Chapter 3713 Deteriorating Situation of the First Haven World
The people of the First Haven World could see the overall situation had turned chaotic in the Crystal World on top of their lives. The severe casualties had them praying to the heavens for their powers to win so they could be the victors and survive this chaotic period.
However, the moment these inheritors fell, the chances of them getting attacked by others marginally increased.
Some powers like the Silver Fang Wolf, Verdant Wing Drake, Sunfire Spot Leopard, Obsidian Behemoth Beast, Ironclad Fist Sect, Storm Gaze Sect, and Nightshade Mist Fox Clan all disappeared in the span of three days.
These powers all had inheritors, but due to decline over the span of millions of years, they fell short of becoming major powers and hovered right below major powers, holding a Province for themselves.
Yet, they all got targeted and destroyed because their inheritors fell. Some were even picked on when nothing happened. There was no fairness and unfairness when it came to war and the survival of a species.
Everything was implemented, from isolating measures on their own people to genocide on others.
Davis knew this because Mingzhi always reported the ongoings to his soul body. Now, he was getting a report that more powers were starting to decline, either getting massacred or scattering away to save themselves.
"Many people are being captured as slaves if their luck is good. Otherwise, they get killed. Actually, some people… I mean… several thousand people are outside our gates, seeking protection even if it is from the devil… are we going to let them in? There are also a lot of children…"
"Sure, let them in on the empty outer region if their cultivation base is less than Immortal Emperor Stage. We'll be abandoning this city sooner or later. At least, this ghost city could finally be of some use…"
Davis knew there were about two or four weeks left until the World Master kicked them out in three or four weeks, so until that time, he wasn't aversed to letting people stay and receive protection from him.
"However, since we don't have enough manpower or time to be monitoring them, accept them only if they agree to have their cultivations sealed and further inform them that any form of battles, including goading someone into battling them, will be severely punished with crippling their cultivation or even deaths. As for sustenance, they will be provided since we have a ridiculous amount of Low-Level Immortal Crystals and food to spare…"
Mingzhi's lips curled.
Her man was no saint, but he wasn't the type to abandon when people came to him in need, and he could do something about it.
"You would think they would be afraid of deaths, but they'd be more afraid of getting their cultivations crippled…"
"Right…"
Davis nodded as he chuckled at Mingzhi. To cultivators, living a crippled life was worse than death, so cripples committed suicide most of the time, wanting to reincarnate and try better in their next life.
Mingzhi ordered Yotan to let the refugees in.
They were from nearby Fire Phoenix cities that were unable to defend against bandits and other lesser power cities to the south. Many powers had decreased their defense perimeter after all to protect better, so the fringe town, villages and cities were basically abandoned.
Davis had to admit that it was his fault that the Fire Phoenix Clan lost almost all their Immortal Emperors, so their perimeter was extremely small but he didn't regret his actions as they had that coming.
Nonetheless, Schleya, who was working nowadays with the Reaper Soul Legion, also helped them protect the city. Eldia also hovered at the skies near the city, and they didn't take any prisoners, only slaughtering whoever raised their blades at them or displayed the slightest animosity in their words, so the number of foolish people echoing their righteous chants of wanting the Anarchic Divergent to fall became less and less every day.
"…"
Looking at Mingzhi communicate with Yotan through a messaging talisman, Davis blinked.
'Not now…'
He shook his head as he had to start training better instead of just using the avatar.
However, he had to admit the progress his avatar made with Myria was significant. Her spontaneous yet unexpected techniques had him jumping around in many ways, causing his horizon to widen.
As an avatar whose prowess was only eleven levels higher, he fought Myria, whose prowess was way above that, over thirteen levels higher. Battling a higher-level cultivator put immense pressure on anyone, so his avatar's battling skills were progressing leaps and bounds, and so was his, who was connected to its memories.
However, he felt that wasn't enough.
He needed to practice with all, especially train his scythe skills as he felt like he was near a breakthrough but just couldn't grasp. Fortunately, his soul body also learned the records of scythe techniques from the Ghost Tear Hall, so he was ready to put it into practice and pressure himself into a breakthrough.
"Mingzhi, call Schleya back. As for Yotan, tell her I have something important to talk to about our future and will talk to her in two weeks."
"Huh? If it's about love, say that to her by yourself. What are you getting cold feet for?"
"It's not cold feet." Davis shook his head, "I would like to focus on my cultivation and skills now. No dual cultivation for at least two weeks. I'm afraid I can't suppress myself if I see Yotan's cheeks turning red like an apple before she falls into my embrace."
"…"
Mingzhi almost rolled her eyes. It was almost like he was convinced of it, but she also had to admit she could imagine it, which made her inwardly fume.
She kicked his calf as payment before relaying his intentions to Schleya and Yotan word by word.
"Don't be angry, my dark demoness." He patted her head, "If I had time, I would make sure not one of you has to wait for me. However, matters regarding-"
"I know…"
Mingzhi pouted as she cut him off and wrapped her arms around his arm, "I'm also relaying everyone's feelings because they won't be as daring as me to offend you. Don't you know their hearts flutter when they hear me say the things they want to say but can't because it is offensive and ungrateful?"
"I know. You have always looked after them, but I have to look after you personally under the threat of your Heart Intent complicating the emotions in your heart to no end, no? Otherwise, you'd go crazy…"
"Hmph~"
She harrumphed, acting cute as she smiled at him.
The Heart Intent was a double-edged sword. It could make people care or utterly go indifferent while still enabling them to understand people, and she had just recovered from a soul dissonance after her soul physique had mutated.
Davis pulled her closer into an embrace and kissed her forehead. His Mingzhi had grown stronger in cultivation base once again from refining all the yang essence he released inside her. He noticed the others he had made love with the past few days had improved in their cultivation as well.
He was glad, wanting to do it for all his women but then again, he was lacking time severely.
Otherwise, he would've also went after Tia and Aila. They were still waiting for him but he was of the mind if he was going to love them fully, then he had to know more about them and then fully devour them in his style, making them his wives and keeping them happy. For the same reason, he decided to stay away from Yotan for the time being as well.
As for Mira, he liked for her to grow up a bit more as she was still immature in his eyes, even if she had a mature body.
At this moment, Schleya returned.
She descended towards them. Clad in black robes that swayed in the wind along with her crimson-black hair, she appeared before him, abruptly kneeling.
"Any requests, my liege?"
"Yes, don't kneel."
"But-"
Schleya looked confused as she looked at Mingzhi, but looking at her, she suddenly made an evil grin. She sighed and stood up. Davis also understood her gaze and slapped Mingzhi's butt with a fierce yet controlled palm, causing the latter to let out a yelp as she cried out.
His Mingzhi was always bullying his Schleya, and the latter seemed to be getting used to it, which caused him to smile.
"Follow me, Schleya."
