Chapter 3611 Grand Immortal Mountain Peak
Their flying boat landed on one of many platforms, seemingly controlling the numerous tendrils of wind. It sucked the flying boat towards it and made them land as the wind receded.
They alighted from the flying boat, stepping on the platform before they made their way to the path below that seemed to take them to the center of the island.
"That huge enchanting palace we saw from above… was that the Immortal Dreams Palace?"
"It likely is the Immortal Dreams Palace…"
Isabella asked, causing Shirley to nod.
Meanwhile, Evelynn still stuck with Davis as she wound her arms around his, appearing not to want to let go of him until the last moment.
"…"
Davis felt pleasant, but he also came to understand that his presence would alter their determination for better or worse. He couldn't continue to make them undergo a roller-coaster of emotions.
Nonetheless, as they made their way to the central area, they tried to fasten their pace but the space here was denser than the norm. Even as an Immortal King who could battle Late Stage Immortal Emperors, Davis found that he was suppressed here.
He couldn't fly.
All he could do was float a meter above the ground lightly, but it took more energy than necessary.
He guessed it was the same everywhere since other people also kept a low altitude.
Indeed, many other factions were descending and making their way to the central area in the designated path.
They met up with Founder Zenflame, Hirona, and Sierra on the same pathway.
"You're telling me I should battle it out with these monsters?"
Founder Zenflame instantly gestured at Evelynn and the others while looking at Hirona and Sierra, causing them to laugh and reunite.
"It's not like you haven't improved to King-Tier."
Shirley shot back as she gazed at Founder Zenflame.
Founder Zenflame chuckled before he shrugged, "It's inevitable, considering the history of our powers. There would be at least one King-Tier individual among the inheritors when it comes to down a magical beast factions. The resources they have saved from time immemorial would allow one or two of our inheritors to rise to King-Tier but it it was like ours, trying to squander every resource generation after generation for personal gain, then it would be very difficult for that produce a King-Tier blooded inheritor."
He explained, and then his brows raised, "It was said that some even had Emperor-Tier heirs like hers."
He gestured at Evelynn, causing everyone's attention to turn to her.
In the Fire Phoenix Clan's view, she possessed Emperor-Tier Blood from the start which didn't make them confused because they knew one of the inheritances from the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid indeed carried an Empress.
Evelynn pursed her lips, "I read on some records and learned that the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan was vilified by all the Candidacy powers. Is there any reason to fear them and persecute them with much hatred at that time?"
Her gaze narrowed, looking for some clues.
Although it wasn't like Hexena Xylusc entrusted her to take revenge but entrusted her to protect, she couldn't just walk into it blindly.
"I'm not sure." Founder Zenflame shook his head, "It happened at a time when I was not active. I doubt Hirona and Sierra would know of it as well. We were busy waging war with the Vermilion Bird Clan and Luan Bird Clan most of our lives, managing to kill their inheritors."
"Thanks to that— we were able to disallow them from suppressing us," Sierra spoke with some pride.
"Alright."
Evelynn took their words at face value as she nodded her head but she was still interested in knowing about other Emperor-Tier Candidates.
Even if there was one, she doubted it would be no more than one or two Candidates among the many.
"Hahaha! What are you guys talking about? Let us join in!"
At this moment, a loud voice resounded from above.
They saw Founder Rocksunder on the platform before he jumped off and landed before them. Noctis and Crystia also flew down, looking like a golden couple with their hands clasped together.
Seeing this scene, Davis had to roll his eyes.
While many Candidacy powers were staying away from each other, these two groups clearly didn't care about that.
His eyes momentarily gazed around, knowing that many were looking for information or weaknesses to exploit, so gathering together like this was bound to cause some information to spread and be exploited.
For example, with three powers gathering together, another three powers who were specialized in the former three powers' weaknesses could form a team in order to take them down.
Considering that every faction had two or more Candidates in general, Davis wondered if individual strength wasn't pivotal here. If that were the case, then there could be a lot of team-based battles.
All of this, they had already discussed during their steamy night, so what was left was to stay vigilant but he couldn't push his allies away either.
"We were just talking about how every magical beast factions should have one King- woah, you've also managed to attain King-Tier Blood. You wanna fight?"
"Now, our battle will be legendary~"
Founder Zenflame spread his hands like a phoenix spreading his wings while Founder Rocksunder bowed and took a step back like a raging dragon willing to ram its horns against a mountain.
"Stop!"
"You two want to get disqualified before the Candidacy even begins!?"
The beauties from the two sides, Hirona, Sierra, and Crystia, blocked and berated them.
Isabella and Shirley shook their heads.
There was a limit to how willful they can be here.
Everyone was silently making their way, and they were here making a fuss. The proceedings were like a sacred progression, each Candidate making their way to the central area with immense respect in their hearts.
The Candidacy that they have worked and cultivated hard for thousands of years- no, millions if one took the history of their powers into account, was all going to explode at this moment.
All hardships endured and all wrongdoing inflicted was for this day.
The closer Evelynn and the others got, the more they felt this sacred pressure, as though countless pious groups were making their way toward the central area while carrying all these burdenful emotions.
Davis couldn't see his pals but he knew they were here to, perhaps on the other side of the continent.
Finally, they reached the central area where they had seen the palace. Now, that same palace was standing in front of them, nearly nine kilometers tall.
"It is indeed the Immortal Dreams Palace…"
One of the Ancestors in the crowd uttered but his voice was also confused as to why they were here.
This was not the World Ascension Ceremony but the Candidacy.
However, it seemed the last of them wasn't here, and the sun wasn't high above the skies yet, so they had no choice but to wait to know the answer.
