Chapter 3642 Trapt
Isabella's brows squinted.
She took a step back but found herself cornered as there was another foe behind her who appeared out of nowhere suddenly.
It was that Level Four Immortal King Stage man she eyed to be a danger back then.
His expression was lethargic, as though he was sick, but his gaze was that of a predator.
"So you're also an avatar."
Isabella's lips curled as she shot a glance back.
"Hehe." That man chuckled sinisterly as claws appeared on his fingers, "Pleased to make your acquaintance, Earth Dragon Empress. My Soul-Devouring Blood Vulture blood wants to have your blood so badly, so don't blame me for wanting to lose myself in you."
"A fey…"
Isabella muttered under her breath.
It seemed that only these two had worked together and planted their avatars here before making a move to evict her, so it was possible that they planned this even before the three outsiders intruded into their area.
"Was this the second plan?" She asked amusingly, not showing any weakness.
"Yes. We really didn't expect you to leave by yourself as we intended to attack there and chase you here if you wanted to retreat, but I guess, despite the blood you have, you are a complete coward."
Girias laughed before his gaze went cold, "My glorious serpent bloodline has always been looked down upon by you dragons. It is time you pay the price for the sins you have committed, as well as the sins your dragon race has committed upon all other races. Retribution is here…"
*Rumble!~*
Dark gray lightning fueled by immortal energy surged out like thunder, quickly forming into a swirl and coalescing into a concentrated sphere of immense power and destruction. The surroundings became dimly lit, with shadows cast on the forest as the undulations spread far and wide, crackling as it caused a prickly sensation to anyone who remained in the area.
Isabella's brows twitched.
At a glance, she found that this avatar was Level Seven Immortal King Stage in cultivation, one level lower than the person himself who probably remained in the crystal mountain. It seemed to be a fleshly avatar rather than a fully soul-based one, so it would be wrought with many restrictions.
Still, Isabella knew she was not in a state to be capable of defeating him, and with that surge, it became clear his avatar's prowess was five levels higher. This meant that he was as strong as a Level One Immortal Emperor!
*Zizizi!!~*
Girias raised his hand towards the heavens, dark gray lightning crackling around his outstretched palm before he performed a maneuver and launched the swirling vortex of dark lightning toward Isabella.
It contained the essence of a Dark Lightning Moon Serpent, its attacks resembling snake-like bodies or tendrils reaching out like grasping claws. Its sinister aura of darkness and lightning mixed to form a powerful essence that shouldn't be normally possible
*Ripp~*
It ripped through the threes in its path and destroyed them with impunity, utterly devastating.
"…!"
Isabella couldn't move back. She tried to use the Escape Talisman, but it didn't work as he had said. She took out the defensive talisman and tried to activate it but decided against it as she jumped to the side.
"Indomitable Carapace of the Earth Dragon!"
She roared, using one of the most powerful defensive techniques in the Domineering Earth Dragon Art Body Tempering Cultivation Manual.
The swirl of dark lightning was too fast, catching her in its vicinity. Her leg got caught, causing the entirety of the cloth and the skin there to disintegrate, revealing a bloody skin, but at the same time, a brownish-crimson glow overwhelmed her body, protecting her from the onslaught of the dark lightning sphere.
Unlike Evelynn who could use the Earth Invulnerability, the species technique of the Earth Dragon because she was a fey, Isabella wasn't able to use it. However, the cultivation manual taught a technique similar to that and had a different function, one that expends the immortal martial energy in exchange to protect the user.
That was called the Indomitable Carapace of the Earth Dragon.
Unlike the Earth Invulnerability that causes an Earth Dragon to really become invulnerable for a period of time as long as the attack doesn't cross a certain threshold, this technique allowed one to withstand attacks as long as there was enough energy.
"…!"
Pain assaulted Isabella's legs, but she could also sense her immortal martial energy rapidly draining. It wasn't like her energy capacity was sealed, but since the rate of energy she could use with her cultivation was much lower, the expenditure of the Indomitable Carapace of the Earth Dragon made her take a heavy toll.
Her immortal martial energy was rapidly drained in a few seconds.
However, the difference in energy usage was too high as the dark lightning sphere attack still existed. It looked like it had turned mild as though it was going to disappear, but Isabella could see that it still had one burst left within it.
She clenched her teeth, twisted her leg, trying to break free but couldn't, so she decisively drew a sword with her immortal energy and cut her leg down over thee knee.
Blood splashed as Isabella broke free from the lightning sphere.
Her leg disappeared into the dark lightning sphere, seemingly fried into ashes with no energy remaining to protect it.
With a step onto the ground with one leg, her veins erupted, and her eyes widened.
'Earth Dragon's Overlord Rush…!'
With the last bit of immortal martial energy present, she launched herself into the distance, shooting through numerous trees and breaking them in her path without even stopping for a moment.
Hundred meters, five hundred meters.
A kilometer and three.
Her speed was insane that it didn't even take a second for her to reach five kilometers in an instant before she rushed ten kilometers away the next second before finally slowing down.
It was an extreme feat considering Isabella's sealed cultivation and prowess, not to mention the dense space that disallowed them from traveling too fast or expending a high amount of energy. Otherwise, they would've been able to fly as well.
Girias reacted late because his vision was blocked by his lightning sphere. He didn't have his soul sense to rely on for quick follow-up attacks.
However, Harmon was dumbfounded.
He thought the prey was already dead, so he would swoop in to steal her corpse from Girias, but he didn't expect a mere Level One Immortal King Stage with barely two levels of prowess stemming from her usage of earthen energy to escape an attack that would clearly kill even a Peak-Level Immortal King!
His reaction was even more delayed than Girias' because of his disbelief, his eyes turning bloodshot before he shot toward her and chased after her.
"You fool! What were you doing daydreaming!?" Despite Girias roaring from frustration, he knew the other party was also eying for Isabella.
Her Emperor-Tier Earth Dragon Blood was something that naturally attracted every cultivator in the world for it would allow them to strengthen their body by many times. For a fey like Harmon, who can cannibalize humans, that was a prized elixir.
They quickly chased after her but were surprised to see her coming to a stop. As soon as they were a few hundred meters away from her, they stopped. Their gaze was solemn, knowing she had come out of that natural formation that disallowed people from using any talismans whatsoever.
