Chapter 3212 Discarded?
"…"
Davis gazed at the Variant Dark Dragon disappear. Its four serpent pupils were terrifying to look at, not to mention its immense aura emanating from its huge stature, which was hard to even get a full look at. With its departure that, he thought of to be nothing but a temporary measure to get him to fly deeper into this sector, he shrugged and appeared in the previous island he stepped foot on.
His gaze flickered as he saw there was only a crater at the center despite the sheer size and the power of the dark dragon's hand smashing into it.
The land mass didn't seem to be affected that much, making him wonder what kind of soil this was to withstand such a powerful attack, making him crouch down to pinch the dirt from the ground and get a feel.
'Woah… the sand and soil here could rival High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade materials…'
It was just like he found ores stacked on top or inside mountains, and as a result, the sediments from these ores also tended to be extremely durable and strong. This gave him the urge to steal the entire island, but if the dark dragon couldn't even budge it with its physical might restricted, he knew he couldn't.
He looked at the land with a bit of longing before arriving at the center, where he saw the meat paste of the man. He could sense that the soul essence was about to leave, so he took it for himself and bent down, finding a spatial ring amidst the crushed and splattered organs mixed with the shredded robe.
Needless to say, the sight of it was gruesome, and the smell was nauseating, but despite that, his expression didn't falter as he reached out his hand and retrieved the spatial ring.
"…"
Davis honestly didn't expect to find a spatial ring from the remains of this transcendent, but since he found it, he kept it for himself, injecting his soul sense into it and finding a plethora of resources that made him nod his head. There were thousands of ingredients and materials for alchemy, forging, and formations that would've made him jump in joy at the beginning of this adventure into the secret realm, but now, it was something that only made him nod in appreciation.
'Only a few resources at the Mid Immortal Emperor Grade, and they're quite ordinary…'
Davis garnered. He didn't recognize a few, but he didn't sense anything special from them either, not that he could make an educated guess with his knowledge that had yet to catch up to the experts like Dalila, Tina, and Myria.
Nonetheless, he appreciated what this unknown transcendent had gathered for him and was about to bury him here. However, he could still hear the vague yet incessant cries of a woman that irked him to no end.
"Sigh…"
He shook his head and turned to look towards the bridge that was hidden in the mist.
On the bridge, a group of white-robed people stood.
There was a woman also clad in white, but she was on the floor, roaring her heart as she cried. Her face was covered in snot and tears; her bottom lips stretched out. Surrounding her were two men and one woman. The woman patted her back as she seemed to comfort her, and only with her constant rubbing did the crying woman finally stop crying her heart out, weeping ever so lightly.
They couldn't believe it.
They couldn't believe they had lost their Kingly Monarch just like that, considering that this place was almost at the edge of the inner circle, which should make it safer by all means as the dark dragon should be far away by their calculations as it went away to target another person.
*Thud~*
At this moment, a sound startled them as they collectively looked towards a bloody bag that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"!!!"
However, the two men instantly noticed that there was a man on the ledge, glancing at them with a titled head as though he was scrutinizing them.
Indeed, Davis was scrutinizing them.
Based on their robe and undulations, he didn't deem them to be from a Lower Realm or an Upper Realm. These youngsters were horribly unsuited for this stage in adventure, and he couldn't recognize their robe from any memories, allowing him to know that they were from a Minor Realm, perhaps a destitute one.
"… Death…"
Someone uttered the last word of his title, causing the three of them to shudder as they moved back. However, the woman who wept suddenly froze, her eyes glued to the bloody bag. Looking at it eventually made her tremble before she looked away, no longer wanting to think that it was their Kingly Monarch, her lover.
"Where are you all from?"
"Moonlight Spring Mi-Minor Realm!"
Davis asked with a cold voice, causing one of them to instantly answer with a stutter.
With their answer, Davis inwardly sighed and turned around.
"You people should've never stepped out of the bridge. Keep his remains. I'll take the spatial ring as payment."
"Wait!"
