Chapter 3004 Unraveling Determination
"So you're saying that Myria and I confessed to each other a few times, were inches away from kissing, only for me to be a stupid prick that pushed her away because she wanted to run away with my family and me to a safe place after abandoning you…?"
"Indeed~"
Fallen Heaven's voice crispy echoed in him.
But on the other hand, Davis was still on the mountain peak, staring into the distance. He was trying to imagine this scene Fallen Heaven described in his head but tried as he may, he was unable to imagine even with his creativity.
No matter how he imagined Myria to be by his side, he just couldn't imagine her becoming teary-eyed, all feminine with a cute, imploring voice, and stupid enough to suggest such a thing that they should run away, which she herself should know would lead to their quick deaths.
If it weren't for that, would there be any meaning in them cultivating so hard without stopping to enjoy the little bit of adventure they experience?
Besides, she killed her father because he tried to violate her by mistaking that she was his dead wife? What was with that?
Considering all this, he felt like it would've been a big event in his life, but the randomness of it left him pretty speechless.
If Fallen Heaven's aim was to separate them and have them kill each other, then he must say that it was doing a very bad job at it because his feelings for Myria only grew after hearing this mess, although he couldn't bring himself to believe that this truly happened as he had never caught Myria lacking.
But if she did…
Davis trembled.
He realized the heaviness of the action he took, one that may perhaps never allow her to look at him the same way, never allow herself to be vulnerable to him again.
He facepalmed himself.
'If this is true… then it would also mean Lereza didn't betray but just wanted to protect her lady's true emotions…?'
He palmed his face with his other hand, dragging his face down again.
========
A pink-robed figure was still shuddering on the ground, her face attached to the cracked surface.
*Whoosh~*
Davis appeared in front of Lereza ten minutes later after he had left her.
Looking at her still kneeling, his expression sank a few notches as he felt immensely guilty.
"Stand up."
Lereza shuddered upon hearing his voice but understanding the meaning, she shook her head. Davis's expression was sore as he saw blood cover the cracks. Had she hit the ground with her head more?
"I said stand up."
"Punish me, master."
Lereza's voice quivered, causing Davis to heave a gentle sigh.
He walked towards her, directly bending as he picked her up.
"Ah~"
The first thing Lereza did was hide her badly messed up face with her palms, and then realizing she was princess carried, her cheeks flushed red.
"I… I… no- not this punishment…"
"What?"
"I mean- Ow~"
Davis hit her head quickly before princess-carrying her again, "Stop with your delusions, you peepsqueak."
Lereza protected her head as she looked at him aggrievedly before remembering she had done something bad, her expression wilting.
"Have I been forgiven…?"
Davis couldn't bring himself to glare at her, but he kept a stern expression.
"Not yet, but I will once the truth coincides with my thoughts. Now answer my questions."
"What did Myria hide from me?"
"…"
Lereza protected her head twice as four branches appeared to protect her head. Davis almost laughed at her cutesy reaction but later, she finally opened her mouth.
"Past… affection… future…"
still kept a stern expression.
"Mention three things. You can be vague about it."
Finally, Lereza seemed to be somewhat hesitant. A few seconds later, she finally opened her mouth.
"Past… affection… future…"
"…"
Davis felt that was on him.
Past and future were already a given in any kind of clue hunt, and the affection in the middle gave him a wide way of interpreting the clues. Regardless, he wasn't confused a few seconds later as the three of these words pretty much allowed him to him connect the dots.
'Myria's past… her affection towards me… and the future she dreamed of with me...'
It coincided with what Fallen Heaven told him.
"Master, please… I will take your side on anything except when it concerns Fairy Myria… This life of mine is present to repay her goodwill…"
Lereza pleaded, causing Davis to come out of his reverie as he sighed.
It wasn't like Lereza hid the reason behind her loyalty to Myria, so in all fairness, he should've known that she would take her side. It was just, Lereza sealed Nadia's memories when he was already sealed. What if something dangerous happened and that was hidden from them?
