Chapter 1197: Stop It. I’m Trying to Tell Xi About How A Couple Should Get Along with Each Other
Nian Xi appeared at a loss for words.
So, he was thinking that way.
“Well, I think he’s nice. Why don’t you like him?” Nian Xi exhaled.
Nian Justing pressed his lips together silently.
How could he possibly like him? That boy had pissed him off so many times.
Luosang patted Nian Xi on the shoulder and whispered, “Ignore him. That boy is so outstanding even someone like your brother can be jealous of him at times.”
“I get it.” Nian Xi was enlightened.
Pulling a long face, Nian Junting said, “Xu Luosang, what are you talking about? I’m jealous of Jiang Yuning? That’s absurd. Is he as good-looking as I am? Is he as good at making money as I am? Is his EQ as high as mine…”
Luosang interrupted him impatiently and said, “Can you get a girl out of a sealed room on the ninth floor that’s on fire?”
Nian Junting clenched his fists, coughed slightly, then changed the topic. “Since you’re okay, I think I’m gonna go,” he said to Nian Xi. “Next week is Apple’s hundred-day-old party. Don’t forget.”
“Brother dear, you still haven’t answered your wife’s question.” Nian Xi didn’t plan to let him off the hook so easily.
Nian Junting felt humiliated. He glared at her and answered truthfully, “I can’t do that.”
“Well, when choosing a boyfriend, I think the most important thing is that the boy can protect you,” said Luosang blandly. “Jiang Yuning saved your life. He did it. So, I think you can seriously think about the thing between you and that boy.”
Nian Xi hesitated with a surprised expression and couldn’t help but ask, “What about shared interests and all that other stuff?”
“Do you really think your brother and I have any shared interests?” Luosang threw the question right back at her.
“You’re right,” said Nian Xi. “My brother can end a conversation with three words. How did you manage to get along with him? I was shocked at first.”
“What do you mean?” Nian Junting wasn’t happy hearing that. “I’m still here, holding our son, alright?”
The two girls ignored him. Luosang said to Nian Xi, “Sometimes, you don’t need shared interests and goals. I think tolerance is more important. Your brother likes movies and TV shows about the Anti-Japanese War, but I never watch them. Every time he talks to me about how great the Chinese armies are or how marvelous a commander was, I listen to him while doing other things and then forget about it immediately.”
Ahem. Looking at her brother’s sourpuss, Nian Xi couldn’t help clearing her throat to remind Luosang. “Sangsang, my brother’s still here.”
Smiling indifferently, Nian Junting added, “I didn’t know you never listened to what I was saying.”
Luosang rolled her eyes and answered, “Stop it. I’m just trying to tell Xi about how a couple should get along with each other.”
“What you said isn’t right,” Nian Junting said angrily.
“Okaay. So then let me ask you something: What shared interest do you think we have?” asked Luosang.
Hmm. Nian Junting spent some time pondering this question but failed to come up with one thing.
“Sex?”
Nian Xi, who was taking a swig of water, did a spit take at her brother’s answer.
Luosang’s cheeks turned bright red. She regretted asking that question.
“That doesn’t count…”
“No, it doesn’t.” Nian Junting suddenly got interested in that topic. “Every time we quarrel, we make up by having fantastic sex. Besides, having sex has brought us closer to each other. So I would say that harmony between a couple is very important.”
Luosang went silent.
He was right.
As the conversation became racier, Nian Xi felt like crying. “Brother, Sangsang. If your only shared interest is sex, what’s been keeping you guys together all this time?”
…
