Chapter 1039: Shu Jingfeng Is A Madman
Feng Tianlan raised her head and looked at Si Mobai’s expression as he was waited to be punished. She couldn’t help but laugh out loud and squeeze his hand affectionately. “When I first saw her, I thought I was looking into the mirror.”
She could understand why Mobai mistook that person for her to begin with. After all, she was also wearing a bunny mask and her eyebrows and eyes were identical to hers. Even her figure was about the same. If it weren’t for the difference in the color of their shirts, she would have thought that she was really looking into a mirror.
“Lan’er actually felt that way too?” Si Mobai looked at her in surprise.
Feng Tianlan nodded softly. She remembered the woman’s expression being as shocked as hers when they first met. Besides, they did and said the same thing at the same time. The way they were synchronized made them look as if they were the same person.
“Mobai, when I called for help just now, it seemed as though we had both planned it beforehand. We spoke and acted the same way at the exact same time. But really, we have never spoken to one another before.” Feng Tianlan raised her head and looked at Si Mobai while saying this gravely.
She felt terrified again when she recounted the scene just now because what happened had been too strange for words.
Si Mobai embraced Feng Tianlan and spoke in a gentle tone, “Don’t think too much about this. I will investigate this matter. There aren’t many people who like to wear red in Lin’an City. Besides, she has never appeared in the city before. I reckon she just entered the city not so long ago. Therefore, it will be easy for me to find out more about her.”
With a soft ‘uh-huh’, Feng Tianlan replied, “Oh, I thought the red-eyed man was rather familiar too. I seemed to have met him somewhere before, but I can’t remember now.”
Si Mobai lowered his head and looked at her. He wanted to tell her what he was thinking. But when he thought about how threatening he felt that man was, he subconsciously decided to hide it from her. He didn’t want Lan’er to know a single thing about that man.
“Mobai?” Feng Tianlan raised her head and gave Si Mobai a doubtful look. A hint of murderous intent flashed on his peach-blossom eyes. This murderous intent was very strong and this made her worried.
Si Mobai lowered his head and looked into her eyes. Ultimately, he had no intentions of betraying the trust she had in him. He let out a long-drawn sigh. “If I am not mistaken, he is that madman.”
Lan’er trusted him. Therefore, he shouldn’t keep anything from her and betray her trust. Otherwise, if he were to lie once, he would continue lying to her countless times. The trust between him and Lan’er would then be broken.
“Madman?” Feng Tianlan was stunned for a while. It took her a while to remember who the madman was. “Oh, it’s that madman. No wonder I found him quite familiar.”
When Si Mobai saw that she just remembered who he was and how she spoke of him so flippantly, he couldn’t help but lower his head to kiss her on her cheek. However, he ended up kissing her mask instead. “Lan’er, you are so good.”
It seemed as though she didn’t care about the madman at all. In fact, she had forgotten him since a long time ago.
Feng Tianlan raised her head and looked at him. “Were you hesitant to tell me who he is just now?”
Si Mobai nodded calmly as he gave her an aggrieved look. “I felt a great sense of danger in front of him. I was afraid he might take you away from me.”
Feng Tianlan chuckled. Then, she wrapped her arms around his waist as raised her head to look at him, blinking her starry eyes. “He can’t take me away from you. I feel disgusted by him.” Although she found him familiar, she had been really disgusted by him!
“That’s good.” Si Mobai hugged her tightly. He finally felt a sense of relief spread through his body. The two of them hugged under the moonlight.
…
The river was filled with flower lanterns floating off to a faraway place with the wishes of their masters written on them.
A figure was standing beside the river. That person reached out and grabbed four flower lanterns from the river and opened one of them. On the lantern were written the words: ‘I wish for all Lan’er’s wishes to come true. —Si Mobai’