Even if it was for his own good, he didn't want to live in a false reality.
"Just don't do it again," Davis warned her.
"Master…"
"Being forgiven depends on your actions, but as of now, I have no hard feelings towards you."
Lereza pursed her lips. Her voluptuous body did nothing to hide her cuteness as she looked sullen before displaying a light smile.
"Then I'll work towards your forgiveness."
Davis nodded and finally dropped her to the ground, but she floated away and sat on a cloud that suddenly formed. He couldn't help but smile, seeing her back to being her old self again. Even if she was faking her cheery self, he was glad that she wasn't that hurt because of his words.
Abruptly, Davis's gaze flickered as he got back to himself in the real world, looking at the purple-robed woman.
"I don't know what went on here, but junior sister- I mean, Saintess Myria was… shedding tears as she flew away in a concealed manner. I figured that you should know since you seemed somewhat intimate with her back in the meeting."
"Ah~ Many thanks, Void Dust Empress."
Davis cupped his hands and bowed, "Next time, I'll try to bring you many gifts."
"No need."
Wix Voidfield lightly smiled behind her veil before turning around as her figure disappeared into the void, leaving behind Davis, whose conjectures were becoming increasingly solid, matching Fallen Heaven's account.
========
A white-robed figure made it back to their palace.
It was a woman. Her eyes were pretty, but they appeared to be exhausted a bit, their vicinity looking somewhat red. Abruptly, another white-robed woman intercepted her.
"Elder sis, I heard that you were called away for a meeting by the Guardians over this recent situa- wait, did you cry? They made you cry!?"
Ellia roared, her expression turning vengeful.
"Stop." Myria raised her hand, "Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be with your misunderstandings. I was training in eye arts."
"Mhmm~~ Is that so?" Ellia stared at Myria with one eye.
Myria turned to look away, but her voice resounded out.
"Your cultivation base seemed to have recovered to Level Nine Immortal Stage. Have you rectified the source of your cultivation deviation?"
Ellia flinched upon hearing the question as she looked away.
"Ah, yes~ Cultivation deviation? Of course, I rectified it. With our knowledge, does any kind of deviation stand a chance against us?"
"Bye-bye, see you later." She waved her hand, seeming eager to leave.
But suddenly, Myria turned to look back at her.
"Are you going back?"
Ellia proudly smiled, "Of course. I belong to him."
"I see. At the very least, you should attain happiness."
"…?"
Ellia narrowed her brows. She couldn't see Myria's expression as she looked away again, but why did her voice sound somewhat forlorn?
"What are you saying? If you want to have fun, just hop into our mansion. It's not like anyone's going to stop you even if you go out of your way to act as the villainess~"
Ellia giggled before she flew away, leaving behind Myria, who had a light smile on her face, killing intent seeping out of her eyes.
'Unfortunately, this joy is something that I can never obtain, not unless I obtain revenge and rid myself and him of our enemies!'
==========
Davis had just gotten back to his island. However, he was using his concealment technique, so other than Yotan, none of the Reaper Soul Legion knew about his entry. He tried to make it to the north where Myria's residence was situated, but halfway, he saw Ellia.
He was about to meet her when she suddenly took off towards the east, to where his residence was.
"…"
He watched her make haste in confusion before his messaging talisman also began to ring from Evelynn. He took it out, but there was no sound, causing his gaze to flicker before he quickly rushed toward his home.
He quickly forced his way through his residence but was stunned as he saw a newcomer appearing to have a standoff with one of his women.
However, his expression was convoluted, wondering why this should happen at this moment as he saw a Nine Lives Gracious Fox stare at an Emperor-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Fox with utter astonishment on its face.
"Shimei, you shouldn't run off like that-"
A melodious voice also resounded while Stella laughed and entered the mansion, holding hands with another person. However, they were also stunned as they looked at the scene before them.
"Oh my~"
Saintess Lunaria placed the other hand on her mouth as her gaze fell on Everlight.
