Rocky nodded. Then he walked over to Ramon and asked, "Are you all right?"
"I am all right. But his sword array is too powerful to resist. You must be careful and not exert yourself
beyond your limits." Ramon had spent the last fortnight with Rocky and was aware that Rocky was
much stronger than him. But he felt that even with his enormous strength, Rocky might not be able to
break the sword array Xavier had developed.
"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. You need to go back and heal yourself." Rocky helped him get up.
Ramon nodded slightly, cast a glance at Xavier, and left the field.
Now, only Rocky and Xavier were left on the field, and an eerie silence fell on their surroundings. The
audience were trying to guess what would happen. Theoretically, Rocky was not a match for Xavier.
However, the man had pulled off unimaginable stunts and surprised people every time there had been
a battle. Therefore, the audience were expectant for something similar.
"That guy is courting death," Miguel sneered sinisterly. He was sitting near the edge of the arena and
was certain that Xavier would kill Rocky without mercy.
"Boy, you are quick to react," Xavier remarked from between gritted teeth and looked at Rocky
gloomily. If Rocky had been just a moment late, Ramon would have been dead.
"Thank you. I won't say anything more. Why don't you teach me the sword array you just performed?"
Rocky asked provocatively.
The audience felt like Rocky was going crazy. For god's sake, the man was deliberately trying to irritate
Xavier before making a move. They all knew that there was only one consequence of such a
preposterous action.
"Okay, now you're asking for it. If anything happens to you, don't blame me." Xavier was inwardly
happy on hearing Rocky's request. He thought that Rocky was too full of himself and now, this
provocation had given him an excuse to kill the man.
Therefore, Xavier did not hesitate and immediately applied the sword array. His Blood Sword flew
towards the ground, and the eight sword auras rushed out once more. In an instant, hundreds of sword
auras had risen from beneath his feet, intertwined with each other, and completely intertwined Rocky in
a cage-like structure.
The audience were beginning to get worried about Rocky. Once he was hit by the sword array, he
would be in fatal danger.
"Can Basil break the array?" Tessa murmured to herself, nervously biting her lips in anticipation.
For a brief period, the sword array felt a little too quiet, as if no one were there, which made Xavier a
little confused. Normally, Rocky should have been struggling inside it, fighting for his life. But no
spiritual power was spreading out of the array, as if Rocky were no longer inside it. But that was
impossible.
Even the audience began looking here and then, trying to find out where the man had gone.
Suddenly, an overwhelming sword aura whooshed out from the center of the sword array into the sky.
Then, it fell like a giant tornado upon the array and in the blink of an eye, had cut the entire sword array
in two halves.
The raging sword aura disappeared without a trace.
The move was so unexpected that people didn't even know how to react.
"Basil just broke Elder Joseph's most powerful sword array like a twig. The elder would be furious if he
was present," Harrison sighed. His eyes fell on the figure standing right where the sword array had
been a moment ago. It was holding a huge sword in its hand.
This figure was Rocky, who had just broken the sword array.
"How is that possible? How did you do that? How?" Xavier was annoyed at the idea that his sword
array was fragile as glass against someone.
"I thought this array was powerful, but it's all flash and no bang. I am willing to cut you some slack if it is
because you haven't mastered the true essence of swordsmanship yet," Rocky said disapprovingly. He
was right. Perhaps in other people's eyes, Xavier's sword array was flawless, but for a man like him
with immense experience, it was garbage.
"Well, I think you were just lucky last time. You won't be able to break it again," Xavier said, clearly
planning on using the same move once more.
"I don't have time to play with you. It's boring. But I will let you admit your defeat in honor," Rocky said
with a slight smile. He waved the Mystical Dragon Sword in his hand lightly, and it instantly released a
stream of sword aura that rushed into the sky. Far above their heads, the aura turned into a giant star
which exploded. From that explosion were born thousands of smaller stars that rained down upon the
arena.
This scene shocked everyone. They had never seen such a terrifying move.