Davis was just about to take a step forward and disappear into the mist, but then, a pleading voice full of urgency echoed, causing him to turn his head around to glance.
"That spatial ring…"
The woman's gaze shook. She appeared afraid but willed her courage to speak, her voice stuttering, "I- I won't ask you to return it… but in that ring, there is a medicinal ingredient that is supposed to save his dying little sister from a deathly ailment… "
"If… If you can give us that treasure- we and even him would be grateful to you in death."
She was on all four knees from the beginning to the end, but now, her head hit the ground, pleading for him to kindly grant that treasure. On the other hand, her teammates were all horrified.
The Anarchic Divergent was already magnanimous enough to return the remains of their senior brother, but she was now asking him to return the loot he found in the dangerous zone where the most powerful of the twelve prisoners flew around?
Davis glared at the woman who still knelt. He raised his hand, causing the transcendents to turn aghast as they saw that he was going to attack her. However, instead of his energy bursting, they saw him grasp a spatial ring, which he subsequently threw on the ground.
"I can't be bothered to search for it."
Davis made an annoyed expression and turned around, jumping into the chasm once again.
"…"
His actions left the group of young transcendents stunned, not because he jumped into the chasm but because he left the spatial ring here, the ring that was full of treasures that they had gained together from the moment they entered this realm.
It was their everything, so they despaired when they lost it along with their senior brother. When they knew the Emperor of Death took it, the despair only deepened because there was no way they could defeat an existence who played with the Empyreal Monarch, but now, there was a faint hope lit in their heart that it would be alright.
"Thank you…"
The weeping woman cried again, but this time silently, as she held the spatial ring within her palms' embrace. The others also couldn't believe an evil Anarchic Divergent would do a good deed like returning the remains and even the property, making them doubt their sect's teachings, which was common throughout the true immortal world, that Divergents were evil and needed to be eradicated in order to appease the heaven and earth.
In the distance, Davis flew across the misty region and came across the island that had a crater punched into it. He didn't stop but moved ahead, heading towards the center of the sector where the most important and valuable treasures should be held, according to his calculations.
'No, those treasures shouldn't be in the center of the sector, but more towards the edge between the outer circle and inner circle as the area around there is the smallest compared to the other areas of the sector.'
Davis imagined a clock and each number to be the bridge connecting to the central region. If so, each sector would be the space between the numbers, and the area with the least room to maneuver should have the most important treasure, according to his calculations.
That means he was heading in the right direction.
Soon enough, he came across another island, stealing its treasure. However, he didn't stop there and continued to move forward. The more headed toward the center between the two edges, the greater the grade of the treasures grew.
He even got three High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Treasures and one Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Treasure, knowing that it would only get more valuable as he headed further.
Nonetheless, Davis couldn't help but think of his little sister, wondering if Evelynn had undone or sealed her physique's influence. Perhaps hearing about the ailing little sister of a dead big brother made him a bit forlorn and irritated as he could see himself in him, dying with only a single wrong move, leaving Clara and his beauties to fend for themselves.
A vague sense of uneasiness swelled in his soul, but he felt that it was present from the moment he entered the chasm as though he was dancing on the edge of life and death.
He shook that tragic image off his head and continued to hunt for treasures.
"Oh, you finally appeared?"
While flying through the air, Davis suddenly caught sight of a huge island, and on top of it was the Variant Dark Dragon chained to it. The chains clacked and grated one's ears along with its movements, signifying an eerie end.
Davis's brows twitched as he smiled, knowing that the plan this prisoner decided to adopt was to wait for him to appear here as he saw it use its tail to hide the identity of the treasure, making him highly curious as to what it was.
"Do you wanna see what it is? Why don't you come look for yourself? I promise I won't attack you."
The Variant Dark Dragon chuckled, its two pairs of eyes narrowing as it grinned at him.
However, it became stunned as it saw Davis show his middle finger and fly away.
"If you're going to stay here, I'd rather pay you a visit after taking all the treasures."
"Bastard! Come here!"
The Variant Dark Dragon roared, jumping off the island as it unfurled its dark black wings and shot towards him.
