"Captain Ramon, I know that though you almost always wear a cold expression, I can see that you are
honest, generous, and loyal. That's why I think that if it's you, I won't need to hide the truth. I only
wanted to join the Sword Spirit Sect because I had no choice. But please believe me when I say that I
will never do anything to pose any threat to the sect. When the right time comes, I will also leave. I
promise that until then, I won't cause any trouble to you or Miss Hannah," Rocky said with sincerity.
After quite getting along with Ramon these past few days, he believed that even though the captain
didn't have the friendliest attitude, he was true to himself. Thus, Rocky chose to trust him.
"Why should I believe you?" Ramon asked with a straight face, fixing his cold eyes on Rocky.
"Well, I don't really know how I can convince you. I leave the choice to you, captain. You can either
trust me or tell Miss Hannah what I just said. It's in your hands now whether I can still stay or not." After
nodding slightly, Rocky turned around and left the lounge.
"Humph! That guy is really annoying!" Looking at the receding figure of Rocky, Ramon couldn't help but
clench his fists and grit his teeth. He didn't expect that he would hesitate like this. Initially, he was so
determined to find anything that could make the newcomer leave. However, after everything that had
happened, he eventually saw Rocky's real side. With the vast experiences that he had accumulated in
his life, his gut was telling him that Rocky wasn't lying. He wasn't completely sure of the young man's
motive, but he could tell that Rocky wouldn't pose a threat to the Sword Spirit Sect. Therefore, at that
moment, it was pretty difficult for him to decide whether he should report him or not.
"Needless to say, I will have to keep an eye on him!" Eventually, Ramon made up his mind and didn't
tell Hannah or anyone what Rocky had revealed to him.
At the same time, in less than a day, the news that Rocky had defeated Cory in the competition had
already spread all over the Sword Spirit Sect and caused a great sensation. Everyone was talking
about it and they were in utter disbelief. After all, Cory was one of the prominent disciples of the sect
and his strength was rather outstanding. On the other hand, Rocky was supposed to be below average
in terms of strength, as he had just become a preliminary disciple.
It was actually hard for the members of the sect to understand how Rocky triumphed over Cory. Even
the disciples present at that time were dumbfounded because they were pretty sure that Cory's
strength was far superior. However, Cory lost fair and square, and that also was an irrefutable fact.
Needless to say, after that battle, Rocky's position in the Cloudlet Team had risen a lot, and his
reputation in the Sword Spirit city had also skyrocketed.
However, for such a powerful force like the Sword Spirit City, which had so many outstanding talents,
this kind of news was supposedly going to subside after just a few days.
But to Rocky's surprise, a troublesome situation came to him less than two days after the event.
Two members of the Cloudlet Team rushed into their lounge with an anxious look on their faces. As
they found Rocky there, who was still sitting in the room and was drinking a cup of tea, one of the
disciples immediately informed him, "Basil, something bad happened! Some of our team members
were taken away by the Wolf Team. They said that they would just let them go if you redeem them by
yourself!"
"What? Did you report this to Captain Ramon already?" Rocky asked at once. When he heard that it
was the work of the Wolf Team, he knew that it was going to be troublesome.
"No. Captain Ramon has left the town early this morning. He is currently on a mission to escort Miss
Hannah," the other disciple replied.
"What timing. Then, let's go and find Captain Eliseo," Rocky suggested.
"Captain Eliseo also isn't here. He had taken a dozen of our men to patrol the city, and he ordered the
two of us to be on duty here. Didn't you hear that earlier?" the disciple answered.
'This isn't a coincidence. The Wolf Team is really waiting for this moment. I'm so tired of their petty
shenanigans. If they really want a trip to hell, I will gladly give them a ride that they will never forget.'
Rocky's eyes were set ablaze, knowing that the Wolf Team deliberately took this opportunity to take
revenge since they miserably lost to the Cloudlet Team last time. Obviously, they were luring him into a
trap, but he knew that they wouldn't be able to do anything to him.
