Needlessly offending not only an Eighth Stage Expert but for any cultivator to matter didn't sit well with Davis and as far as he could guess, the Magical Beasts he was going to hunt were probably sold in the value of Mid-Level Spirit Stones! Probably High-Level Spirit Stones as well but for that, he would have to hunt Mid-Level Seventh Stage Magical Beasts.
Losing 10,000 Spirit Stones didn't seem much at all when compared with the wealth he was going to earn... Besides, he had millions of Low-Level Spirit Stones that he didn't even bother to keep a count on...
'Is this the mindset of the rich?' Davis wryly mused before he shook his head.
As he and Evelynn moved about, they settled in an inn for the night, choosing to head into the Sunset Tear Mountain in the morning as the sun had already set, moonlight illuminating the world.
At dinner time, they were sitting in the inn below, feasting on the Sky Grade Magical Beast Meat that gave off a tempting aroma, making them not bother about their surroundings.
Many of the others who were in the inn cast them strange looks, not to the food but to Evelynn.
Perhaps it remained difficult to see a well dressed, noblewoman in this place, they stared at her rudely and even shot gazes of lust at her from time to time.
After all, most of the women who came here were rather part of mercenary groups and women who regularly jump into the Magical Beast Mountain to survive already had their innocence and beauty taken away as they would be riddled with scars from the fierce battles with the Magical Beasts.
Sometimes in the expeditions, they were even forced to curb the needs of men but those matters were only heard of from unscrupulous mercenary groups. Women generally didn't join those mercenary groups but if they were forced to make their ends meet whether financially or resourcefully, then they would have no choice left.
Hence, the sight of Evelynn alone was enough for them to rile them up sexually and make them think of having fun times with some of the women who lived here and might sleep for the night with them for some Spirit Stones.
However, none of them made a move on Evelynn because acts of indecency were forbidden by the town guards and the guards wouldn't let this pass by unless the person causing trouble happened to be a person of status whom they couldn't place a hand on...
These people were obviously all not people of status and Evelynn looked like a noblewoman, hence, they didn't dare to make trouble at all. Besides, there was an unknown factor, which was the man beside her.
He gave off a calm vibe that told them who regularly made their living by hunting Magical Beasts in stress and tense mindset that he was definitely not one to be messed with!
But! There were always outliers!
A person approached them and relaxedly sat on the empty chair before the table they were seated at like he owned the inn.
Davis chewed the piece of meat in his mouth and shot a look over to the newcomer with his eyes.
The man had a mustache and one of his eyes was covered with an eye patch. When Davis cast a look slightly below, he noticed that both of his arms were missing as only flowing sleeves were there, empty.
His initial impression was that this person didn't definitely approach them to make trouble...
Hence, he asked, "What do you want?"
The man chuckled for a moment before slightly revealing his undulations that were at the Law Manifestation Stage, "My name is Travis and I am a veteran of the Sunset Tear Magical Beast Mountain!"
He lifted his severed hands and pointed at himself, "I sell information!"
"Can't you see that we're eating?" Davis coldly asked.
"Sorry, I saw potential customers, so I couldn't rather hold back myself..." Travis awkwardly chuckled, "It was especially so when I noticed that you people might be rich..."
Davis still looked at him coldly, not intending to talk anymore.
Perhaps Travis discerned it, he stood up and left towards the nearest empty table and nodded at them as if he would wait for them to finish eating.
Davis continued to eat when Evelynn suddenly asked, "Don't we need information? The Sunset Tear Magical Beast Mountain is undoubtedly vast..."
"He isn't going anywhere because he needs wealth. Besides, the way he approached us as if he were close to us when he is obviously a stranger... I don't appreciate or like it one bit." Davis replied and continued stuffing large portions of meat into his mouth.
Evelynn felt that her husband's words made sense, so she continued to eat with him while chattering about general stuff. They were both heavy eaters in a sense, so when the others all saw them order tons of meat after finishing each round, they turned pretty speechless.
Eating meat that was at the Sky Grade and not being easily filled undoubtedly told them that they were at the Sixth Stage. There was also another guess which they didn't normally lean towards to and didn't even consider since it was rare.
And that was their Body Tempering Cultivation to be at the Gold Stage and above since cultivators at this level would rather easily digest the content they ate, requiring more in the process as they would feel that they aren't filled and that they can eat more.
However, people generally would only think what Essence Gathering Cultivation the other party has since it is the main cultivation and the easiest to cultivate when compared to the other two cultivation methods.
Only eccentrics would bother cultivating Body Tempering Cultivation as their main as it is difficult to cultivate when compared with Essence Gathering Cultivation.
As for Soul Forging Cultivation... They would be satisfied if they at least get the Cultivation Manual... They don't even have the capacity to measure Soul Forging Cultivation since they weren't familiar with it.
Once they thought these two were at the Law Manifestation Stage, they all removed their gazes from them out of panic and no longer dared to gaze back at Evelynn, feeling restless at the thought that they might have attracted trouble.
Davis chuckled at their reactions making Evelynn chuckle as well. With her physical sense that had reached the Fifth Stage; Gold Stage, it would be a lie if she said that she didn't find these lustful gazes uncomfortable as it was glaringly clear.
Normally, she would've reacted back to their gaze and angrily glared at them or even shouted but more than that, she didn't want to create trouble for her husband, hence, she ignored them to the best of her ability.
After twenty minutes, they finally finished their dinner. Davis shot a look towards Travis and the latter promptly stood up and walked over with a pleasing smile on his face.
Before he sat, he slightly bowed and awkwardly said, "Forgive my rudeness, impatience, and the lack of clasped hands because I no longer have hands... Haha..."
Travis displayed his humor garnering a giggle from Evelynn before she hurriedly placed her palm over her mouth realizing that it was rude to laugh at other's disabilities. Besides, she had also experienced her hand being severed in the past, so she felt all the more improper when she giggled at him.
Needless to say, her laugh riled up many men so much that they stood up and left the inn, obviously for engaging in nightly affairs.
However, this gave Davis a better impression of Travis, hence, he said, "You must rather be unlucky to have both of your hands severed... What mishap did you meet with exactly?"
Travis sighed, "That's a long story..."
