Yan Su was a little awkward. It sounded as if it was her wishful thinking.
It was a ridiculous thought though.
“I’m not sure yet, I’ll only find out when I check in.”
“Alright, let me know then. Don’t make me call you to ask.”
After she checked in, Yan Su texted Mo Liuxi before heading into the bathroom for a shower.
As she was putting on a mask, the doorbell rang.
When she opened the door, it was a member of the hotel staff.
He handed over a bag of packed goods. “Hello, someone had just ordered doggie noodles, fried fish skin, and milk tea for you.”
“Thank you.” Yan Su took the bag and shut the door. She quickly called Mo Liuxi. “You ordered supper for me?”
“Why, did someone send you supper?” Mo Liuxi sounded upset over the phone.
“It wasn’t you?” Yan Su sounded disappointed. “It might have been Jiaojiao then.”
“So you assumed it was me immediately?” Mo Liuxi laughed. “Are you missing me a lot?”
Yan Su blushed. She regretted calling him instantly. “Don’t read too much into this, I just thought… no one would be as bothersome as you. I wonder who sent it though, it smells good…”
“Hmm, I’m sure it smells good, I ordered it from the best store in Mongkok,” Mo Liuxi said suddenly.
Yan Su was stunned. She could hear her heartbeat. “Stop lying to me, you already said it wasn’t you. Who knows if you’re telling the truth now?”
“Look at the bill then, it’s one hundred and two dollars.” Mo Liuxi laughed.
Yan Su rummaged through the plastic bag and found the receipt. She was shocked. “How did you do it?”
“I have friends in Hong Kong. I contacted someone and he knew where the best supper is. Don’t eat too much, there’s more to come,” Mo Liuxi reminded her.
“I can’t finish so much food, this is already more than enough,” Yan Su said quickly.
“It’s not enough,” Mo Liuxi said. “I must let you taste all the best delicacies in Hong Kong.”
Yan Su was touched and she found it funny. “Do you think I’m like you, such a glutton?”
“Yeah. You don’t go out to look for food, but you will finish everything that is delivered to you,” Mo Liuxi teased her.
Yan Su cleared her throat. “I’m going to eat now, bye.”
“Okay, it wouldn’t be as nice if it went cold.” Mo Liuxi didn’t insist on continuing the call.
Yan Su tasted everything. She had never tried these foods before. The taste was authentic, especially the milk tea. It was nicer than anything she had tried before.
Before long, another staff member delivered braised pork, beef brisket, soufflé, and fried durian.
They were all expensive dishes that tasted delicious.
She couldn’t finish all of it and she called Jiaojiao over.
Jiaojiao was shocked when she walked in. There were about twenty dished or so. “These are all from Mr. Mo?”
Yan Su nodded her head.
“Oh god, Mr. Mo is so sweet,” Jiaojiao said agitatedly as she slurped on the beef brisket noodles. “Look, this is from the shop that Xie Tingfeng frequents. This is the one Eason Chen goes to. He delivered all of these to you! I really want a Mr. Mo for myself. Even though they don’t cost much, it shows his affection.”
Yan Su smiled. She was pleased as she ate the soufflé.
It was the first time a man had treated her so well.
