Chapter 2167: Lancet Ruin
"A weeks ago, we have sensed some the activity of Grimm Monsters and sent a Master to investigate, and within a day we have lost contact with him, after that, we have sent a team of four, with them too we have lost the contact,"
"Three days ago, we sent the last two, they both had very good surviving skills, but twelve minutes ago, we lost contact with them too, with this as their last message," He said, hearing that my expressions couldn't help but become serious.
"Did anyone of them were able to find out what the Grimm Monsters are doing in the Lancet Ruin?" I asked, to which he shook his head.
"No, our assessment is the same; it is Master limit ruin which had been already harvested completely before it had reached our world," He answered.
"Are Grimm's fishing?" I asked. The finishing, as we called it, is a trap. We create fake disturbances in ruin and attract the other side; after that, it is a simple hunt for a powerful powerhouse that is waiting on the other side.
"They might be," He replied, unsure as one is in such a scenario.
"When do I leave?" I asked; he would not have asked me if he did not want me to go to the ruin. I am one of few humans who could fight against the Vidette without dying.
"You will leave immediately." "You have three objectives, first is to kill the vidette, the second rescue our people if they are alive, and third find out if they are simply fishing or there is something else going on in the ruin," he said.
Lord Whitman is more focused on killing the Vidette than rescuing our people, and I could not blame him.
The videttes are a nightmare for the same-level powerhouse. In places like restricted ruins where they are most powerful, the most violet vidette is placed in such a location, making it impossible for Grandmasters to hunt them.
"Ok," I said and walked toward the formation, and a few seconds later, I was in front of the teleportation gate.
The technician is finishing with the last details, so I had just waited while reading the data that Lord Whitman has provided about the Lancet ruin in my core.
"Lord Zaar, the passage is ready," The head technician said about fifteen minutes later. I nodded and stepped into the teleportation without wasting a second.
Since there is Vidette involved, there is a chance that humans that had gone to the ruin are still alive. Unlike most Grimm Monsters and us humans, we like to kill our enemy soon as possible and be done with it, but videttes are not like that.
Since they could not practice other than their combat and could not derive other pleasures such as eating, making. They find different ways to cope in their long lives, and most of them like to play with their prey, which is a bad thing.
It is the reason why, for a second, I hope that Vidette is a sane one and had killed the humans it had found.
The humans became the plaything of Vidette wish they had died; every second is torture, and those lucky or unlucky, as you might say, that have rescued beg from dying and even commit suicide.
If I go by numbers of the past five thousand years, 26% of rescued people commit suicide within a week if they remain unwatched and untreated.
A moment later, I was in the space tunnel; as I reached it, I took out twelve balls and threw them in the space tunnel. Usually, I did not like to mess with space tunnels, but these balls give out the same signal as humans to Grimm's sensors when we breach the wall of the ruin.
Let them think the humans have sent the force; it will keep them a little busy while I investigate and might even humans chance to live longer if they are still alive.
Blop!
A half a minute later, I breached into ruin and found myself crashing into the water hard.
Roar!
I was just about to swim up when I heard the roar within a lake; a second later, a huge monster over twenty meters long appeared in front of me. It is a snake with an especially giant head radiating the aura of peak master.
It had opened its mouth to attack me when I released my aura, and it disappeared. It had closed its mouth so fast and disappeared that even I couldn't help but get surprised.
A smile couldn't help but appear on my face seeing that, though I could kill it immediately. There is no need; I do not have any need for a snake monster, though I would have thought about it if it had been a peak Master monster.
Sup!
A few seconds later, I flew out of the water into the open air; it had been felt like ages I had something like that.
Usually, I hide and try to move away as soon as possible when I enter a new ruin, but I am not doing that anymore. Even if there is an extremely powerful vidette here, which I might not be able to defeat, I am confident in running away from it safely, so there is no need to hide; I even plan to create quite a ruckus here.
"Ashlyn came out," I said softly, and the next second she came out, but she is not the only one; Nero also came out with him.
I opened my mouth to say something but closed it after looking at Nero. "You guys go and see if you could find anything special about this ruin."
"If you do, inform me immediately, and by you are free to kill any Grimm Monster you find but be careful of the violet-colored ones," I said, especially to Nero, who tends to excite quickly.
"You can count on me father, I will quickly find all the secrets of this ruin and report them to you, and if I see any violet one, I feel beat him before feeding him to the little green tree," Nero said with quite a serious expression on his face, which again his poor attempt imitate Ashlyn.