"Isn't that the Thousand-star Swordsmanship? It looks like that to me. What's going on? How the hell
does he know about the unique swordsmanship of our Sword Spirit Sect?" Harrison couldn't sit still
anymore. He was shocked to the core when he saw Rocky use the Thousand-star Swordsmanship.
Everyone knew that the swordsmanship was a unique skill indigenous to the leaders of the Sword Spirit
Sect. Only the leaders could cultivate it. Even the current sect leader had been witnessed employing
this move just once. There was a rule in the Sword Spirit Sect that the swordsmanship should not be
used unless it was an emergency. It was extremely destructive and could cause damage of a hundred
different kinds.
"Everybody, retreat!" Harrow yelled at the top of his lungs.
At the sounds of his scream, people finally realized what was going on and pandemonium ensued.
Just as they began to retreat, the sword shadows reached the battle ring and covered it whole.
Strangely enough, they did not reach even an inch beyond the battle ring's boundaries.
Xavier was also shocked, but he didn't have time to react. When he saw the sword shadows rushing
towards him, all he could do was run for his life. However, his protective spiritual power was broken
through very soon and he was then hit by at least one sword shadow every few seconds. Although he
didn't feel anything, a strange sensation would arise inside him every time he was hit.
After a long time, the sword shadows gradually dissipated.
Xavier was still standing there, out of breath, but seemingly unharmed.
"Ha, I thought it was some powerful swordsmanship, but it was just an illusion." Seeing that he was
completely unharmed, Xavier burst into a mocking laugh.
The audience couldn't understand what was going on either.
Harrison was the only one who understood and began shaking his head.
"You must have been hit by at least ten shadows just now, right?" Rocky asked with a smile.
"So what? Even a hundred of these can't hurt me," Xavier said dismissively.
"I disagree. Didn't I tell you? My swordsmanship won't hurt you directly, but it will add up before dealing
a collective damage. The more you get hit, the greater the damage will be later. Look at your chest,"
Rocky reminded with a calm smile.
Xavier immediately looked down and saw that blood was beginning to seep out, gradually increasing in
speed. Although he did not feel anything, he already knew that the blood was his own.
A few moments later, several streams of blood suddenly gushed out from hundreds of wounds on his
chest at such a rapid pace that his clothes exploded. Hundreds of wounds were laid out on his chest,
as if from a grenade.
"Argh!" It was only then that Xavier felt a heart wrenching pain that sent him reeling on the ground in
shock and anguish. He was facing hell on earth.
"That was me showing you mercy. If I had really wanted to hurt, you wouldn't even be able to scream.
So you'd better stop helping Miguel or else..." Rocky walked towards his opponent and said in a low
voice, leaving his sentence dangling threateningly. Then he brushed past him and looked around the
crowd. "Who else wants to challenge me?"
Since the crowd had already witnessed the overbearing power of the Thousand-star Swordsmanship,
the rest of the warriors, even those at the King Realm, who were allowed to challenge him didn't have
the courage to do so anymore.
Seeing that no one was coming up, Rocky looked at Harrison who was still in shock at what had
happened.
"There is no challenger anymore, so Basil is the winner. As the winner, Basil will be appointed the
leader of Security Hall. Once I report to the Sword Spirit Sect and get their approval, his appointment
will be official." Although Harrison was highly confused by Rocky's swordsmanship, Rocky had won the
post fair and square according to the rules of the competition.
"Thank you very much, sir!" Rocky said gratefully, cupping his hands.
"That's all for today. Basil, come with me." Harrison beckoned Rocky.
Rocky knew that the governor was going to ask him something about the Thousand-star
Swordsmanship.
Once they had left the training ground and were alone, Harrison turned around.
"Basil, what's the name of the swordsmanship you just used? It doesn't seem to be a sword skill of our
Sword Spirit City," Harrison asked straightforwardly.
"Oh, it's called the Thousand-star Swordsmanship," Rocky answered bluntly, not trying to hide the
fact.
