Chapter 3029 Dangerous Stealing
'Careful, Careful…'
I am saying this mantra over and over as my string carefully wrapped around the white peach.
I am in an extremely dangerous place; there is a monster sleeping closer to the tree, and if it had sensed me. it will be the end of it, as I don't think the three miles distance would affect it much.
I wouldn't have taken such a huge risk if it were not for the tree in the middle of the huge lake of corruption.
Those white peaches are extremely useful resources that will aid me tremendously if I consume them, before the breakthrough.
It is important enough that I am willing to take the risk against the monster, whom even Ashlyn and Nero couldn't match.
There are hundreds of peaches on the tree, but I am only targeting three, one for each of us, but it is truly risky, but I really needed it for the success of my breakthrough.
Slowly the fruit, before completely enveloping in, seeing that a smile 't help but appear on my face.
As it did, the strings wrapped around all three cut it from the branch without making the slightest sound.
As peaches are plucked, they disappeared; they have not disappeared but are enveloped in invisibility, and in their place, different peaches appear, who look the same and also possess the same aura.
Even if I am dealing with a monster, I want to be thorough; the monsters are quite smart about these things.
I slowly begin to bring the plucked peaches toward me. If I pulled them at full speed, it wouldn't take long more than a couple of seconds to bring them toward me, but the monster might discover it.
So, I have to be slow.
A few minutes passed, and the peaches had covered half of the road, and now, only half had remained.
Hun!
Suddenly, I stopped as a frown appeared on the face of a sleeping monster, and it sniffed for some reason while miles away; I remained frozen, not daring even to twitch.
A second later, the expressions eased, but I remained frozen for a minute before pulling the peaches.
A six-minute passed, and finally, the peaches entered the formation where I was hiding, and I immediately took them in my hand.
They are white as snow and radiate pureness that very few resources could.
These are maar radiance peaches; they are similar to stainless lotuses, as they only grew up in corruption.
I looked at them for a moment before turning to the second thing, a small blue bottle in front of me in which an invisible string was burrowed.
This string is sucking the corruption out of the lake, the most power it could bear. Seeing the amount, I had collected, a smile couldn't help but appear on my face.
This is true Primary-II class corruption, very powerful that only my strings could bring it out from the deeper part of the lake.
I had used every bit of the corruption I had gotten from the old snake and wanted to find it, but it was not easy, especially at this level, where even this far, the power of the world was suppressing it.
My strings are the bottle; both are capable of hiding it from the world; I could not let it detect it, as the slightest change in the environment would immediately be detected by the sleeping monster.
This corruption would help me a lot, and if I am able to harvest the big Grimm, this corruption will help me grow a lot of stainless lotuses.
If I did not get that chance, this lake would provide them to me. I had thrown twelve seeds of stainless blood-soul lotuses in the lake. They are the highest-grade seeds I have, and I am sure at least half would grow.
Though, they take a lot of time without growth energy.
Hun!
I began to pull back the string, and barely a second had passed when suddenly, the black salamander opened its eyes.
ROAAARRRR
It opened its mouth and roared loudly; its aura was filled with such power that I felt my soul shaking.
I froze, fearing it had discovered me as it began to sniff before it moved, and it moved with such a speed that I could not follow before stopping, and now, under its claws, the rat monster.
Seeing that, I couldn't help but sigh of relief; the monster had not discovered Nero or me, who was a little ahead of me and provided me with a visual.
I wouldn't have asked Nero to take such a risk if I did not know his abilities. If he remained frozen and used his natural stealth ability, then not even a monster of this caliber would discover him, even if he was a few meters away from him.
I have seen it happen many times with some monster more powerful than this lizard.
Puch!
The salamander pierced its claws inside the rat monster effortlessly; the rat was powerful enough that even I would be no match for it, even after burning my blood, but this salamander effortlessly killed it.
As it did, it began to gorge on it.
It took barely a minute to gorge out the rodent, leaving behind barely anything, before it started to sniff around again, and it did for a few minutes but did not seem to find anything.
It seemed to have relieved it as it went to the old spot and laid on the stone, closing its eyes not long after.
I did not make any movements for ten minutes, and only when I became sure it was truly sleeping did I begin to slowly pull back the string.
Nearly ten minutes later, the string entered inside, and it had brough a thing; a fingernail size purple-black crystal.
It is more powerful than the liquid corruption I had in a collection, and its grade is also higher. There are even more powerful corruption crystals inside the lake, but my strings are not powerful enough to bring them out securely.
Even under the isolation of strings, some aura might leak away, and it will be a death of me.
Even after bringing two strings out, I did not move and instead sat comfortably in my hidden spot.
I will only move when the monster moves for the hunt; Nero has observed it for a few days, and it will move in a day or two.
That will be my chance to leave.
With time in my hand, I sat crossed-legged, sealed my power even more tightly, and closed my eyes before entering inside my core.
There I checked the corruption and fruits for a few minutes before entering the library and started working on my inheritance with my core.
A year had passed since I came to this ruin, and I have faced many dangers, many of which nearly killed me; that seemed to happen almost daily when I was out.
I have survived while always working on my inheritance.
I have made huge progress, but as not as much as I would like to, but I have a year, and I think I might be able to accomplish it if I am continued working as I have been in the past year.
