Chapter 2925 Clearing Up
"Master, are you not also leaving yet?"
Davis turned and asked, causing Master Deathseeker to narrow his brows.
"You want me to leave when you are vulnerable?"
He didn't know that Davis had lost his immortal vessel but still recognized that many powers were tracking him down with fervor and fear. After all, he was basically a walking source of karmic virtue for them to receive from the heavens if killed, not to mention if they didn't kill him before he grew up, there wouldn't be another chance.
It would be even worse if they were found out to be hunting him down, so this was the only time when they would send their full, available forces to hunt the Emperor of Death.
Davis also wryly smiled, his expression turning moved. It was his so-called Master who appeared when he didn't expect it, looking out for him.
Was the other party even an assassin? Why did it feel like some grandpa he knew from childhood?
"What does the Ghost Tear Hall feel about an Anarchic Divergent?" Smilingly, he asked.
"Whatever they feel, they shouldn't go against me."
Master Deathseeker answered with confidence, "Even if you want help, just say it. My Ghost Tear Hall will lend hundreds and thousands of assassins to you. I believe you would transform the Ghost Tear Hall into an even more dreadful power or make it fall. I'm willing to pour all my life's worth into you as you have the potential."
"That… sounded so… bad…"
"Bastard." Master Deathseeker raised his hand as he raged, "You want a beating?"
"Ahaha." Davis couldn't help but laugh, "Don't worry, I'll allow you to pour your life's worth into your wives and make it worthwhile to see them with love and care sooner or later."
Master Deathseeker's gaze flickered, "You..."
"I should've realized that death-attributed cultivators have essentially struck their ability to reproduce with so much death in their body." Davis gently sighed.
He felt like he would be a fool not to understand his master if he suspected his intentions any longer.
The only reason that Master Deathseeker saw women as a burden yet still had wives was that he couldn't reproduce. He couldn't make a legacy with them and, therefore, kept advising him not to bother with them since he thought he would be the same.
However, he stopped advising that sometime later, when he probably heard that he had two children, realizing that Davis was different than him when it came to reproduction.
"Master Deathseeker, you should show my martial nephew or martial niece when you have one. Until then, you can't die."
"Hmph! How can I die when I'm death itself? It's you who should be worried since you're a half-assed brat who excels in neither life nor death!"
Hearing Master Deathseeker admonish him, Davis couldn't help but silently laugh.
With his master taking him and Yilla all the way to Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, he finally arrived at the main palace. His concealment arts were such that they made it all the way into the main palace before they were actually found-
"Halt!"
-right before the throne where the Starlight Jade Wolf King sat.
"Mo Tian!"
While the Immortal King's palace guards ran to surround them, the Starlight Jade Wolf King stood up and widened his eyes in shock.
"Brother Fenren, it took a while to patch up some things."
Davis wryly smiled as he spread his hands.
"As you can see, I have no words to offer as an apology other than explaining the truth."
He then cast a look at the people around, and the Starlight Jade Wolf King quickly noticed his hesitation.
"Close the palace doors. No information is getting out of here."
He ordered the palace guards, causing them to move swiftly and eventually clear out of the throne hall.
Once everyone left except the Starlight Jade Wolf King, only the two inheritors and a few other Elders and Grand Elders remained.
"Mo Tian, Dead End, and Feng Chu." Davis began, an intermittent sigh escaping from his mouth, "I'm all three personas, but you can call me Davis. That's my true identity. The rest are fabrication and disposable identities intended to be of use to allow me to survive in this harsh world. It's definitely not to fool you or your people or anyone who intends to be my ally, and I apologize if I have offended you."
He cupped his hands and bowed.
Behind him, Yilla also did the same thing, following his actions, while Deathseeker appeared as indifferent as ever.
In fact, he was stiff in caution as he knew that the formations here could blast him off. The Ghost Tear Hall had committed too many assassinations against the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan. But that wasn't just against the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan but almost all clans, so they offended everyone and wouldn't be welcome anywhere unless they arrived in groups.
A character like him could still boldly appear anywhere but not right at the heart of a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Construct and Formations, which, if activated, he would be a goner without a doubt.
He really felt like he had to accept the guts or naivety of his disciple on this one, awaiting the result carefully.
The Starlight Jade Wolf King still stared at Davis, appearing to take out something a few seconds later.
"I'll accept your apology if you take your spatial ring back."
"…" Davis became stunned as he saw the spatial ring he gave to the Starlight Jade Wolf King.
He gave half his assets to him and the other to the Golden Crow Clan, knowing that he would severely trouble them. He didn't want them to think that he was there to fool them, so he had given it all away.
"Why…? That should somewhat act as an apology to-"
"You're really making me offended if you think I became brothers with you for resources."
Patriarch Fenren Jadelight frowned before he smilingly shook his head, "Well, of course, I admit not anyone could become brothers with me, but you, you're many things, a Fiend, a Saint, not to mention you have tamed an Empress like Nadia, a dragon, and even a phoenix that I'm honored to be your brother."
He chuckled and threw the spatial ring at Davis, causing him to capture it and look at it.
It was just as he gave him, filled with gifts he received for his mercenary-like work and being a Saint. Not a single item was missing, causing him to look at Patriarch Fenren Jadelight in a perplexed manner.
"Are you… are you not afraid that I'm an Anarchic Divergent…?"
"I'm not." The Starlight Jade Wolf King looked like he heard something funny, "I have made my decision to trust you, but my people are not that close with you. They want to know if you could truly be depended upon."
Hearing that, Davis shook his head.
"I can't be depended upon. I don't promise that to anyone except my family."
"…"
"It's just..." Davis's smile became wry, "If you're all prepared to walk life and death with me and come out at the top, glory is the least of our concerns because, at that point, you would be busy with nurturing the next generation, not for war but for growing with values so that they don't mess up your glorious name."
"Pffft- ahahaha! Well said."
The Starlight Jade Wolf King burst into a fit of laughter before he pointed at Davis and turned to look at the others.
"Immortal inheritors and elders, what do you all think?"
"Before that…"
Abruptly, a white-robed old man descended from the ceiling, his body trembling as though it was about to give out as he opened his mouth and continued to talk.
"I think we should carefully decide whether to hand him over to the powers of the First Haven World to judge and get rid of ourselves of the mistake that we committed in the first place."
"Third Ancestor Riyard."
Patriarch Fenren Jadelight's gaze flickered. Instantly, his hand shook as he took out a core of talisman and activated it.
A burst of jade light appeared around Davis and Third Ancestor Riyard, separating them.
"Patriarch, what's the meaning of this?"
Third Ancestor Riyard trembled as he opened his small slits, his eyeballs peeking out with difficulty as he stared at the Starlight Jade Wolf King.
"I'm asking you the same thing. How dare you appear now when I sent summons when the Fire Phoenix Clan invaded? Do you want to die for insubordination?"
The Starlight Jade Wolf King's voice was cold and enraged, causing the trembling old man to shiver greatly.
