"Of course, but we must keep it a secret!" Rocky said, pretending to be serious.
"Sure, I'll ask for the young master's permission first and then I'll cooperate with you. Let's catch those
retched traitors in the Sky-suppressing Mansion. By the way, do you have a place to stay here?" Ishaan
suddenly asked.
"I'm afraid I have none since we just arrived here," Rocky answered and shook his head.
"If you don't mind, I have spare rooms for distinguished guests in my Spiritual Beast Palace. Why don't
you rest there? I'll report everything to the young master as soon as I finish arranging everything here,"
Ishaan said sincerely.
"We would love to. Thank you for your kind offer!" Rocky thanked him as he saluted politely.
Ishaan then ordered someone to take Rocky and Shirley to their rooms in the palace.
As soon as they entered the room, Shirley quickly closed the door and whispered, "Why did you tell
Ishaan directly that we're looking for traitors? Aren't you afraid of alerting him?"
"Don't worry. I'm almost certain that he's one of the traitors, but I reckon there's someone in the
shadows controlling his every move. The reason I told Ishaan about our mission was to flush out the
man in charge," Rocky explained to her.
"And if there really is someone lurking in the shadows, aren't you afraid that they'll hurt us?" Shirley
asked in a stern tone. She thought that Rocky had put their lives in danger, but she also knew this was
the most effective way to get what they wanted. After all, Ishaan was a cunning old fox. If they
investigated him in secret, they might end up empty-handed.
"Offending the Sky-suppressing Mansion is nothing serious," Rocky said and smiled calmly.
"Humph! That's easy for you to say. If we anger them, we might get banned from entering Ethereal
Region..." Shirley disagreed immediately, pouring cold water on his reckless idea.
"If that happens, then we'll finally have the chance to take refuge in Alyssa together!" he answered
back with a wide grin etched on his face.
Shirley couldn't help but roll her eyes at him upon hearing this.
"I think Ishaan wouldn't be patient enough to wait a little longer. He'll surely act very soon. Stay here
and wait for me. If I don't come back tomorrow, that only means I'm in trouble," Rocky said as he got up
to leave. He knew it was his responsibility to take care of the risks of his actions.
"No, I'll go with you!" Shirley insisted. She certainly wouldn't let Rocky venture off on his own.
"It's too dangerous for both of us to go there. Plus, if something happens to me, I need someone I can
count on to save me," Rocky said sincerely.
"All right then. Be careful." With a heavy sigh, Shirley finally agreed. It was up to only the two of them to
carry out this mission. If both of them were to be captured, no one would come to their rescue.
With a nod, Rocky opened the door and left.
Meanwhile, after taking care of his business in the Spiritual Beast Palace, Ishaan wasted no time and
immediately headed towards the Sky-suppressing Mansion. Little did he know that Rocky was trailing
closely behind him.
They arrived at the heavily-guarded mansion an hour later, but it didn't take much effort for Rocky to
sneak in.
Ishaan headed straight towards the south side of the Sky-suppressing Mansion.
Rocky followed him into the garret and saw two words written on top of the entrance. It read "Cloud
Pavilion". As soon as he saw Ishaan enter the building, he made his way up to the roof of the second
floor. Kneeling to avoid being seen, he could only see their silhouettes through the elegantly carved
wooden window.
The second floor of this building looked like a study filled with countless books. In the middle of it, a
figure with a powerful aura was sitting cross-legged in a jade ice bed, motionlessly meditating.
Ishaan's loud voice broke the deafening silence as he came barging into the room. "Young master, I
have some bad news!"
Irritated by this, Canaan slightly opened his eyes and shot a cold look at his servant. "What happened?
Why are you in such a hurry?" he asked in anger.
"Our plan to trade with the commander in chief of the spiritual race has been exposed," Ishaan said as
his face turned pale-white.
"Oh, how did you know our plan was exposed?" Canaan who was intrigued by how this happened,
calmly asked.
"A spiritual king named Basil, who works for Commander Tucker Wang of the left army, approached me
this morning. He came to the Spiritual Beast Palace and told me there was a traitor in the Sky-
suppressing Mansion. He wanted me to cooperate with his investigation," Ishaan duly said.
"Is that what he told you?" The young master frowned.
"Yes." Ishaan nodded.
"It seems that you were fooled by him." Canaan's calm face suddenly became stern.
"I was fooled by him?" Ishaan didn't know what to say.
The young master's spiritual pressure suddenly sky-rocketed as it headed towards Rocky's direction.
"Come out. There's no need to hide anymore."
Rocky did not expect that Canaan would be able to easily find him. He finally understood why he was
at the level of the Emperor Realm.
Despite being exposed, Rocky kept his cool and released his own aura. He then broke through the
window and landed in front of the young master.
"I must admit, you really are as powerful as people claim," Rocky greeted with a smile as he cupped his
hands.
"You..." Ishaan struggled to utter any words. He felt like a fool for being played like that.
"Are you the Basil we were talking about just now?" Canaan asked as he surveyed every inch of
Rocky.
"Yes."
"I must admit, you're very brave for coming here alone!" Canaan was able to sense everything within a
few hundred meters of his spiritual power. He was sure he didn't detect someone else with Rocky.
"With great risk comes even greater reward. Humph! I didn't expect that the young master of the Sky-
suppressing Mansion would be so corrupt! Colluding with the commander in chief of the spiritual race
to betray the human race is simply insidious!" Rocky let him get a piece of his mind.
"Oh, so do you want to uphold justice now? What a joke!" Canaan sneered scornfully.
"Why did you do that?" Rocky continued to berate him. He couldn't wrap his head around the reason
why Canaan would do such a thing. The young master was already an esteemed and well-off figure.
He would gain nothing from ruining the good name of the Sky-suppressing Mansion.
"I don't need to explain anything to you. I am doing what I think is right. It's time for the human race to
change. Everything I have done is for the sake of their future. You won't understand anything," Canaan
said arrogantly with his head held high.
"It may be true that I won't understand the reason behind your actions, but you should know there are
consequences for everything you do," Rocky bit back. Rocky could tell that Canaan's reason was too
extreme and radical for him to accept it.
"If you want to change for the better, you should be willing to sacrifice. This principle applies to the
human race as well. I am the only one willing to sacrifice something for the greater good," the young
master retorted.
"Then stop talking nonsense. Let's fight!" Rocky demanded. He was well aware that Canaan would not
let him leave so easily, so he chose to fight him instead.
"Young master, let me fight him!" Ishaan offered. He was filled with anger and embarrassment after
being tricked by Rocky. He wanted nothing more than to kill the man in front of him with his own hands.
"Let him go." To everyone's surprise, Canaan ordered his servant to stand down.
"But he already knows our plan!" Feeling even more confused and flustered, Ishaan couldn't help but
raise his voice at his own master.
