"Ally seemed all right two days ago. What made it so irritable now? Could it be sick?"
Hannah asked, looking perplexed. Ally had been with her since it was a cub, and it had always been
obedient and even-tempered. In fact, it had rarely shown such mercurial temperament before.
"We have no idea what is happening. Several beast curers have come to check on it, but none of them
could find anything wrong!" the man in charge of the beast farm immediately answered.
He looked harried and frightened, possibly because Hannah could easily blame him and punish him.
But Hannah didn't get angry at him. Instead, she turned to look at Rocky hopefully, knowing that he was
also very proficient in beast curing.
"Basil, do you know what's wrong with Ally?"
Rocky was quiet for a moment as he thought about it. Then he said, "I think it might be in heat, so it
must be longing for a mate."
"In heat? What does that mean?" Hannah looked stunned for a moment, as she had not expected that
answer.
"It is autumn right now, and spiritual beasts typically reproduce during this season. It is highly likely that
Ally has reached maturity, so all its instincts are driving it to reproduce. Therefore, it is in a hurry to find
another beast to mate.
This is a normal process that all beasts go through, so you don't have to worry. It's not a big deal!"
explained Rocky succinctly.
"Oh, is that so?
I guess I have to find a suitable spiritual beast to mate with Ally right away."
Hearing Rocky's explanation brought instant release to the anxiety in Hannah's mind, and she let out a
deep sigh. She had been incredibly concerned at first, but it seemed that Ally's problem could be easily
dealt with, which was a great relief.
"I'm afraid that's not a good idea. Spiritual beasts like Ally won't be willing to mate with spiritual beasts
arranged for them. The best thing that you can do is to let it select the mate it wants,"
Rocky reminded her gently but firmly.
"Oh, no, I can't do that. Ally is incredibly talented, so its genes must be exemplary. It will be a great loss
if it finds an inferior spiritual beast to mate with!" Hannah cared deeply about Ally and thought of it as a
family member, so she didn't want anything bad to happen to it at all.
"I think you are misinformed. A beast's mother is the main source and therefore has the biggest impact
on the descendant's characteristics. That is why even if Ally finds a low-grade spiritual beast, it won't
cause too much impact,"
Rocky reassured Hannah.
"No. I can't let it find a mate by itself,"
Hannah insisted, shaking her head vigorously. It seemed that she was resolved not to let Ally have a
choice.
"So, are you going to find one for it even if it doesn't like your choice?" Rocky looked sideways at
Hannah as he spoke as if he was judging her in the privacy of his mind.
"I can get multiple beasts that it can choose from.
I'm sure if I get a lot, there will be one among them that can satisfy it, right?" replied Hannah.
"Well, I can't force you if that's what you want to do. But you have to be mentally prepared for what will
happen."
Rocky seemed to have given up, as he just shook his head at Hannah's pigheadedness.
"Has anybody told you that you talk a lot?" said Hannah suddenly.
She had a teasing smile on her face despite the harsh words because she knew that Rocky was just
doing that for her own good.
"I'm just trying to help. Anyway, as long as you remember what I said, everything will be fine,"
Rocky muttered sternly and turned around to leave, but Hannah's abrupt cry stopped him.
"Wait!" she shouted as if she had suddenly thought of something.
"Do you need anything else, Miss Hannah?" asked Rocky.
He raised one eyebrow critically as he turned back around to meet her searching eyes.
"I heard that you helped Tessa a lot. She said you were instrumental in her successful fusion with the
martial spirit," she answered. Her beautiful eyes were narrowed in thought, but Rocky only shook his
head modestly.
"It's not a big deal," he said as he waved his hands in a dismissive gesture.
"Anyway, I just wanted to thank you. Although Tessa is not my biological sister, we have been best
friends since we were children. I can't become a spirit warrior because of my physical defect, so I have
placed all my hopes on her. That is also the reason that I persuaded Harrison to let her enter the
Martial Spirit Graveyard this time,"
Hannah continued gratefully.
