Chapter 323: Being Narrow-minded
Luo Yunzhu turned back to look at Lin Suyin, then reached out a hand and whacked Zhang Tiancheng on the head. “Everyone has a temper. If someone doesn’t lose their temper after being insulted, then they’re just putting on an act. Either Lin Suyin has some ulterior motive for getting close, or she’s just biding her time to act up.”
“Why can’t you accept that she’s just magnanimous? She isn’t going to fight with you.”
Luo Yunzhu whacked his head again. “She’s been following us since we left the academy when we obviously didn’t welcome her. But she hasn’t gotten angry at all. Instead, she’s been following us around and trying to gain Tianlan’s favor. If it turns out that she really doesn’t have any other reason for doing this, then you can chop my head off and kick it around like a ball.”
“If I chop your head off, then you won’t look nice anymore.” Zhang Tiancheng couldn’t help but look up at Lin Suyin. “I still don’t get it, though. In any case, I think she’s a nice girl.”
“You’re an idiot after you’ve seen a beauty. Anyway, you men like this type. So, by all means, proceed with your lack of comprehension. You’ll get it after you’ve been betrayed.” Luo Yunzhu couldn’t be bothered to explain any further. There was no harm in being wary, anyway.
“She’s not my type. I…” Zhang Tiancheng decided against explaining and ran over to Feng Tianlan. “Boss, what do you think?”
Boss was wiser than Luo Yunzhu.
“What Yunzhu said makes sense. Everyone has a temper,” Feng Tianlan replied calmly. “Those who don’t blow up have either reached their limit or are hiding their anger and pretending. Basically, it is the essence of being a hypocrite.”
At first, Lin Suyin’s background had appeared very straightforward, but it now seemed like things might not be so simple. Moon Fairy Grass was very rare, and few people knew what it was. But she knew, so she clearly had quite a bit of specialist knowledge.
Li Suyin followed Feng Tianlan and the others. She pretended that she was just observing the scenery around her. But actually, she was sizing up the people in front of her and guessing their skill level, talents, and personalities. She also gauged the environment.
“Tianlan, the flowers are so pretty and huge!” Luo Yunzhu was shocked to see a giant yellow flower that was as tall as her. This was the first time that she had seen a flower with the same height as a human.
“Miss Luo…” Lin Suyin saw that Luo Yunzhu had reached out a hand to touch the flower and quickly shouted at her. She waved her slender hand, and a silver needle came flying out. The needle stabbed the bud in the stem, causing the entire huge flower to collapse.
Luo Yunzhu’s hand froze in midair. She looked at the flower, whose life had been unceremoniously cut off. The petals were half-closed, but the middle was like a bottomless pit that could swallow her whole.
“Are you alright?” Feng Tianlan had wanted to stop Lin Suyin, but when she saw what had happened, she quickly pulled Luo Yunzhu back several paces to make sure that they stood far away from the flower.
“That’s a Man-Eating Flower. It’s a carnivorous plant.” Lin Suyin looked apologetically at Luo Yunzhu, who was shocked speechless. “I’m sorry. It was an emergency, so I…”
“Oh no, I should thank you instead.” Luo Yunzhu hurriedly stuffed her hand back into her sleeve. If Lin Suyin had reacted a little bit later, Luo Yunzhu’s hand would have been devoured by the Man-Eating Flower. She shuddered at the thought.
“As long as you’re not offended.” Lin Suyin smiled magnanimously.
After being rescued by her, Luo Yunzhu felt apologetic too. “I’m sorry too about what happened before.” Lin Suyin had saved her hand, so now Luo Yunzhu owed her one.
“No worries, it’s probably because I don’t look very friendly at first glance.”
Now Luo Yunzhu felt even more ashamed. “Not at all. You are very pretty. I’ve just been narrow-minded.”
Feng Tianlan frowned slightly after she heard such words—the kind that made one let one’s guard down. If Lin Suyin had recognized the Man-Eating Flower, why hadn’t she said so when they’d passed them earlier? Why wait until Yunzhu was about to touch it?
