"I'm afraid Ramon is still a little weak, so need to do something about that," Timothy said.
"I suggest that in this competition, we allow the participants to compete using their comprehensive
ability and not just with pure strength. That way, Ramon can still have an advantage over the other
competitors. That's the only thing we can do," Hannah recommended.
"I think we should come up with a decision first. And then we can discuss the specific arrangements
tomorrow,"
Timothy added as he waved his hand.
"Okay. I'll talk to Ramon about it."
After saying that, Hannah left straight away.
Since it was an urgent matter, she rushed to the Sword Spirit City as fast as she could, where she
found Ramon in the Security Hall. She immediately explained to him the current situation.
"So, you are planning to hold a martial arts competition to select the best person to marry, and you
want me to participant in it?"
Ramon was stunned after hearing Hannah's words.
"That's right." Hannah nodded quickly.
"But why are you asking me to take part in it? There are a lot more disciples in the Sword Spirit Sect
that are stronger, and therefore, more suitable than me," Ramon asked in confusion.
"Well, your age meets the requirements," replied Hannah. But Ramon wasn't satisfied with her reply.
He frowned at her and asked, "If so, shouldn't Basil be more suitable than me?"
"My father has prohibited Basil from participating in it," she answered, shaking her head slightly.
Ramon didn't have to ask any further because he already knew the reason why her father didn't want
Basil to participate.
"But it's your marriage! You should get to decide. Besides, if I win, you'll have to..." Ramon paused
because he didn't dare think about what could happen. Even though he did have a crush on Hannah,
he didn't think he was worthy of being her husband. After all, she was the daughter of the Sword Spirit
Sect's leader.
"I think that it will be for the best if you can win, as that would definitely be better than letting a member
of the Grand Sky Sect win the competition. If you don't want to marry me, then you can just refuse the
marriage once you have won the competition. I won't force you," explained Hannah.
"It's not that I don't want to marry you. In fact, there is a multitude of men out there that want to marry
you, but I don't think I'm worthy to be called your husband. But if you need me, I won't hesitate to do
anything for you," Ramon stated resolutely. "It's very nice of you to say that.
You can just go along with what I have planned," Hannah immediately replied, looking incredibly
relieved. Initially, she had been greatly worried that someone would take advantage of her. After all, the
martial arts competition was not a game. The best outcome she could expect at that point would be
that Ramon won and then refused the marriage.
"I understand," Ramon answered seriously.
"Then I'll go first. Goodbye." After their conversation, Hannah left soon after.
As soon as she had gone, Rocky walked in with a broad smile on his face and said to Ramon, "It looks
like congratulations are in order! You hit the jackpot. If you can win the competition, then Miss Hannah
will be yours!"
It turned out that Rocky had been eavesdropping on Ramon's conversation with Hannah just now, and
that was how he found out about the competition for marriage.
"Don't talk nonsense. I am only going to join so that I can prevent the Grand Sky Sect from winning,
Even if I manage to win, I won't marry Miss Hannah," Ramon retorted defensively, which made the
smirk on Rocky's face grow bigger.
"Why do you think it's impossible? Miss Hannah is not a goddess from a legend; she is a living,
breathing being. You don't have to think so highly of her. In the end, you will make yourself unhappy,"
Rocky lectured him, as a disapproving look flashed across his face.
"Let's not worry about that. Right now, I am more worried about whether or not I can actually win the
competition,"
confided Ramon worriedly.
"That is indeed a worrying thing!" Rocky nodded in agreement.
It was highly likely that most, if not all, of the participants in the competition would be young talents
from various sects and extremely talented masters at the King Realm. And with Ramon's current
strength, it would undoubtedly be difficult for him to stand out among those powerful competitors.
"Honestly, I think you are the most suitable person. But Master Timothy..."
Ramon hesitated.
"I understand where he is coming from though. After all, I just arrived in Sword Spirit City not long ago,
so Master Timothy must have some doubts about me."
Rocky waved his hand slightly to indicate that he didn't mind that.
"Anyway, I have to help Miss Hannah this time. But I am incredibly worried because I only have half a
month left, and I have to improve my strength as much as possible. Can you come with me to the
Black-devouring Swamp again?"
Ramon spoke after he thought for a while.
"I can do that, but even half a month is not enough to boost your strength that much.
I think I have to find another method to help you become stronger in the fastest time possible," Rocky
remarked after thinking for a while.
And Ramon's curiosity was immediately piqued when he heard that. "What method do you have in
mind?"
"Let's talk about it after I figure it out," answered Rocky. He was being vague a little because he
actually had no clue what to do yet.
"Then please think about it quickly," Ramon urged.
"What? You want to win that much, huh? Are you afraid that if you lose, Miss Hannah will have to marry
someone else?" Rocky couldn't help but tease him.
"Don't talk nonsense!" Ramon's face turned beet red, as Rocky seemed to hit the nail on its head.
"For now, you should go and prepare whatever you need, and then we'll go to the Black-devouring
Swamp later. As for the competition, I'll find a way to help you," said Rocky. The truth was that he didn't
want Hannah to get married in that way either, for she was a very useful chess piece to him. He didn't
want to lose such a good pawn, so he had to find a way to keep her.
Unfortunately, only one member of each clan and sect could take part in the competition. Since the
Sword Spirit Sect had decided to let Ramon participate in it, Rocky had no chance.
After leaving the Security Hall, Rocky began to research the best way to strengthen Ramon.
At that moment, a ghost-like figure clothed in white suddenly appeared in front of him. It was a
handsome man with a restrained aura of the King Realm.
"Master Basil, Master Timothy wants to see you!" the white-clad man announced.
"He wants to see me? What about?" Rocky asked with a frown. He was quite surprised that Timothy
summoned him out of the blue.
"I don't know. You'd better ask him yourself!" the man in white answered shortly and then stretched out
his hand, gesturing for Rocky to walk ahead of him.
Rocky nodded and left with him.
The two of them flew out of the Sword Spirit City and headed for the Sword Spirit Sect at the
mountainside, west of the city.
Not long after, they arrived in the Sword Spirit Sect. He looked around a little bit, as it was his first time
to visit the Sword Spirit Sect. It looked like an ordinary sect and seemed to have a long history.
However, for the spirit warriors in the Sword Spirit City, the Sword Spirit Sect was like a sacred place.
Even ordinary spirit warriors at the King Realm couldn't easily enter the Sword Spirit Sect, and there
were only a few hundred people in the entire Sword Spirit Sect.
"This way please..." The man called for Rocky's attention again. They headed toward the southern
side, where they passed through a spacious road and entered a stone path paved with cobblestones.
Not long after, Rocky saw a single elegant building in front of them.
In the middle of the building was an open door. The decoration inside was indistinctly visible, and the
room looked like a study.
As soon as the two of them arrived in front of the study, the man reported politely, "Master Timothy, I've
brought him here."
"Let him in!" Timothy's calm voice echoed from somewhere within the study.
Hearing that, the man turned to Rocky and said, "You may enter."
