Chapter 2813 Bird Boost
The moment it struck zero in my internal clock, I found the blue energy covering me, and soon I disappeared from the forest and appeared in the huge floating marble disk, on which the Grimms and humans were arriving by the seconds.
SAFE ZONE
A word appeared in front of me for a second before it disappeared.
I looked around and found there were the usual two doors, one to leave this place and the other toward the next challenge.
I looked at them for a moment before my case focused on the huge birdcages on both sides of the doors; these birdcages were similar to the one I have in my hand, but they were huge, nearly twice the size of Grimms and looked like work of art.
There is already a board by the two birdcages, which says deposit the birds into the big cages and receive the boost; it is no brainer that those with the most birds will receive the big boost.
Which is likely why I am receiving the hungry gazes of both Grimms and humans.
I even saw an old hag, Bianca looking at me with hate and fear; though I had returned to my original features after the battle with Grimm and wore a mask and cloak, she could recognize me with the birds I have in my birdcage.
I have to say the old woman had also accumulated quite a lot of birds, which is not surprising, seeing she is powerful.
I am quite surprised as I looked at the humans; nearly 40% of the humans here had been Grandmasters when they had entered this place, but now in just short two months, they had not only reached High-Grandmaster class but also reached its peak.
This place didn’t just call the biggest opportunity in the world for nothing; there is quite a chance that some might have reached the stage of the Grand Lord.
“You have quite a lot of birds, young man; mind sharing some with this old man,” asked Lord Kann, “He is one of the few humans who is not hiding his identity.
“No,” I said, and the old man laughed, “Well, I had to try,” He said with a laugh and walked away. I like this old man, he is not bad, but I would not be sharing the birds with him.
I don’t mind sharing the birds, they are useless to me aside from score, which might be impacted due to it, but I am willing to sacrifice that too for the boost that will help people, but first, I want to see how much boost one is getting thankfully, the first human already appeared in front of huge birdcage.
He placed his birdcage on the platform, and the small birdcage opened on its own, and the twenty-one golden birds inside flew into the big birdcage while the small one had disappeared.
As the cage disappeared, the golden aura covered him and began to seep inside his body. The aura covered him for one minute and twelve seconds, and when he came out of the circle, the advancement he made appeared
“Quite good,” I said, and I walked toward a lone person; there were three humans who had more than a hundred birds in their birdcages; unlike the women, the bird in his birdcage was not surprising. If he couldn’t gather this many, he wouldn’t be deserving of a seat on the council.
As I appeared beside him, he gazed at me coolly with his marked eyes, “Lord Hunt,” I said and could see a slight change in his body language.
“Grandmaster Zaar,” he said warmly after a second of silence.
“You have gathered quite a lot of birds,” I said, looking at his birdcage, “Not as much as you,” he said, “Though, if you require it, I am willing to share some of them with you,” he added, surprising me a little and also made me feel heartened.
Birds are the biggest commodity here; some greedy people like old hag Bianca resorted to threatening and stealing.
“Quite the opposite, Lord Hunt; I am here to ask if you need any,” I said, “I would not deny that some more birds will help me,” he said with a hint of hesitation.
There are many familiar people here, but the reason I chose Lord Hunt is not only because he is a council member and someone I have got to know very well through the years but also because I could see his core and knew it could digest the boost.
He seemed to have some through some fantastic opportunity here; I could see clear changes in his inheritance core, and its quality had improved a lot.
It wouldn’t be a mystery to me for long; I had already started to copy the data from the seed I had placed inside him.
“Take it then,” I said and opened the birdcage under many hungry eyes and began to transfer the birds into his cage.
Birds begin to enter his cage one by one, ten, twenty, thirty…
“Grandmaster, it is too much,” said Lord Hunt as the fifties bird went inside his birdcage. “Take it, lord hunt; I have reached the limit; the boost is not useful to me any longer,” I said.
I am 99% sure that my body will reject the boost; I will get the last confirmation after the boost enters my body.
Finally, when there were only ten birds remaining in my cage, I closed the door and looked at the birdcage of the lord, which now had over two hundred and fifty birds, more than double the number of birds that any human or Grimm present here.
I could feel the envious gazes of both humans and Grimms that had now become more intense on the birdcage of Lord Hunt.
“Thank you, Grandmaster Zaar; I will not forget this favor,” he said. “It is not a big deal, Lord Hunt,” I said.
A few minutes passed, and Lord Hunt decided to take the boost; he appeared beside the huge cage and placed the birdcage on the stand. A second later, the door of it had opened on its own, and the golden birds began to fly into the cage on its own.
It took quite a time before all two hundred and eighty-eight birds went inside the cage, and a moment after that, a golden light covered his body whole before beginning to seep inside him.
Nearly everyone watched as the boost began, and it lasted more than ten minutes before it stopped, and Lord Hunt stepped out of the circle.
His metaphysical scan appeared in front of me, and seeing it; my eyes couldn’t help but widen up for a moment. He had received quite a huge boost, directly taking it to nearly a limit; if he had around fifty more birds, he would have reached the limit.
Still, with his power, he won’t have any problem getting a boost to take him to the limit in the next few challenges.
“Congratulations, Lord Hunt,” I said as he came back, “It all thanks to you, Grandmaster,” he said, to that, I smiled and appeared in the circle.
Hun!
A few seconds later, when the boost covered me and tried to seep inside, it got repelled, but it did not get out of my body as I had expected; instead, a suction appeared on my core and sucked all the boost.
