Chapter 1054: Belt
“Jiaojiao, we don’t have events to attend tomorrow night. Let’s go shopping,” Yan Su said.
Jiaojiao nodded but was surprised to hear that. Yan Su rarely suggested going shopping.
…
The next day, Yan Su took part in the recording of a local Hong Kong Show. It was about 8 p.m. when she finished.
The nightlife in Hong Kong was rich. Yan Su put on a mask before walking to a large shopping mall with Jiaojiao. Once inside, they found some paparazzi following them. Getting rid of them was impossible, but she had no time to shop the next day.
“Since Mo Liuxi helped me, he wanted me to buy him a belt, but there’re paparazzi following us,” Yan Su said. “Let’s pretend that it’s you who are shopping for a man’s belt and I’m only keeping you company.”
“Alright.” Jiaojiao laughed and said, “His purpose is pretty clear.”
Yan Su’s cheeks turned red cheeks. She said, “He insisted. I just couldn’t say no.”
That’s probably a lie, Jiaojiao thought, but she still agreed to Yan Su’s plan.
They walked into Hermés. Yan Su pretended to follow behind Jiaojiao and look around. They finally chose a brown belt.
The next day, there was still news about Yan Su shopping for a men’s belt. The article was titled, “Yan Su Carefully Chose a Belt, probably for Her Boyfriend.”
People started guessing who her boyfriend was. Any male star with whom she had worked was mentioned. Some said that Mo Liuxi won Yan Su’s heart by helping her during a critical situation, so she was buying the belt for him.
Yan Su’s team quickly published a statement to explain that she was only giving suggestions for her assistant, who had been shopping her boyfriend.
The news was soon forgotten by most people but not Mo Liuxi. In his mother’s villa, he read the news and smiled.
Mo Jin passed by and happened to see his smile. She was surprised and asked,. “My son, what are you reading? Why are you smiling so happily? Are you OK?”
Mo Liuxi immediately dropped his phone, stood up, and blandly said, “Nothing. Let’s have lunch. I’ll head back to my apartment afterward.”
“Would it kill you to stay here for the night?” Mo Jin asked. “You can’t even make dinner by yourself.”
“I’ll order take-out,” Mo Liuxi said as he headed upstairs.
Mo Jin frowned as she watched him walk upstairs before heading into the kitchen. Xu Zhengxuan was cutting vegetables.
Seeing her come in, he grinned and asked, “What were you and Liuxi talking about?”
“Do you think he’s being a little weird?” Mo Jin asked. “He’s talking about getting back to his apartment all the time as if he had left his heart there.”
Xu Zhengxuan paused briefly and said, “I think it’s normal. A 20-year-old boy can be rebellious. They don’t like spending time with their parents. You know, the kid is going to get married someday. We’re getting old. We should keep each other company. Isn’t that right? When do you think we can get married?”
“Piss off!” Mo Jin rolled her eyes. She knew she shouldn’t talk to him about it.
…
It was 1 a.m. when Yan Su got out of the van outside her apartment. She was exhausted. As she made her way up to her building, she saw someone sitting on a stone stool. The man was wearing a brown wind coat. His legs were stretched, and his head was dropped. It seemed like he was falling asleep.
Yan Su recognized him at first glance. She unwittingly slowed down and walked up to him.
She gently said, “Liuxi…”
Mo Liuxi sprung up once he heard her voice.
“You came back,” he said with a drowsy voice.
