As for Shen Yi, he didn’t care what others think of him playing an online game. His only intention was to lure out Chang Yifeng and make him pay for the disrespect he did to Lu Xinyi. Now, it was time for him to get down from his high horse. Chang Yifeng shouldn’t have hurt Lu Xinyi, and now, he had to pay the price.
“The Lord of Hell?” Lu Xinyi chuckled in amusement as she read her husband’s username, “Really?”
Shen Yi shrugged as he continued to decline the request he was receiving. “Don’t ask me. It wasn’t me who set up this account.”
Lu Xinyi laughed and grinned at her brother-in-law.
“Hey, you can’t deny that it is very fitting for him.” Shen Xue gave her a thumbs-up.
She shook her head and took her husband’s hand into hers.
“You’ve been here for hours. You should have told me to wake up earlier so I can prepare your breakfast.”
Shen Yi eyed her for a moment before deciding that he had enough playing for today. Soon, Chang Yifeng would seek him out after this. He turned off his computer, stood, and let his wife lead him outside.
Tian Lingyu stayed on his seat, watching the couple interact with each other. Their actions seemed natural to anyone who saw them. It was as they’d known each other for years and not a newly-wedded couple that they were.
Seeing the conflicted emotions on his best friend’s face, Huang Shenghao let a smile cross his lips. Tian Lingyu might not be aware of it, but he was getting pulled in with Shen Yi’s charisma. Soon, he would accept him as his sister’s husband.
—
When the couple came back from their lunch break, they found the group they left still in the same place they left them. Huang Shenghao was standing near the window on his phone busy talking to someone over the phone while Tian Lingyu’s attention was on his own computer.
Shen Xue’s loud voice could be heard from the hallway as he complained about someone making a KS on his team.
“Calm down, Xue. I don’t know why you are so bothered by it. Give them a chance to farm and gather enough EXP to level up.” Kang Wei patted his shoulder and noticed the arrival of the couple. “Hey, Xiao Xinxin. You are quite lucky today!”
“Am I? How so?” Lu Xinyi arched a brow. Shen Yi led her back to his previous seat.
“The training camp was rescheduled for next week. The hotel that you were supposed to work on had recently purchased by Sun Feiyan. Silver Leaf refused to make a partnership anymore as to avoid having conflicts between the sponsored students.” Tian Lingyu answered without breaking his gaze on the monitor of his PC.
“Feiyan?” She cupped her chin as she thought why would Sun Feiyan took interest on taking over a hotel. The Sun family was into perfumery and fashion industry. What did she know about running a hotel anyway?
“I underestimated your cousin.” Shen Yi whispered to her, “It seems like she was different from your other kins.”
Lu Xinyi couldn’t disagree with him. Surely, that cousin of hers was different from Qiyan and Qiushan. She was cunning and ruthless, always on point. Her ways might not be favorable to other people, but her charisma was enough to settle the problem.
A perfect miss for the Sun family. No wonder Chairman Sun held high expectations and favored her above his other grandchildren. She was the perfect heiress for his company… so why did he still want her to come back? Lu Xinyi thought.
“Did they say what would be the theme for the training camp?” she asked her brother.
“Wilderness cooking. I’m sure you are already familiar with this and shouldn’t have troubles passing each activity. Silver Leaf will provide some kitchen utensils and spices you may use, but I doubt that they will bring camp stoves for this one.”
“Eh? Big Sis would have a camping trip?” Shen Xue lifted his head with wide eyes staring at Lu Xinyi’s way. “So what would you cook? I doubt that simple grilling of the fish could make you pass.”
“I’m curious as to how the academy will make sure their safety. Hiking and camping trips aren’t that simple given that the topographical position of the Jiang City would have a change in weather anytime,” the lawyer said worriedly.
There had been instances that tourists got lost at the camping site near Jiang City, and the local authorities had to send a team of rescuers. With thirty students going for a camping trip at this season, he wouldn’t be surprised if the weather would give them some problems along the way.
Huang Shenghao ended the call and regarded Kang Wei.
“No worries. The academy informed me that Young Master Li’s team was surveying the area for training new recruits. If something happened, it would be easy to keep track of our students.” He assured them.
Hearing Li Yuren’s name, Shen Yi’s lips thinned. He didn’t say anything, but Shen Xue and Kang Wei could tell he was displeased with this development.
Shen Yi had been trying to limit the interaction between his wife and the Li siblings. With Li Yuren surveying the area, meeting Lu Xinyi would be possible. Shen Xue chuckled and shook his head. He couldn’t understand why his brother would find Lu Xinyi’s ex-fiance a threat. She didn’t even know the guy.
“So when will the training camp start?” Lu Xinyi’s voice brought them back to the topic.
“Next week. The academy and the army are still planning where the special class would stay. They should be able to prepare a map that you can use.” The top student of Silver Leaf Academy groaned as he slumped back in his seat. “Lingyu, I thought you said we’re going to have a short break, but they still trouble us even if we’re away.”
“No one told you to take all the responsibilities. You should have passed them to other student council committees.” His best friend retorted, “At least, we can spend this week playing and crushing Chang Yifeng’s team as the new season starts.”
“He’s also at the top of my kill list.” Shen Xue snorted. “I will teach him a lesson not to mess with the Shen family.”
“You know I’ve never seen you so competitive before,” Kang Wei told his Second Master. “This was really a surprise. I haven’t thought that you will agree to teach Bro Yi to play online games with you.”
“Look, Kang Wei,” Shen Xue crossed his other leg at the other and twisted his chair to face the lawyer, “I didn’t agree to any of this. My brother just decided it himself.”
“And you didn’t disagree…” Kang Wei pointed out with a laugh which earned a snort from Shen Xue.
“You’ve known my brother for years. Do you think he will take no for an answer?”
Kang Wei shrugged his shoulders and then landed his gaze at the couple across him. Shen Yi was teaching his wife to play Hunt and let her settle between his legs. He was whispering words on her right ear as his dominant hand guided her hand as she played. Their position was very intimate in his opinion.
Kang Wei internally cried as he realized that his wife, Zhao Xi, had never been this sweet to him before. He was a married man, but how come this two was able to make him green with jealousy with their actions? He felt no better than a single dog being fed with dog food without a warning.
Following his sight, Shen Xue huffed and nudged Kang Wei’s side.
“Want me to call your wife? How come she still not pregnant after two years of marriage?”
His question made the lawyer more depressed on his seat. Kang Wei launched Hunt from his laptop and sulked in the corner.
“Xi said she isn’t ready to have a baby yet. I can’t force her, no? Anyway, for this season. Are we going to join the interserver competition?”
“Why of course! How could we crush that Chang Yifeng if we wouldn’t join?” Shen Xue exclaimed.
“Is President Shen going to join your clan?’ Huang Shenghao chimed in, “President Shen, if you don’t mind playing with me and Lingyu, you can join us!”
“That’s not fair! My brother should be on our team!”
“You do know that we don’t have to be in the same clan to make a team for this league.” Tian Lingyu sighed, releasing one powerful attack to defeat his enemy.
“Oh, right. I totally forget about that.” Kang Wei scratched his head. “The sign-up option would be up tomorrow noon. We should get ready by then.”
