Seeing her expression, Feng Tianlan could not suppress a chuckle. “He is free to fall in love with anyone he likes.”

Feng Tianlan jumped. She immediately stepped aside, putting considerable distance between them. “But Your Highness, it’s broad daylight…”

These were three words that she dared not roll off her lips. She worried that if she angered Si Mobai, he would throw all reason out the window and kiss her right then and there.
Si Mobai retracted his gaze and stared straight ahead. In all seriousness, he promised her yet again, “You are the only one I love.”
Feng Tianlan could feel Luo Yunzhu’s teasing gaze on her skin, sending shivers down her spine. She blushed furiously at once.
“Indeed, I am free to fall in love with anyone in the world. That’s why you should stop meddling.” Si Mobai stole a glance at Feng Tianlan and saw the pink spreading across her smiling cheeks. His lips lifted into an unwitting smile. Could Lan’er get any cuter, with her face flushing so pretty a pink?
Feng Tianlan pursed her lips and rested her eyes on the back of Si Mobai’s head. She shot him a fierce glare, only to be distracted by his smooth black hair. It was almost like silk. She was reminded of their first encounter when he’d suddenly landed in front of her. His hair had also brushed her face back then, tinged with its slight whiff of mint.
Lin Suyin found herself always checking in on Feng Tianlan’s team so that she could catch Si Mobai’s smile once again. Warning bells went off in her brain. She could no longer squash the worry overwhelming her heart.
Si Mobai noticed Lin Suyin’s gaze almost immediately. While the Wargod had eyes that were as beautiful as peach flowers, they could turn icy in an instant. He shot invisible frozen daggers at Lin Suyin as a warning. After making sure that Lin Suyin got his point, he looked away with a frosty expression and fixed his gaze to the front.
Lin Suyin shivered. Si Mobai’s gaze was well below the freezing point. Not only did it chill her from head to toe, but it also shattered her hopes without any mercy. He was being heartless toward her, devoid of any kindness. He never allowed even an ounce of emotion to slip.
Who was that woman? She truly wished to know. What kind of charm did she possess to make a man colder than Mount Everest surrender a smile?
“I heard that the Wargod has brought a woman to his manor?” Lin Suyin finally succumbed to curiosity and asked. She had heard the rumor some time ago but had been content with deceiving herself. She had always assumed that it had merely been floated by bored civilians. Now that she had returned and seen his smile for herself, she realized that it had to be true.
“Many have seen her. She was clad in white when the Wargod carried her into his manor in a bridal carry. He was extremely protective and made sure that no one saw her face. No one has heard anything about her leaving, so she is probably still there.”
“The Wargod flew into a rage that one time, also for the woman. He punished people who spread false rumors of him liking Tu Xiupei and saw that those rumor-mongers’ tongues were pulled out. It was so scary.”
“Worry not, Sister Lin. The Wargod will never fall for Feng Tianlan. Firstly, she’s too ugly. Secondly, another woman has already moved into his manor…” The speaker quickly realized her Freudian slip and promptly made up for it, “We can’t say for sure who that woman is. Not just anybody is worthy of the Wargod.”
“If you look beyond the scar, Miss Feng would be the foremost beauty in the South Winds Nation.” After she said that, Lin Suyin took out a brocade box from her storage ring. Then, she made her way to Feng Tianlan.
“Sister Lin.” Her actions bewildered the bystanders. Some even thought that there was something wrong with her head. Why would she keep speaking up for Feng Tianlan? If anything, she should be considered her love rival.
When Si Mobai saw Lin Suyin walking toward Feng Tianlan, he moved closer while still keeping a three-step distance between him and Lin Suyin. The positioning was impeccably clever.

Feng Tianlan stopped and asked, distant but polite, “How can I help you, Miss Lin?”
Lin Suyin saw Si Mobai’s little maneuver and winced. She was caught off-guard by how upsetting it was. However, she quickly recovered and offered the brocade box with a smile, “This is not pity. I just think that a woman’s face is of the utmost importance. If you removed that scar, Miss Feng, you would be a staggering beauty. No one would ever sneer at you again.”
