"All right.
I'll do it.
Since it's our fault,
I'll give you the secret of mind power and the law of life."
