Involuntarily Shen Yi watched Lu Xinyi’s small form disappear in the corner of the street as he waited on his car. He knew it wasn’t right for him to come with her and confront her ex-boyfriend even if they’re married now. He will let her deal with it but that doesn’t mean that he will not interfere if the problem started to get out of hand.
He ignored the constant ringing of his phone as he began reading the reports he had been trying to read before a very distracting slid onto the couch beside him earlier making it hard for him to focus on his work.
They both acknowledge the mutual understanding they had to each other. Being with Lu Xinyi the past week had been genuinely enjoyable and relaxing for him. It had been simple. She didn’t gawk at him or begged for his attention, unlike the other women he’d met before. Instead, it was him who was trying to seek hers!
Teasing her, flirting with her was something he wouldn’t get tired of. She wasn’t boring to be with and he found himself enjoying his time while he listens to her constant babbling about everything.
Lu Xinyi was very interesting but he was careful not to bring up the topics that could ruin her mood. She wasn’t that bad when she isn’t sulking. Much to his surprise, he didn’t want to see her cry again.
When was the last time he found himself attracted to a woman? She was able to reawaken his desires and being celibate for years didn’t help him at all. Damn him to hell, Shen Yi was sure that Lu Xinyi will test his self-control. He wondered if his serene and well-ordered life was in jeopardy.
Lu Xinyi was obviously the impulsive type of a woman but she could be managed. He can adjust for her if needed.
With her, he didn’t have to deal with a gold digger but sure her big appetite was the last thing he had expected from her. Her small stature and thin built deceived him. He wondered where did burn all those calories she’d eaten.
She’d also respected his privacy. She had left him alone when he was busy with work. Lu Xinyi had been careful on him, hadn’t pestered him with questions and never demand anything except for him to shut up whenever he teases her.
Now, he was coming back to his normal life with a wife on his side. He’d be back to work at their family company while trying not to argue with his father and kill his brother for setting him up with a random woman for his cruise vacation.
He quickly checks his appointments for the following days, making sure that he wouldn’t have to work overtime unlike before. Now, that he had a wife to accompany him, they need to adjust to each other’s needs.
A marriage of Convenience?
Who said it was just a marriage of convenience for him? If all works out for the two of them, Shen Yi wouldn’t mind falling for Lu Xinyi.

A sigh escaped from her lips. This was it. There was no turning back now. She’d played different scenarios in her mind on how she should talk with Gong Yijun. At first, she wanted to scream at him, punch him right on his face or kneeled her groin just to make sure he wouldn’t be able to use it again. She’d also wondered if she could be lucky if Gong Yijun can manage himself to be hit by a speeding truck or any vehicle.
But all of these thoughts vanished when she stepped on their shared apartment.
The bastard and the bitch can rot in hell but now she had no other choice but to see him to collect her things and leave him permanently. She was a married woman now and she should be living with Shen Yi from now own.
True he owned this place but it was her who decorated and made this place homey and comfortable. Looking at the framed photos on the living room, Lu Xinyi wondered why did he waste their seven years of relationship. If he wasn’t happy with her anymore, he should’ve talked to her and break up with her.
Was it really easy for him to let go of what they had? Was Meng Jiao really worth his time?
