Chapter 3139 Captives
Numerous youngsters walked out of the battleship, hovering in the air.
They appeared ragged, perhaps a bit tortured, as they looked roughed up a lot. Their expressions were also weak, as though their cultivations were sealed, which left them in low spirits. In all likelihood, they must've undergone some disciplining sessions.
However, Davis wondered if they even needed disciplining, considering the weakest disciple here from the true immortal world was like seven or six levels higher at the very least.
The best course of action would be for them to seal themselves and present themselves to the enemies on a platter, hoping that they would have mercy on them. That was how ridiculous this place was, as the existence of Transcendents completely tipped the advantage in their favor.
Davis did a count and saw that they numbered in the two digits, around sixty-seven people.
This meant that at least fourteen powers were caught, and three of them died, but he didn't know for sure as the casualties could be more. However, looking at their robes, he saw that they were comprised of many factions rather than fourteen. There were as many as twenty-one different robe sets, which meant that there were twenty-one factions.
But that would mean a hundred and five people should've been here, but since only sixty-seven were here, he mused that they must've either been killed or died to Feral Beasts here or, perhaps, even escaped.
"Emperor of… Death…"
Finally, one of the listless captives noticed him in the distance, and then his eyes widened as he saw the leader of the group who captured them hanging upside down. The sight of this caused his heart to leap to his throat while the others expressed their shock with wide eyes, their eyes almost bulging out.
They were all silent, looking at Empyreal Monarch with incredulity.
The sense they got from this incredibly powerful person when they first encountered him was that even the Emperor of Death wouldn't be a match, but here he was, looking absolutely beaten up as his head seemed almost crushed, bloody tears and snot remaining all over his face.
Somehow, pride swelled in their heart, but they didn't know how to express it as their powers, or even they, more or less, saw him as a menace that should be dead by all right.
'Let's see… There are humans and spirits but mostly feys, which sounds about right as they embody the advantages of two races, allowing them to be easily more powerful...'
Davis knew that's why these Transcendents, who were Kingly Monarchs and Empyreal Monarchs, were mostly feys since they could be at King-Tier or Emperor-Tier. Regardless, he continued to see which factions were captured.
'There's the Dark-Winged Tiger Clan, Blaze Wolf Clan, Unrestrained Lightning Heir Spirit Tribe, Nocturnal Abyss Specter Spirit Tribe- woah, isn't that the Golden Phoenix Clan!?'
Davis blinked as he noticed the phoenix-embroidered golden-robed people before he noticed the Cherryweave Clan with their reddish-pink robes embroidered with cherry were also there, causing him to blink.
Back at the Zyrus Family, he saw the Celestial Fairies also enter, so it was entirely possible they were captured as well.
However, he couldn't find them, causing him to wonder if they had escaped or remained dead.
"…!"
But suddenly, his gaze shook as he recognized a person there.
It was a woman.
He couldn't help but leave Aric Stormsong hanging while he moved closer to the captives, heading towards her.
Within a few seconds, he stood in front of that woman.
What should be a stunning woman with long, sleek golden hair, her eyes appearing to be a striking verdant color, dressed in a vibrant golden silk dress with fiery red patterns and accessorized with a golden phoenix hairpin and a matching necklace was now nothing but an ordinary golden-robed woman.
However, the saddening matter was she had her entire face carved, her flesh out in the open, which made her look hideous beyond compare. However, her emerald gaze shook, causing her to suddenly lower her head.
"Don't look…"
She seemed to hide her face with her palms, her voice echoing with shame.
"…"
Davis's lips parted as he couldn't believe he was seeing Fairy Mei Novara in this state. He remembered how stunning she was with her pleasing smile. She had even blushed in front of him when he stared at her for a tease back then, but now, that beautiful and charming face was thoroughly ruined.
"You…"
He wanted to ask who was that dared to do this to a Celestial Fairy, and his first thought was that bastard he hanged upside down, but on second thought, he couldn't help but think that she did this to herself in order to protect herself.
Once he thought of it like this, the question he had was swallowed.
'But… if she's like this… then…'
Instantly, he remembered someone else who should also be there, causing him to scan the crowd, but even after a few seconds of searching, he couldn't find her.
He wondered if she had escaped and could imagine her having escaped as she had the smarts for it. However, he suddenly flinched and looked towards the life ring, sending his soul sense inside.
"Bastard! Let me out! No matter how many times you ask, I'm not going to marry you!"
A melodious yet wrathful voice echoed, causing Davis's sense to manifest into an eye and look at a petite young woman with long, flowing pink hair that fell in loose waves around her face. Her hands seemed to be tied to a bed as she sat on the ground, her face appearing furious.
Her almond-shaped eyes of amethyst color were slightly teary. She draped in a vibrant red silk dress with intricate cherry blossom embroidery, and this outfit completely matched her hair accessory adorned with delicate silk flowers. Her beauty knew no bounds, appearing like a fairy out of a painting, and her petite figure only drew a man's protective nature as she looked like a child in danger.
Davis was shocked seeing Fairy Aila Cherryweave here.
He knew her as a bratty and straightforward woman who didn't act like a fairy with wisdom, but now, she was in tears and frightened.
"Heh~ If you're not going to marry me, then you know what awaits you and your fellow disciples."
Suddenly, Aric Stormsong's voice resounded in a nefarious tone, causing Davis to be taken aback.
And then he realized this bastard left a voice talisman playing in his palace to intimidate her, making Davis want to beat him up thoroughly again.
