Chapter 2484 Forced
Six months had passed since the project began and one and a half months since I had received that piece of the mirror; I have been studying it regularly with other subjects, and I have to say, some of the things I have learned through it had already had helped me tremendously.
I am already incorporating what I have learned from it into my Inheritance, especially in the revolutionary formation I have created in the Inheritance.
I was quite busy working when I got called by the Silus Bishop, the head of the Sky Saber and the council member.
I really wanted to reject his summons and even could, given my current standing but decided not to, considering he had a few days taken charge of the war mission department from Lord Whitmore.
If not today, I will have to meet him tomorrow, seeing that he is now responsible for the mission. So, I swallowed my pride and walked toward the office.
Knock Knock
I knocked as I appeared beside the door, and usually, Lord Whitmore called me into the office very next second; when he did not call me after a few seconds, I couldn't help but overthink.
"Come in, Grandmaster Zaar,"
Came his voice in the sixth second, and I pushed open the door and couldn't help but get surprised the moment I entered inside as I saw the familiar back sitting in front of the projection of Silus Bishop.
She had matured, but I will not forget her back and that steel-grey color hair that had been transformed by her Inheritance. Unlike the Bloodlines, very few Inheritance change the physical traits but do when one reaches very high of it, and clearly, she did; it is no surprise given her zeal.
"Lord Bishop," I greeted as I entered while my tone was polite, my eyes were not; we were long past the stage where I put an effort to make my expressions polite.
The only reason I spoke politely was to show respect for his position as a council member.
"Grandmaster Zaar, please take a seat," He offered.
"My thanks, Lord Bishop," I said and sat on the chair he offered. I did not even look at the person beside her, as, like him, I am long past showing any respect. I had tried for years, but it had never been reciprocated, so I stopped trying.
"I have a mission for you, Grandmaster Zaar," He said without any emotions, "I will try my hardest to accomplish it, Lord Bishop," I replied with a straight face.
"I know you will; you have one of the best mission records among all Grandmasters," He complimented. "So, what is the mission, Lord Bishop?" I asked directly.
He flinched faintly, and I could see a flash of anger appearing in its eyes before it had disappeared just as instantly.
I could see him offering a hand, but as I had said, we are long past that; he should have thought of that when he protected and still protecting the people who tried to kill me, and who knows, there might be a direct hand of his involvement in that.
I consider myself a forgiving person, but I will not forgive those people who tried to kill me. If this bastard had not been keeping those three holed up in the organization since the war began, I would have found a way to kill them.
"Your mission is to escort miss Graves to corrupted blood valley and help her acquire an important resource she needs," He said, and I could feel his voice was much harder than before.
I am sure that if he had been present with his real body, he would have definitely pressed me with his aura.
"I am sorry, but I will have to decline this mission Lord Bishop; as you are aware, I am quite busy with the important work," I said, and I could tell my direct refusal had shocked Sarah as her blue-blood eyes became wide as they bored through me.
"Sorry to say, but this mission is not something you can decline easily, Grandmaster Zaar," He said with faint smile downing in the corner of his lips.
I was about to do something even more daring when a mission order appeared in front of me, and I stopped when I saw the seal below.
I could still reject the mission and won't face any consequences as the project is a thousand times more important than any mission but seeing that seal, I decided against it, and not to mention, I am feeling quite cooped up the Pyramid.
It has been two months since I got out of it; it will be a good opportunity to stretch my legs. I just hope Sarah keeps her snottiness to herself; otherwise, this mission would become quite unbearable.
"Since Grand Tower Mistress had signed the mission, I will accept it," I said, making it clear that I am only accepting the mission due to lady angela.
Still, I am quite confused about why lady angela had signed on to this mission; she clearly knows my enmity with the sky saber and these two. I will ask her when I meet her next time.
"I have forwarded the mission details to you; you both will leave for corrupted stell valley tomorrow morning, so make the preparation as it is not easy to place to survive," He said, and I nodded after seeing the file appearing on the holowatch.
"I will leave them; I have many things to do before I leave for the mission tomorrow," I said and got up from my chair before walking toward the door.
He did not stop me, which is good because I didn't want to be in the presence of these two any longer, and if he had forced me, I might have said something that would have been a little regretful.
Click!
I opened the door and took a step out of it when I heard Sarah bidding her goodbye to Silas Bishop before appearing beside me, seeing that I couldn't help but sigh.
I really wanted to leave peacefully, but it seemed like it won't be possible now.
