Lu Xinyi rolled on her right side with a groan. Her face scrunched up when the sunlight from their window hit it. Lifting an arm to cover her face from the light, she slowly opened her eyes and sat up as she clutched the blanket to cover her bare chest.
Golden light washed into their bedroom, indicating that the sun was up; and it’s time for them to start their day. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the light. Beside her, Shen Yi was sleeping soundly. He was lying on his stomach with his right arm draped over her waist, keeping her stuck beside him.
“I’m going to be late!” she suddenly exclaimed, disturbing Shen Yi’s peaceful slumber.
He groaned, lifted himself, and threw a glare towards her.
“It’s still Sunday, Xinxin. Your classes won’t resume until tomorrow morning. It’s still early,” he reminded her.
“But I need to go back to Lunar Residence to get permission for my bodyguards, remember?” she retorted.
Shen Yi sat up and brushed his messy hair away from his face. His eyes met hers as a toned chest rose half-off their bed. His eyes looked at hers with what Lu Xinyi could only guess was a mixture of boredom and disappointment.
Slowly, he moved his muscled body from beneath the sheets to lean closer to her. His mouth moved to her rich locks, his lips moving to plant chaste kisses on her crown down to her neck.
“Still, it’s too early. Why don’t we do something else? You can go back to Lunar Residence this afternoon. There’s no need to rush.” Shen Yi hid his grin against her thick hair while Lu Xinyi tried her best not to roll her eyes at her husband’s antics.
Couldn’t he be more obvious?
“Come on, Yi. It’s already morning. I want some breakfast. What do you want to eat?”
“You.”
Her face reddened. She knew exactly what he meant. Before she could react on his suggestion, Shen Yi had pinned her back to their bed. His hands moved from her hair to slide down under the sheet that concealed her from him, her mouth gasping as his wandering hands teased her flesh.

Lu Xinyi nibbled on her bread as she glared on Shen Yi who was sitting across her. Well, at least now, she could finally have her breakfast in peace but not before he brought her to a leg-shaking climax thrice that morning. But damn, she felt sore between her legs; she doubted that she’d be able to move comfortably around.
Shen Yi, dressed in his home clothes, was busy checking and replying to his emails. He raised a brow on her when he noticed her glares.
How unfair was it that she felt sore, and yet her husband looked just fine and still had the energy to do his work? Lu Xinyi thought.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
Lu Xinyi looked away and watched their dogs running outside their garden.
“Nothing. We’ll go back to Silver Leaf after this,” she replied.
“Are you going home for dinner? I told you, you can just move back here. The twins will be back soon.”
Lu Xinyi finished her meal and wiped her mouth clean. She stood up and checked her phone for Lu Xiulan’s messages. Her cousin had informed her that she was now working as Shen Xue’s temporary assistant. At least now, she wouldn’t have to worry about her cousin.
“I’ll see the arrangements first. It’s better to get permission from the academy. And aren’t you the one who insisted I should have my own bodyguards?”
Shen Yi wanted to refute that he meant giving her elite guards handled by the Shen family not hiring mercenary killers to become her bodyguards.
“Fu Shuren and Zhang Qing are back. I’ll also take them with me back at the academy.” She paused. “It’s your fault my visitation papers are suspended anyway.” She shrugged.
When Lu Xinyi stepped out, ready to get in on her car; she found her bodyguards waiting for her. Zhang Qing and Jiao Jiao had changed their usual dark fitted clothes into more casual clothing. Lu Xinyi had insisted that the two women didn’t need to wear the same black suits that the Fu siblings had. Instead, she had given her some clothes from Flair Apparel that didn’t suit her.
Lu Xinyi got inside the back seat with Zhang Qing and Jiao Jiao sitting on each side while Fu Shuren took his seat at the driver’s seat, with his brother sitting next to him. Inside, Lu Xinyi explained to them some basic rules the academy had for student’s bodyguards like them.
“You don’t have to follow me in my classes. Bringing bodyguards inside the classrooms is forbidden. You can roam around the school premises, but you aren’t allowed to step inside any rooms or touch anything. Although the school’s security isn’t as tight as the Shen Mansion’s, CCTV cameras are installed everywhere.”
Her bodyguards didn’t seem to mind the rules. If they were honest though, working under Lu Xinyi was easier than doing their mercenary tasks before. At least now, they were assured that Zhang Sheng—the youngest member of their group—now had a chance to get proper education neither of the four got.
Aside from that, their miss was extremely a good chef. It was Jiao Jiao and Zhang Qing who always got the privilege to take the taste tests of Lu Xinyi’s new dishes.
“By the way Miss Lu, my brother has passed me some important messages last night. Your guess is correct. Sun Qiyan is planning to make a move against you soon.”
Lu Xinyi crossed her legs and cupped her chin.
“Oh? Please do tell what my lovely cousin plan to do with me?”
Zhang Sheng was now working under Qiao He’s tutelage, and for his first mission, Lu Xinyi had asked him to wiretap Sun Qiyan’s phone line to get evidence that she was the perpetrator of Sun Qiushan’s disappearance and death.
“Sun Qiyan has found some men and hired them to abduct you…” Zhang Qing hesitated a bit. It wasn’t like their group could not protect their Young Madam from being abducted under their watch. She just found Sun Qiyan’s way too cruel. Being an heiress from a wealthy family didn’t mean Lu Xinyi could lead a peaceful, happy life.
“Continue,” Lu Xinyi commanded.
“Miss Sun wants them to ruin your face and get you raped. She said that with your ruined face and tainted innocence, any man would find you disgusting… that even President Shen would kick you away from him.” Zhang Qing’s words made everyone in the car fell silent.
Jiao Jiao was gritting her teeth once she heard what Sun Qiyan had in store for her mistress. How could she do that to her own cousin?! Sun Qiyan was really a despicable woman! Not only she sold her little sister to Xi Yunchuan, but she also wanted to ruin Lu Xinyi’s face and taint her reputation now?
Lu Xinyi’s laugh broke the awkward and heavy atmosphere inside the car.
“Oh my… I didn’t know Qiyan hated me that much,” she said with a tone filled with amusement. It was disgusting to think that she was related to this animal at all. Sun Qiyan’s humiliation during the anniversary celebration of the Sun Corporation might have angered her so much that she planned to get revenge on Lu Xinyi.
“Madam Shen, your order please,” Fu Rui asked from the front passenger seat. Like his other companions, he was itching to teach Sun Qiyan a lesson she’d never forget.
How dare she plot against their mistress? With the Bloody Wolves now working for Lu Xinyi, how could Sun Qiyan hurt her?
“Go find out who are those people she hired and when they will strike. Don’t make a move yet. Let me see what Sun Qiyan is up to,” Lu Xinyi replied, but in her mind, she had already devised a plan to make Sun Qiyan fall in her own trap.
