Chapter 3855 Encounter With The Remnant
Soon, they crossed the space and landed on the other realm within a few minutes.
'This soon…?'
Davis inwardly gawked as he looked outside.
He was on the deck of the flying ship, looking at the Realm Town that he always avoided because he didn't have any official identity and would be found out. However, the Heaven's Warriors were exempt from such stringent checks.
Regardless, he didn't think he would arrive this soon.
'It seems like this flying ship's spatial warp mechanism even works in the Realm Pathways…'
Davis could only shake his head in disbelief.
Realm Pathways were the spatial routes that connected different realms together, allowing for travel between them. There were no other pathways, at least not safe ones. Even teleportation formations rarely worked between realms. Forcing it would only cause a tear to appear in the fabric of reality, and if they got stuck, chances are they would be crushed or thrown into the empty void.
Soon, Autarch Yulan Nazarin alighted from the flying ship to learn more about the target. He left them in the flying ship, increasing Davis's urge to steal the ship, but yet again, he knew he would be unsuccessful.
However, fifteen minutes later, Autarch Yulan Nazarin was back.
He instantly made the flying ship move towards the northwest, traveling at half the speed, but it was still faster than a Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Flying Ship. It quickly allowed them to chance upon a mountain.
The mountain stood tall and imposing, its rocky face lined with innumerable caves of varying sizes. The dark openings seemed to swallow the surrounding light, hinting at the mysterious depths within. As the flying ship hovered near, Autarch Yulan Nazarin's sharp eyes scanned the mountain, looking for any signs of their target hidden within the labyrinthine caves.
Davis felt a shiver run down his spine as he imagined getting lost in one of those countless passages, unable to find a way out.
He didn't want to enter these passages in order to find their target, as getting lost would mean missing the chance to save his friends.
However, Autarch Yulan Nazarin gestured for them to come with him.
They had no choice but to obey, or rather, follow, since a Heaven's Warrior wouldn't refuse the opportunity to battle evil even if the odds were stacked against them. That is one of the reasons they were revered.
"I found a trail…" Autarch Yulan Nazarin uttered.
He walked into a passageway, heading in the direction of the faint trail he had discovered.
The group followed closely behind them, their footsteps echoing off the walls of the narrow passage.
As they ventured further into the darkness, the air grew colder and the sense of foreboding grew stronger. Davis found remnants of death energy emanating from the walls.
There had been a battle, and to his shock, this kind of energy was at the Immortal Emperor Stage, but he could feel its incredulous density. The force of the remnant energy was as strong as an Empyrean's.
"Please stay closer."
Autarch Yulan Nazarin seemed unfazed, but he warned Clara and headed deeper.
Davis also narrowed his eyes.
He felt that running into this target might be a bit problematic, as they seem to be facing a supreme genius type of character at the very least. However, both Clara and Autarch Yulan Nazarin didn't show any reaction that the other party might be a Divergent.
Considering the surrounding realms, Davis already had an idea who they could be facing, and he didn't like the chances of an encounter with that person as the chances of survival were less even for him.
"Fallen Heaven, can you feel it?"
"Yeah, it's close…"
Davis became more cautious. He didn't say anything and continued following Autarch Yulan Nazarin. The tension in the air was palpable as they neared their target.
As they ventured deeper into the cave, the air grew cooler and damper. The sound of dripping water echoed in the vast chamber, leading them to a breathtaking sight—a large cave lake shimmering under the dim light filtering through the cracks in the ceiling above. The water was crystal clear, reflecting the stalactites hanging from the cave's ceiling like shimmering diamonds. Davis couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of this hidden underground oasis, feeling a sense of awe and tranquility wash over him despite the tension in the air.
There were good ores at the High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade and even at the peak.
However, his attention wasn't there for long as he saw a silhouette emerging from the shadows near a cold rock formation, sending a chill down his spine, not because of the opponent but because of how fast the Heaven's Warrior Autarch tracked down this target while relying on a bit of news and his senses.
He could only imagine what would've happened if he hadn't been careful. Even those Empyreans and Autarchs from the governing power of the realm would've easily tracked him down and pinpointed him with their senses if they got a wind of him.
"Another pursuer? You people don't know when to give up~"
A cold, melancholic voice echoed in the underground cave.
"Well, well, if it isn't Rokushi Mirai, the inheritor of the Thorn-Vine Serpent Clan, who hasn't surrendered. I'm slightly annoyed that you aren't the Divine Emperor of Death, but to think you are capable of using death energy, or is it because of the treasure you possess?"
Autarch Yulan Nazarin spoke slowly before he raised his hand and gestured.
"Obediently surrender. You can still live and spend your time imprisoned for half a million years, or a maximum sentence of one million years, before you are released. There's no need for you to learn Death Laws and fall into insanity. That treasure should be from that accursed world, and keeping it with you would do nothing but harm yourself."
*Bzzz!~*
Autarch Yulan Nazarin unleashed his undulations at Level Three Autarch Stage, making it painfully clear that he was not to be trifled with.
However, Davis saw that Rokushi Mirai wasn't shaken either.
Her cold glare underneath the hood of her black robe only grew in intensity.
"I'd give you the same warning. It doesn't matter if you're a Heaven's Warrior or a supreme expert. Just leave me alone, and no one needs to get hurt."
"You're right."
Autarch Yulan Nazarin nodded, "Your highness, I wish there was more room for you to witness our battle and accumulate experience, but the space here is limited, so I advise you to leave a wisp of your consciousness behind to savor our battle. Although I cannot promise it would pave your path forward, I can guarantee that it would at least give a hint."
"…"
Clara nodded.
She knew, for a fact, that she probably wouldn't be able to handle a single attack. She decided to retreat because she was afraid her brother would reveal himself.
"Die!"
Rokushi Mirai didn't wait for them to make the battle area.
She attacked without a warning, only opening her mouth as she was directly in front of Autarch Yulan Nazarin. Her aura soared as her undulations spread like a storm, darkness enveloping the area as her Level Seven Immortal Emperor undulations wreaked havoc within the underground cave.
*Bang!~*
She directly smashed the ground, causing them to sink as the surface cracked and cave further downward. But to their shock, they were being pulled down, unable to fly.
"What!? A spatial rift!"
Autarch Yulan Nazarin exclaimed, realizing they were trapped in a natural spatial distortion in the shape of a spatial vortex, devouring everything that entered its range.
Desperate to escape, they struggled against the force pulling them deeper into the cave. However, Autarch Yulan Nazarin didn't seem affected.
He quickly tried to save Clara, but Rokushi Mirai was right behind him as she took out a stone that glowed darker than darkness, its pitch-black wave of miasmic death shrouding Autarch Yulan Nazarin in an instant.