All of a sudden, Rocky gave off an astonishing aura, signaling that he was ready to play with the
scoundrels from the Wolf Team. Then, he said to the two disciples, "Go to the city and find Captain
Eliseo as fast as you can, and tell him what happened. Ask him to come back immediately. For now, I'll
go to the area of the Wolf Team and buy some time. Understand?" Without waiting for the reply of the
disciples, he quickly set out and left the two in a daze.
Meanwhile, in the yard outside the lounge of the Wolf Team, several members of the Cloudlet Team
were hung upside down from a big tree, and each of them was covered in cuts and bruises. A dozen
members of the Wolf Team surrounded them and were beating them like they were a bunch of
sandbags. They received a lot of punches, kicks, and insults from time to time. The Wolf Team
members didn't care if they were fellow disciples from the same sect, because they felt that they were
superior to others.
"Enough!" After a while, a figure, who was wrapped in white bandages all over, limped out.
It turned out to be Cory. He was still in a pretty bad state after Rocky gave him quite a serious beating a
few days ago.
"I heard that you have been close to Basil recently that you even regard him as your brother. Is that
true?" Cory asked the members of the Cloudlet Team intimidatingly.
"No. It's nothing like that." "We're not…" The members of the Cloudlet Team had somehow uttered
some words as they profusely shook their heads.
"Really? So, I'm lying? Do you think that I'm an idiot?" Cory shouted in rage and swiftly kicked one of
them, instantly making this disciple spit out a mouthful of blood.
"Don't you know that Basil greatly offended Captain Xavier? Yet you still chose to get close to him. So,
what are you trying to say? You're not taking our captain and our team seriously? Is that it?" Cory
continued to vent his anger, intentionally borrowing Xavier's name to instill fear into the hearts of the
Cloudlet Team members.
The several members were actually well aware that Cory had only caught them so that they could take
revenge on Rocky. So, whatever they said at this point would just be useless. They just hoped that
Ramon and the other members of their team came as soon as possible to rescue them.
"I'm telling you, if Basil doesn't come today, all of you are going to be dead meat!" However, as soon as
Cory finished his words, the people in the yard heard a couple of screams that came from outside.
Then, two of the Wolf Team members, who were guarding the door, were thrown into the yard before a
familiar figure waltzed in. The calm yet powerful momentum of this figure made Cory and the others
tremble with fear.
"Cory, I came just like what you wanted. Now, let them go." Rocky got straight to the point when he saw
Cory in the yard. Upon hearing the information from the two disciples of the Cloudlet Team earlier, he
instantly knew that it was actually Cory's order to capture his fellow members.
"Humph! Aren't you a little too brave, Basil? You have the guts to come here alone?!" In fact, Cory
didn't expect that Rocky would appear without any other members of the Cloudlet Team to accompany
him. Of course, it was a part of their plan to conduct this scheme, knowing that Ramon and Eliseo
would be absent today. But still, for Rocky to come alone, he thought that the newcomer was being too
cocky.
"I said let them go," Rocky repeated in a cold tone.
"Fine. Kneel in front of me and beg for mercy. I will immediately release them if you obey me!" Cory
said ferociously.
"Ha-ha! Oh, Cory. You make me laugh so hard. I don't think you realize how bad of a mistake you made
this time." Rocky shook his head and let out a devilish laugh, which made them feel rather uneasy.
He was actually infuriated because he hated being threatened the most.
"Ha! Don't be so full of yourself. You have offended Captain Xavier, and you only deserve to be
punished with your very life!" Cory insisted, still pretending that his anger was out of righteous
indignation.
"You pathetic coward! You're lying! Your captain should not know about it," Rocky sneered. He knew
that no matter how tough Xavier was, he still needed to protect his reputation. Thus, there was no way
that he would command something that would greatly threaten the lives of the disciples from the Sword
Spirit Sect.
"Humph! You don't know what you're talking about! Come on! Go and beat him! Killing him won't be a
big deal!" Cory flew into a rage and sternly ordered the members of the Wolf Team.
However, at that time, the team members glanced at each other and were at a loss of what to do. It
was fine for them to physically assault someone, but killing was out of the question.
"Don't worry about this piece of garbage! Nobody is going to get punished even if he dies! What are
you waiting for? This is the captain's order!" Cory shouted with a malevolent look in his
eyes.
