Did Wen Shufen really think that she got the upper hand against her? She must be dreaming! Lu Xinyi thought. In this country, who would dare to antagonize Shen Yi and hurt his beloved wife? Ah, that one must be really tired of living!
Three days ago, when Wen Shufen sent Han Yixin’s indecent photos to different paparazzi using Lu Xinyi’s name, someone alerted Griffin Entertainment at once particularly Tang Lingfei. Wen Shufen was planning to reveal this scandal after today’s cooking battle.
So for her, this was the reason why it didn’t matter who won between Han Yixin and Lu Xinyi. At the end of the day, she’d destroy both women at the same time.
How could the old woman bear to watch her only granddaughter be bullied by a slut? Tang Shui called Shen Yi, informing him about Wen Shufen’s actions, who also told about it to his wife.
The PR department of Griffin Entertainment moved at once and legally threatened the publishers who received Wen Shufen’s request to publish Han Yixin’s photos, dragging Lu Xinyi’s name in it.
Tarnishing the name of their first miss? Ha! They must be really blind if they dared to offend their miss! The Tang family wouldn’t mind playing dirty if one of their family members was involved in a scandal.
The cooking battle officially ended with Lu Xinyi receiving the 10th place badge from Han Yixin.
“Congrats, Miss Lu. You deserve this badge and your position as the 10th best chef of Silver Leaf.” The meek and shy Han Yixin blushed and shook Lu Xinyi’s hand. It was just sad that a girl like her easily fell for Wen Shufen’s lies.
After the closing ceremony, most spectators left the audience area, busy discussing to themselves about today’s cooking battle and the next one which will be Tian Lingyu’s turn. Lu Xinyi was greeted by her classmates. They were happy that finally one of them took a seat on Cream of the Crop.
“Lu Xinyi, don’t slack off! You can’t be beaten by anyone else except me! You hear me?!” Ye Xieren insisted.
Surya Rathore appeared behind him and hooked an arm around Ye Xieren’s shoulder.
“Brother Ye, don’t be so harsh to Sister Lu! She just won her first cooking battle. Can you let her celebrate first before worrying about her next battle?”
Ye Xieren harrumphed and turned his face away. Now that Lu Xinyi was the tenth best chef within the academy, he suddenly felt the distance between them widened.
“What’s wrong with it? I’m just reminding her. And it’s not like she’s going to another cooking battle soon. A member of the Cream of the Crop can only be challenged and compete for their position once a month.”
Hearing what Ye Xieren said, Lu Xinyi heaved a sigh in relief, glad that she wouldn’t face another cooking battle soon.
“That’s good. Then Ye Xieren, Yan Chen…”—Lu Xinyi grinned—”don’t disappoint me, you should take your place in the Cream of the Crop soon. Our seniors should know that we aren’t just newbies that they can easily trample. I’ll be waiting for the two of you.”
Both Ye Xieren and Yan Chen were thrilled by Lu Xinyi’s words. Their passion to prove themselves ignited with just a few words from her. In the next half of their term, they swore they would do better.
After exchanging more conversations with Lu Xinyi, her classmates bid goodbye, leaving her alone in the hallway as she waited for her husband to pick her up. Tian Lingyu and Huang Shenghao appeared to congratulate her.
“Shorty, congrats! You did well. I’m sure Mom and Dad will be proud of you,” Tian Lingyu said.
Lu Xinyi snorted which was unladylike. Tian Lingyu frowned in return, not liking one bit that his little was still the same naughty kid that he had to look after. However, he loved this little sister of his too much so he didn’t have the heart to chastise her that badly.
“Did you doubt me, Yu Gege? I told you, I wouldn’t get easily kick out from the academy. If there’s someone who should be worried about her status in this school, it should be Wen Shufen.” Lu Xinyi smiled devilishly. She couldn’t wait to see what Han Yixin would do now that Wen Shufen’s true colors were revealed to her.
“After the thing she has done to Han Yixin, I don’t think the Student Council can ignore the complaints filed against her anymore.” Huang Shenghao sighed. “It’s truly a pity that she didn’t know when to stop. She just ruined her life because of revenge.”
Tian Lingyu narrowed his eyes at his sister. He refused to believe that the issue about Wen Shufen was superficial. Shen Yi wouldn’t make a move if the case wasn’t serious.
“What did Wen Shufen do for you to get revenge on her?” he bluntly asked.
“What are you talking about, Yu Gege? That isn’t revenge. Whatever I did was just ‘returning a favor’ to Miss Wen.” Lu Xinyi chuckled.
However, the smile that crossed on her lips was so cold that both her brother and Huang Shenghao felt a sudden shiver ran through their bodies.
A woman’s desire for revenge could outlast her other emotions. That was the reason why Wen Shufen made use of all means she could use to get closer to Han Yixin and befriend her. She knew too well that the biggest revenge she could get from the woman who ruined her family was to destroy her from the inside. Too bad though that Lu Xinyi came her way.
Lu Xinyi’s confidence and talent irked her so she also tried to target her. However, to play with the demoness like Lu Xinyi, she didn’t realize the consequences of her actions. Lu Xinyi was a vengeful person. Hit her once, she would hit back a hundredfold.
They said payback was a bitch and revenge was sweet. Then for Wen Shufen, Lu Xinyi must be the sweetest bitch she encountered in her whole life.
“By the way, where’s my darling?” Lu Xinyi asked when she noticed her husband wasn’t with her brother. She clearly remembered seeing Shen Yi sitting beside her brother during her cooking battle.
Huang Shenghao was the one to answer her question. Still with a pack of mochi safely tucked in his arm, he took a bite from his mochi and regarded Lu Xinyi.
“Mr. Shen said he needs to make a phone call so you wouldn’t have to worry about Wen Shufen later. What was that supposed to mean, Sister Lu? He isn’t trying to kidnap or murder her, isn’t he?”
“Hahaha! Brother Huang must be joking. My hubby wouldn’t let his hand tainted by Miss Wen’s blood. He’ll probably teach her a lesson not to offend everyone she meets.” Lu Xinyi giggled and covered her mouth with one hand.
“Well, that’s a relief. Miss Meng’s death was enough to make the academy gloomy these days. Another death of a student may implicate and drag the academy’s name with another issue.”
Hearing Meng Jiao’s death from another person was still able to make Lu Xinyi feel sad for her ex-best friend’s passing.