"Speaking of this, will you let me collect some blood sample from you?" Rocky asked thoughtfully.
"What? My blood sample?" Hannah looked at Rocky in confusion.
"Yes. I want to take some of your blood."
"What? Why do you want my blood?" Hannah found it strange that he wanted her blood, so she didn't
know what to do.
"Trust me. It's for your own good," insisted Rocky. Of course, he didn't intend to tell her the truth. Rocky
had a theory that her physical defect could be still be changed. After all, she was born unable to
become a spirit warrior mostly because there was something wrong with her genetic makeup. Thus, he
thought that if he could find out more about her defective gene, then he could repair it and, perhaps,
allow her to become a spirit warrior.
Of course, the reason he wanted to do so was to win over Hannah. She was the daughter of the Sword
Spirit Sect's leader and had a great influence within the sect. If he could use her influence and
resources, it would greatly benefit him in the future.
"Umm, okay. How will you collect my blood?"
After hesitating for a while, Hannah finally relented. She reasoned to herself that it wasn't a big deal to
give Rocky a little blood, so she agreed with him in the end.
"It's actually quite simple. Please stretch out your hand,"
Rocky instructed as soon as she gave her permission.
Hannah stretched out her hand a bit shakily. Then, a needle and a container instantly appeared in
Rocky's hand.
He grabbed Hannah's hand and stabbed her thumb with the needle as fast as possible, making sure
that she wouldn't feel any pain. Afterward, he put the few drops of blood he had collected inside the
container and covered it with an airtight lid.
"It's done," Rocky said with a smile as he put the container into his Magic Spiritual Space.
"Wow! That's so simple and quick!" Hannah was amazed that Rocky had done it with very little fanfare,
and she didn't even feel any pain!
"Of course!" Rocky answered, looking pleased that Hannah found the process easy and painless.
"Since you still live in the beast farm, I'll leave Ally to you. I'm going to look for suitable spiritual beasts
to mate with it as soon as possible in the next few days," said Hannah after a while. She knew that
Rocky was very capable of caring for Ally, so she had no qualms about leaving it in his charge.
"Okay." Rocky nodded.
After that, Hannah went off straight away, as she didn't want to waste any more time.
"From now on, I, alone, will take care of Ally. The other disciples of the beast farm should not get close
to it, or else they might get hurt,"
Rocky told the man in charge of the beast farm.
"Understood." The man in charge nodded his head hastily, for he was ecstatic that Rocky was now in
charge of Ally. Now that Rocky had made a splash in the Sword Spirit Sect and earned Hannah's
respect, the man in charge dared not displease him.
Before long, Rocky took Ally back to the beast farm and tried to appease it. After it calmed down, he
left the beast farm and proceeded to the Security Hall.
When he arrived at the Cloudlet Team's lounge, he found that Ramon and the members of the Cloudlet
Team were all present. The moment they saw Rocky, they all got up hastily, greeting him with fondness
and admiration.
"What happened to you guys? Why are you looking at me like that?" Rocky asked with a smile.
"Just now, Master Harrison sent someone over to reward the two of us, and he also gave you a
promotion. You are now the deputy captain of the Cloudlet Team,"
Ramon muttered indifferently.
"Oh, what about Eliseo?" Rocky asked immediately.
"He was transferred to be the captain of the Sword Spirit City's guardian team. In other words, he was
promoted to a higher position thanks to you..."
Ramon knew that if Rocky hadn't been promoted, Eliseo wouldn't have been promoted to be the
captain of the guardian team as well.
"Really? Well, I'm glad to hear that.
I was afraid that Eliseo would lose his position because of me. If that happened, I couldn't be the
deputy captain!" Hearing the news from Ramon seemed to fill Rocky with relief.
"Here. Master Harrison gave you this deputy captain's token as a reward. From now on, you will be in
charge of the basic affairs of the Cloudlet Team."
After saying that, Ramon handed a delicate-looking wooden box and a token to Rocky.
