"What are you going to do now that the Tiger Whisker Pass has fallen to the enemies? Are you going to
just hide here in the Wild Hill Pass and wait for the worst to come? That's definitely not your style!"
Because Shirley knew Rocky so well, it was like she could read his mind. She was sure that he would
never just sit on the sidelines and wait for death to show its face.
"No. I have figured out the reason why the spiritual race has chosen to occupy Tiger Whisker Pass, and
I successfully nipped their plan in the bud. Now, it's time to focus on recapturing the Tiger Whisker
Pass!" Rocky said with determination in his eyes.
"Do you need my help?" Shirley offered. She craved to work alongside Rocky again.
"No thanks. I have a more important job for you," Rocky replied.
"What is it?"
"I need you to look for a man." From his back pocket, Rocky removed a portrait. The person in the
portrait was Elder Lenard, the man who had made the deal with Phelps. Rocky wanted to find out Elder
Lenard's true identity. That way, they may be able to discover who he worked for.
Shirley took the portrait from him, scrutinized it, and asked, "Is this man's appearance accurate?"
"I'm pretty sure!" Rocky replied.
"Okay then. I'll ask someone to look into it right away, but it may take some time!" Shirley said.
"Oh, I'm not in a hurry. All of it is in your hands now," Rocky responded.
"Don't worry. I'll see it through. Catch you later." In a short amount of time, Shirley had matured a lot.
Although she didn't want to leave Rocky, she knew that what Rocky had asked her to do was very
important. It would have to become her priority.
After Shirley departed, Rocky returned to his tent and entered the Magic Spiritual Space. The moment
he arrived, a dozen Human-shaped Giant Beasts he had captured were standing before him.
It would be impossible for him to control so many Human-shaped Giant Beasts at once using his
Mysterious Beast Transformation Skill. In fact, it would not be an easy job to control even just one of
those beasts. Normally, a beast master and some other personnel were needed to control one. Rocky
had to prepare himself to do it all alone.
Right now, he had to think of another method of controlling the Human-shaped Giant Beasts. After a
while, he decided to transform them. To do that, he was going to have to perform a small operation on
them that would make them follow his orders unconditionally.
The only downside was that it would take a long time.
However, transforming the Human-shaped Giant Beasts would be worth it in the future.
While Rocky kept busy making his preparations, Phelps was brimming with rage and embarrassment
over the stolen troop distribution map.
He looked around his tent at all the commanders and deputy commanders. Their heads were hung low
and none of them dared to make a sound.
"You are all useless! Such a disappointment!" Phelps scolded, throwing his hands up into the air to
prove his frustration.
"Grand Commander, maybe the army guarding the Tiger Whisker Pass stole the troop distribution map
from us?" a commander speculated.
"It's quite possible. Maybe they deliberately retreated from the Tiger Whisker Pass to see why we
attacked them. Then they tailed me and witnessed my deal with the humans," Phelps replied. Even if
he were right and had figured out who stole the map, it was too late.
"It looks like our deal with that clan has been revealed."
"They probably don't know which clan we are working with. They only know that we have obtained the
troop distribution map. If they had known more, they wouldn't have risked taking it in the first place,"
Phelps said, shaking his head.
"Grand Commander, what are we supposed to do now?"
"What else are we supposed to do?! We need to take back the troop distribution map, of course!
Otherwise, how are we going to explain what happened to the commander in chief? Send your men out
to search for any traces of the human army that retreated from Tiger Whisker Pass. They must be
somewhere near us. Find them!" Phelps ordered.
Without wasting a second, the commanders and deputy commanders accepted the order and hurried
on their way.
Soon, several troops each made up of a thousand men set out from Tiger Whisker Pass and searched
relentlessly for a couple of miles. It wasn't long before they discovered Tucker's army. They were hiding
in the Wild Hill Pass.
Rocky wasn't surprised that the spiritual race army had found their location so soon. If everything went
as he had expected, they would attack the Wild Hill Pass next and try to kill them all. It would be risky
but it also gave Rocky and his men a chance to fight back.
"Commander Wang, the spiritual race army will attack the Wild Hill Pass soon. We have to make
preparations and take back the Tiger Whisker Pass!" Rocky told Tucker as he walked into his tent.
"Take back the Tiger Whisker Pass? Are you serious? Is that even possible?" Tucker asked, baffled by
his words.
"Nothing is impossible. Commander Wang, do you remember those giant spiritual beasts I captured?"
Rocky said.
"Of course. Are you saying that you want to use those spiritual beasts to attack the city?" Tucker asked
even though he understood what Rocky was planning.
"Exactly," Rocky replied, nodding.
"But can you control that many spiritual beasts on your own? That doesn't sound easy!" Tucker
exclaimed. His face now held some uncertainty.
"It won't be a problem for me, at least, not for long," Rocky answered confidently.
Tucker didn't know what to say after hearing this. He wondered if Rocky ever found anything difficult!
"But if we really want to attack the Tiger Whisker Pass, we would need at least five thousand soldiers to
fight alongside the beasts. That would leave only around ten thousand soldiers here guarding the Wild
Hill Pass..." Rocky added. He was confident in his own mission but he didn't know if the soldiers that
guarded Wild Hill Pass could hold on long enough for it to work.
"If you think you can take down Tiger Whisker Pass, I believe ten thousand soldiers will be enough to
hold here for two days," Tucker said, ignoring Rocky's worries.
"That won't be enough. We need to preserve our strength as well. If we were to take down the Tiger
Whisker Pass, we would have to guard it while we wait for reinforcements. The problem lies with the
troop distribution map. The spiritual race army won't stop fighting until they get it back. By that time, the
battle will be out of our hands!" Rocky predicted.
"But it looks like we are left with no other choice. Now that we know what the spiritual race is trying to
do, we must keep the troop distribution map in our possession. They can't get their hands on it again,"
Tucker said firmly. There was no time to cower. If he wanted to protect his people, he had to act.
"I just hope that you are mentally prepared for what will come!" Rocky said with relief after Tucker made
up his mind.
"Thank you. I'm sorry that we have to rely on you again." Tucker felt some shame wash over him. He
was the commander of the army, but he was well aware that if Rocky hadn't come to their rescue in
time, things might have been much worse for them.
"It's no big deal. I'll go and make my preparations now." After saying that, Rocky disappeared.
"Basil is so talented. It's unfair that he is only a captain. If he can successfully take back the Tiger
Whisker Pass and help us keep it, maybe I can promote him to my assistant!" Tucker murmured to
himself.
