Although the Chief of the Di Clan was at the top level of the Emperor Realm, he seemed very
vulnerable before Canaan. As he was directly hit by Canaan's attack, he flew straight to the stone pillar
behind him. Blood spurted from his mouth and his face instantly became deathly pale.
Fortunately, the Chief was still someone who would not easily go down on a fight. He quickly adjusted
his posture in the air but wobbled as he landed.
"I am impressed, old man. Your cultivation base sure is strong among human masters. However, before
us members of the Shura Race, you are a mere insect that could be crushed at any time." Seeing that
the Chief could still stand after directly taking his attack, Canaan let out a look of disdain on his face.
"What are you saying? You are from the Shura Race?" the Chief asked with furrowed brows. He was
utterly confused when Canaan claimed that he was actually from the Shura Race. But soon, he
understood what it meant. It just meant that the man in front of him was not the real Canaan.
The man pretending to be Canaan just let out a scoff but didn't utter anything more. Then, countless
sharp and powerful spiritual forces surged out from him, instantly surrounding the Chief of the Di Clan.
Deeming that his life was in grave danger, the Chief immediately gathered all his spiritual power and
condensed it. In the blink of an eye, a golden barrier that looked like a light shield enveloped him.
The next moment, all the countless spiritual forces that came from the member of the Shura Race
rushed towards the golden barrier. Under the violent impact of the spiritual forces, the golden barrier
trembled violently, and the spiritual power that formed it gradually dissipated.
About fifteen minutes later, the golden barrier was not able to hold on any longer. It was fully destroyed
by the surging waves of the spiritual forces.
In a flash, the rest of the spiritual forces completely devoured the Chief of the Di Clan.
Soon enough, the Chief knelt on the ground, bleeding profusely and breathing heavily. However, his
eyes were still unyielding.
"Ha-ha! No wonder you are one of the most powerful warriors in the human race. I can't believe you
were able to hold on up to this point. Unfortunately, you are still a weakling and you will not escape the
fate of being trampled to death!" the fake Canaan shouted, revealing a devilish sneer.
"I will still keep my promise even though I'm about to die. I won't give you the chance to stop them from
leaving..." At this point, the Chief had already figured out that the impostor was trying to stop Rocky
and the others from leaving. In order to prevent the Di Clan from being massacred, he needed to try his
best to drag the member of the Shura Race along with him.
"Forbidden skill of the Di Clan, Soul Destroying Technique!" All of a sudden, the Chief sat on the
ground with his legs crossed. Then, he quickly formed a seal with his hands. In a flash, the light around
him became even brighter and stronger.
Seeing this scene, the fake Canaan's expression turned cold, realizing that the Chief of the Di Clan
was trying to kill both of them by turning everything to ashes. Therefore, he immediately rushed to the
Chief and pierced his chest with his bare hand. As he pulled his hand out, lots of blood splashed on the
ground.
However, the fake Canaan was already a bit late. Almost at the same time, the Chief's entire body
suddenly ignited, releasing an overwhelming force from within him. Immediately after, golden streaks of
light soared into the sky that spread like ripples. In an instant, the side hall and buildings surrounding it
within a hundred meters turned into nothingness and were razed to the ground.
Everyone in the Di Clan saw the dazzling light and was stunned.
Not long after, the golden light dissipated.
When some of the elders had arrived to inspect what had happened, they immediately saw the Chief's
dead body, which looked like withered wood. Apparently, his soul was destroyed since he used the
forbidden skill of the Di Clan. As for the fake Canaan, it seemed that he had disappeared without a
trace.
"The Chief has passed away!" As the news quickly spread among the clan, everyone was filled with
grief. No one expected that such a horrible thing would suddenly happen.
Meanwhile, Rocky and the others were already on their way to the Demon Valley, and they were about
to encounter the biggest crisis after coming to this world.
Three days later, Rocky, Marcia, and the others, who had already passed through the boundary of the
human race and the Shura Race, as well as the guards led by Colton, carefully avoided the members
of the Shura Race that were patrolling the border.
"Commander in Chief Colton, how long would it take before we reach the Demon Valley?" Rocky asked
as he approached Colton.
"We should be there in two days at most. However, if we encounter the patrol troops of the Shura
Race, it will be a bit hard to tell," Colton answered. Actually, Colton had never been to the Demon
Valley before. The place was as terrible as its name. It was a very dangerous place for human masters,
and no one would really dare to enter it alone.
"I see. Then, we should hope not to encounter them..." Rocky replied, knowing that they would suffer
great losses if they were spotted by the Shura Race. But just in case, he had been fully prepared for
this type of situation.
As they continued traveling, Rocky retreated to the right side of the troops, while Marcia was tasked to
vigilantly observe their surroundings.
"Is there something wrong?" Rocky asked Marcia as he saw that she was a bit restless.
"Nothing. But still, we should be very careful. After all, we are already in the territory of the Shura Race.
A lot of bad things could quickly happen if we let our guards down," Marcia said with a serious
expression.
"I am actually a bit concerned about Alyssa. I just hope that she can meet us in time..." Rocky said with
hints of anxiety in his voice.
"Then, what if she were not able to meet us in time?" Marcia suddenly posed a question that no one
really wanted to hear.
Hearing this, Rocky could not help but frown. Of course, it was very risky for them to enter the border of
the Shura Race, so they needed to get to the Demon Valley as soon as possible. From there, they
could open the door that connected the Supreme Ether Land to their previous world. However, if they
could not meet Alyssa on time, everything would get even more complicated.
"I don't know, but I believe that she will be there in time..." Rocky replied after a moment of hesitation.
"Yes. I hope so too. But if she can't arrive in time, I also hope that you know what to prioritize. The Di
Clan and their Chief had given up a lot just to protect us. We only have one chance to make it back. I
know you understand what I mean..." Marcia remarked, reminding Rocky to take the interest of
everybody into account.
Of course, Rocky understood what Marcia meant. If the situation was derailed from their original plan,
they would have to give up meeting Alyssa and reach the door as soon as possible to travel back into
their original world.
"I know. I promise that I will make the right call when the time comes." Rocky knew that he was carrying
the weight of so many people that depended on him. Once he made even one tiny mistake, it could
probably immediately put everyone's lives in immeasurable danger. Hence, he could only put the
overall situation first.
"All right. I will explore the way ahead to secure our path." Hearing Rocky's reply, Marcia nodded her
head in relief. Then her figure disappeared in a flash.
Looking at Marcia's back, Rocky could not help but clench his fists as he felt a storm of emotions
brewing from within him. He kept on thinking that if he didn't lose his power upon arriving in this world,
it wouldn't be that difficult for them to return. However, he had to face the reality. Right now, all he could
do was pray for a smooth journey.
